With the development of mobile network, various kinds of mobile apps come into being, which brings great convenience to our life, but many students are addicted to the network, for example, some students are keen to use mobile Taobao for online shopping, while others are addicted to an online game called Glory of Kings. As for me, I think app should not only let us contact with others, but also serve as a learning tool, so I choose Wechat, which allows me to communicate with my family and friends. In addition, I also think E-dictionary is a useful app, through which I can look up unfamiliar new words and increase my English vocabulary.
In view of the reasons above, I think Wechat and E-dictionary are the two kinds of apps that do good to us students.

Section A
Directions: After reading the passage below, fill in the blanks to make the passage coherent and grammatically correct. For the blanks with a given word, fill in each blank with the proper form of the given word; for the other blanks, use one word that best fits each blank.
Wikipedia has come a long way since it started in 2001. With around 70, 000 volunteers editing in over 100 languages, it is by far the world’s 21 (popular)reference site. However, its future is uncertain.
One of the biggest threats it faces is the rise of smartphones 22 the dominant personal computing device. Wikipedia has always depended on contributors (撰稿人) who hunch over keyboards 23 (search) for references, discussing changes and writing articles with a special code. It’s simply too hard to use complex code on a tiny screen. The pool of potential Wikipedia editors 24 dry up as the number of mobile users keeps growing. The nonprofit Wikimedia Foundation, 25 oversees Wikipedia’s operations, 26 (look) for solutions for a while. For instance, the development of touch-screen tools allows editors to sift through (筛选)information and share content from their phones.
The tension runs through the community. Last year, the foundation took unprecedented steps of forcing the installation of new software on the German-language Wikipedia. The German editors 27 (show) their independence by resisting an earlier update to the site’s user interface(界面). 28 the wishes of these experienced editors, the foundation installed a new method for viewing multimedia content and then set up a “superprotect” feature 29 (prevent) stubborn administrators from changing it back.
Could the pressure from mobile users, and the internal tension, tear Wikipedia apart? A world without it seems unimaginable, but consider the fate of other online communities. Blogging, celebrated a decade ago as pioneering an exciting new form of personal writing, has decreased significantly in the social-media age.
These are challenges, but they can still 30 (solve). There is no other significant alternative to Wikipedia, and good will toward the project could hardly be higher. In an age of internet giants, the selflessness of websites is worth saving.

Make a Wish List
Most of us know of New Year’s Resolutions, where one sets intentions for the year ahead. But too often, people make their resolutions 31 — “I will no longer eat biscuits left at my desk” — and then feel unhappy. In the cold month of January, the last thing you need is to 32 your energy further by setting up a series of battles with yourself. And if you break a resolution, you feel 33 , which is a rubbish way to start the year. What you need instead are things to look forward to.
So instead, try a wish list. This involves writing down 100 things you would like to do in the year ahead. The items can be enormous or tiny, ranging from “Climb Everest” to “buy a new pencil sharpener”. The main thing is that at some point it has 34 to you as something that you would like to do.
The key here is — write it down.
Do you feel any resistance to the ideas? If so, ask yourself why. What is wrong with 35 what you would like to do? Try not to say to yourself: “I can’t, I don’t have the money/time/energy/skills.” Just write it down. It helps to be 36 , so rather than “Get outdoors”, 37 a place you would like to visit. And take your time when creating it — a wish list is not built in a day. Think about it, polish it and 38 it.
Finally, you have your list. And what a work of beauty it is. Here are all the things that you would like to do. Remember to 39 them up where you can see them; let yourself consider how they can be accomplished. You’ll be amazed that so many of your dreams can be realized though the simple trick of writing them down and 40 to them.
III.Reading Comprehension (共45分。 41-45每题1分;56-70每题2分)
Section A
Directions: For each blank in the following passage there are four words or phrases marked A. B.C and D. Fill in each blank with the word or phrase that best fits the context
You’ve been painting for a few years, have shown work in a group show at the local art center, and maybe you have even sold a painting or two. Are you ready to 41 the title of an amateur artist? Distinguishing beginners from professional artists is a 42 business. It is not just a matter of your ability to create nice paintings, nor does having another job 43 disqualify someone from being considered a professional artist. Two key factors come into play when making that 44 .
To turn professional, individuals must prioritize the development of developing a personal style. What makes your paintings different than every other painting out there? Do your paintings exhibit a unified theme throughout, or do they lack 45 ? Style does not mean that you are painting the same subject or using the same painting medium. 46 , it refers to the look and feel of your paintings. A personal style doesn’t come 47 but evolves with technique, choice of painting medium, and the subjects you depict. You 48 it through continuous practice and exploration. Salvador Dali explored many artistic mediums, but they all have a 49 Dali style. Every artist has a style and when you begin to develop it, this is when you really know that you’ re on the road to being a professional.
Another significant factor behind becoming a professional artist is your 50 . What gets you out of bed every morning to paint? How do you find the energy to have all your time devoted to painting? 51 , both professionals and amateurs love to do what they do and they get satisfaction out of creating art. However, Amateurs may 52 painting just as a hobby or to satisfy a creative impulse. For professional artists, it goes beyond that. Some wish to convey a deep message concerning life, society, or even politics. Others simply seek financial returns to pay family bills. What’s more, many amateur artists wait for 53 to come. If they are not in the mood, they do not bother looking at the canvas(画布). They may even stop painting if another activity pops up in their day. Professionals are never easily 54 or torn away from their artwork in progress. It may even take a natural disaster to force them out of the studio. Professional artists are also constantly prepared to look for ideas for the next painting, driven by the belief that the next painting will 55 the last one and that there is always room for improvement.
Are you ready to become a professional? Whether you pursue a professional art career or not, keep creating. You will find a personal satisfaction in painting that few other hobbies can give you.

Chinese Teapot Escaping from British Museum Goes Viral
Chinese state media has praised a viral video series telling the story of a jade teapot coming to life and fleeing the British Museum to make its way back home.
The set of three short episodes, entitled Escape from the British Museum, shows the teapot turning into a young woman in a green dress, who then engages a London-based Chinese journalist to help her reunite with her family.
It appears to have struck a chord in China after first being released by independent vloggers on Douyin, China’s equivalent to TikTok. By Monday evening, it had reportedly racked up more than 310 million views.
The plot line taps into growing Chinese criticism of the British Museum after reports last month that more than 1,500 priceless objects, including gold jewelry, semi-precious stones and glass, were missing, stolen or damaged.
In August the state media tabloid Global Times called for the return of Chinese artefacts from the museum “free of charge” in the wake of the controversy.
“The huge loopholes in the management and security of cultural objects in the British Museum exposed by this scandal have led to the collapse of a long-standing and widely circulated claim that ‘foreign cultural objects are better protected in the British Museum’,” it said.
⑦It strongly supported the video series for touching on a “powerful message” about the importance of cultural heritage and reflecting “Chinese people’s yearning for the repatriation of the Chinese cultural relics”.
In a further jibe at the museum, it interpreted the jade teapot’s surprise at the size of the journalist’s residence as depicting the “casual attitude of the British Museum toward Chinese cultural relics, as many of them are crammed into one cabinet for exhibition”.
State broadcaster CCTV also gave the short films a glowing review saying: “We are very pleased to see Chinese young people are passionate about history and tradition… We are also looking forward to the early return of Chinese artefacts that have been displaced overseas.”
The museum scandal made headlines around the world and revived earlier demands by the Chinese media to restore the country’s relics.
The new three-part show has unleashed a wave of nationalism among viewers, with many praising the creative plot that reduced them to tears by showing how the teapot experienced the happiness of returning to China to see pandas and watch a flag-raising ceremony on Tiananmen Square.
56.What excuse does Britain give for keeping other nations’ cultural objects in its museum?
A.It has taken possession of these objects by all lawful means.
B.These objects may come to life, flee their countries and go viral.
C.These objects are safer and taken better care of in its museum.

A.A London-based Chinese journalist has contributed a lot to the viral three-part video series.
B.The museum’s flawed management and security systems are involved in the scandal.
C.The Britain Museum is under pressure to return the cultural relics to China sooner or later.
D.China had already demanded the restoration of its cultural relics before the scandal.
59.What’s the purpose of the passage?

Scientific publishing has long been a license to print money. Scientists need journals in which to publish their research, so they will supply the articles without monetary reward. Other scientists perform the specialized work of peer review also for free, because it is a central element in the acquisition of status and the production of scientific knowledge.
With the content of papers secured for free, the publisher needs only find a market for its journal. Until this century, university libraries were not very price sensitive. Scientific publishers routinely report profit margins approaching 40% on their operations, at a time when the rest of the publishing industry is in an existential crisis.
The Dutch giant Elsevier, which claims to publish 25% of the scientific papers produced in the world , made profits of more than £900m last year, while UK universities alone spent more than £210m in 2016 to enable researchers to access their own publicly funded research; both figures seem to rise unstoppably despite increasingly desperate efforts to change them.
The most drastic, and thoroughly illegal, reaction has been the emergence of Sci-Hub, a kind of global photocopier for scientific papers, set up in 2012, which now claims to offer access to every paywalled article published since 2015. The success of Sci-Hub, which relies on researchers passing on copies they have themselves legally accessed, shows the legal ecosystem has lost legitimacy among its users and must be transformed so that it works for all participants.
In Britain the move towards open access publishing has been driven by funding bodies. In some ways it has been very successful. More than half of all British scientific research is now published under open access terms: either freely available from the moment of publication, or paywalled for a year or more so that the publishers can make a profit before being placed on general release.
Yet the new system has not worked out any cheaper for the universities. Publishers have responded to the demand that they make their product free to readers by charging their writers fees to cover the costs of preparing an article. These range from around £500 to $5,000. A report last year pointed out that the costs both of subscriptions and of these “article preparation costs” had been steadily rising at a rate above inflation. In some ways the scientific publishing model resembles the economy of the social internet: labour is provided free in exchange for the hope of status, while huge profits are made by a few big firms who run the market places. In both cases, we need a rebalancing of power.
63.Scientific publishing is seen as “a license to print money” partly because________
A.its funding has enjoyed a steady increase. B.its marketing strategy has been successful.
C.its payment for peer review is reduced. D.its content acquisition costs nothing.
64.Which statement is true from Paragraphs 2 to 4?
A.Scientific publisher Elsevier have thrived mainly on university libraries.
B.Most scientific publishers gone through an existential crisis until this century.
C.Sci-Hub offers free access to paywalled articles published since 2015.
D.The researchers’ legally-accessed copies deny the legal ecosystem legitimacy.
65.It can be learned from Paragraphs 5 and 6 that open access terms________
A.allow publishers some room to make money. B.render publishing much easier for scientists.
C.reduce the cost of publication substantially. D.free universities from financial burdens.
66.Which of the following characteristics the scientific publishing model?
A.Trial subscription is offered. B.Labour triumphs over status.
C.Costs are well controlled. D.The few feed on the many.

Medecins Sans Frontieres
Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF), which means “Doctors Without Borders”, established in 1971, is now one of the largest international, independent, medical humanitarian organizations that delivers emergency aid and medical relief to people affected by armed conflicts, epidemics, pandemics, natural disasters such as earthquakes or floods and excluded from healthcare. 67 In 1999, it won the Nobel Peace Prize.
Each year, about 3,000 people are sent abroad to work in more than 60 different countries worldwide. 68 In most projects, there are about seven local members to every foreigner. Volunteers are paid about $1,400 each month and receive travel expenses. They usually work on a project for six months to a year. Many volunteers go on more than one mission.
One volunteer reports, “Working in politically sensitive areas with limited resources can be frustrating, but there is huge satisfaction in making even a small or temporary difference to people. What better recommendation than to say, ‘I’m about to leave on a third mission!’”
69 You have to be able to deal with stress, and you need to be able to work independently as well as in a team. You are required to have medical qualifications. Besides medical expertise, MSF needs the skills of technical staff such as building engineers and food experts.
The reaction of volunteers returning from MSF speaks for itself. “One of my biggest challenges was organizing a team to open a new hospital in a town that had had no medical care for three years,” one volunteer said. This volunteer said the project was a success because of the reduction of deaths and the fact that the local people were so thankful. Another volunteer says, “The rewards can be enormous. 70 ”
A.In some countries, there are even more volunteer professionals than locally hired staff.
B.With MSF, volunteers have had the chance to travel and test their skills to the limits both professionally and personally.
C.MSF relies on volunteer professionals but also works closely with about 25,000 locally hired staff.
D.What do volunteers have in common both professionally and personally?
E.What qualities and skills do you need to become a volunteer?
F.It offers assistance to people based on need and irrespective of race, religion, gender or political affiliation.
IV.Summary Writing (共10分)
Directions: Read the following passage. Summarize the main idea and the main point( s)of the passage in no more than 60 words. Use your own words as far as possible.
Are you a textaholic?
Do you spend over an hour each day texting your friends? Do you frequently neglect work, study and leisure activities to check your phone for text message? Are you moody and emotional if you are separated from your mobile phone? Do you hardly ever use your phone to talk any more, and do your thumbs from texting too much?
If you answered 'Yes' to any of the above questions, then the chances are that you are a textaholic.A textaholic can be defined as someone who is addicted to sending and receiving text messages. The main symptoms are strong will to text which takes precedence over (优先于) everything else, and withdrawal symptoms (戒断症状)if messages fail to come in, leading to anger, depression and a lack of self-respect.Other problems include sleeplessness, eye strain, and repetitive strain injury due to constant messaging, not to mention expensive phone bills. The root of the problem, as with many addictions, is the desire to escape from emotional difficulties such as stress, anxiety and relationship problems.Experts warn that text addiction is likely to become the most common form of addiction in the future, especially among the young.
So what can you do if you think you may be textaholic? The key is to get your life back in balance.Make sure you resist the urge to answer every message you receive, and consider leaving your mobile phone behind occasionally when you go out. Most importantly, make a point of spending quality time with friends and family, and make time to re — learn the art of face-to-face conversation instead of conducting your relationships by means of text messages. Not only will you save time and money, but you may also rediscover the pleasure of true communication.

Section A
Directions: In Section A, you will hear ten short conversations between two speakers. At the end of each conversation, a question will be asked about what was said. The conversations and the questions will be spoken only once. After you hear a conversation and the question about it,read the four possible answers on your paper, and decide which one is the best answer to the question you have heard.
1. M: I'm sorry. We closed the boarding gate 5 minutes ago.
W: When I checked in, they told me I had enough time.
Q: Where does the conversation probably take place?
2. W: There is a trade fair coming up in September. Do you think we should attend?
M: Probably not. It will take a lot of work to prepare for it. Also, it costs a lot to just get a spot.
Q: Why doesn't the man think they should attend the trade fair?
3. M: You just paid off the bill for the repairs to the car. That should teach you a lesson.
W: It has. It was such a bother to park in the garage, and I never thought anything would happen to the car on the street.
Q: What will the woman probably give up doing?
4. W: Hey, Gerald. I'm going to travel abroad soon and want to make the most of my trip.Any suggestions?
M: How about trying a walking tour? It's a great way to explore a city and learn about its culture.
Q: What does Gerald suggest the woman do?
5. M: Can I copy your homework?
W: No way. Not in a million years!
Q: What does the woman mean?
6. W: Why do you look so pale, Roger?
M: I almost hit an old lady on my way to work with my mini electric two-wheel vehicle.
Q: What can we learn from the conversation?
7. M: It is almost moving day, right? Are you all packed and ready to go?
W: My mom is a little too ready. Last night, she packed all the toothpaste and toilet paper, so washing up took quite some time this morning.
Q: Why did it take the woman so long to wash up this morning?
8. W: Watch out! That bookshelf behind you doesn't look very safe.
M: Oh, yes, you are right. It isn't fixed to the wall.
Q: What can we learn from the conversation?
9. W: The three-bedroom apartment is much more expensive.
M: In that case, we might have to settle for two, as long as it is in a good location.
Q: What can be inferred from the conversation?
10. M: What is taking you so long to decide which shirt to wear tonight?
W: I'm not sure, and I can't help thinking“What if this? What if that?”
Q: What can be inferred about the woman?
Section B
Directions: In Section B, you will hear two short passages and one longer conversation, and you will be asked several questions on each of the passages and the conversation. The passages and the conversation will be read twice, but the questions will be spoken only once. When you hear a question, read the four possible answers on your paper and decide which one would be the best answer to the question you have heard.
Questions 11 through 13 are based on the following passage.
Imagine a satellite made of wood rather than metal. This innovative concept is about to become a reality, with scientists aiming to launch the world's first wooden satellite later this summer.
The LignoSat satellite has been built of magnolia wood. In experiments carried out on the International Space Station(ISS), the satellite was found to be particularly stable and resistant to cracking. The wooden satellite has been built by researchers at Kyoto University and the logging company called Sumitomo Forestry in order to test whether biodegradable materials such as wood can replace metals to make satellites.
The successful launch and demonstration of an eco-friendly satellite would be a significant step toward addressing the increasing problem of space pollution. When traditional satellites re-enter the earth's atmosphere, they burn, releasing tiny pieces of chemical matter. They would persist in the upper atmosphere for extended periods, damaging the upper layer and causing major environmental problems.
However, this should not be a problem with satellites built of wood, like LignoSat.When it burns up as it re-enters the atmosphere after completing its mission, it will produce only a fine mist of biodegradable ash.
Questions
11. What problem do the traditional satellites contribute to?
12. Which of the following statements about the LignoSat satellite is true?
13. What is the main purpose of carrying out the experiments?
Questions 14 through 16 are based on the following passage.
Many view failure negatively, but llana Ben-Ari, founder of Twenty One Toys, wants to change this perspective. She sees failure as a learning experience.
The Failure Toy involves five-person teams building structures on an unstable game wheel, competing for points. Falling structures result in point losses. After each 5-minute round, players switch teams. At the end, each player fills out a card saying who they think wins. This might not be the person with the most points. It has more to do with who best supports their team's success. This leads to discussion about players’ behaviors and emotions, and the consequences of these behaviors and emotions.
The Failure Toy follows Ben-Ari's first product, the Empathy Toy. This toy began as a way to help blind students and those who could see communicate and be responsive to each other.
Ben-Ari herself learned about failure in the process of designing the Failure Toy. She had to cancel her initial launch because the toy wasn't ready. She didn't want to settle for releasing a product that wasn't finished. After her third attempt to finish the Failure Toy, Ben-Ari took a break from the project for a year. Then a company called, asking if she could hold a workshop to instruct them on how to use the Failure Toy. Ben-Ari agreed and got to work on the project. This time she and her team had grown, and she met the deadline.
Questions
14. What is the main purpose of llana Ben-Ari's Failure Toy?
15. What happens when the structures fall in The Failure Toy game?
16. Why did Ben-Ari cancel the initial launch of The Failure Toy?

W: Yeah, I do. When are club meetings held after school?
M: Aside from the club time during school, we have additional practice sessions twice a week. Specifically, on odd weeks, we meet on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons, while on even weeks, we gather on Monday and Tuesday afternoons.
W: I see. That goes perfectly with my schedule. Also, I'm curious about the club's future activities. Will there be any performances or events that new members will take part in?

W: That sounds amazing! I've always wanted to perform on stage, but I have no idea how to play the guitar.
M: Don't worry. Our members are always ready to help each other, and there'll be meetings where we can practice as a group.
W: That's great to know. I'm very excited to learn.
M: That's the spirit! You can reach out to me if you have any other questions.

Section A
Directions: For each blank in the following passage there are four words or phrases marked A.

D.It is requested by other nations to protect their cultural objects.
57.What does the underlined word “repatriation” (Para. 7) probably mean?
A.Repair. B.Reflection. C.Return. D.Reserve.
58.Which can we infer from the passage?
A.A London-based Chinese journalist has contributed a lot to the viral three-part video series.
B.The museum’s flawed management and security systems are involved in the scandal.
C.The Britain Museum is under pressure to return the cultural relics to China sooner or later.
D.China had already demanded the restoration of its cultural relics before the scandal.
59.What’s the purpose of the passage?
A.To appeal to Britain to return China’s cultural objects.
B.To introduce a viral video series about a fleeing jade teapot.
C.To arouse readers’ concern about Chinese cultural objects abroad.
D.To praise Chinese young people’s passion for history and tradition.
根据第六段中“The huge loopholes in the management and security of cultural objects in the British Museum exposed by this scandal have led to the collapse of a long-standing and widely circulated claim that ‘foreign cultural objects are better protected in the British Museum’ (这一丑闻暴露出大英博物馆在文物管理和安全方面的巨大漏洞,导致长期以来广为流传的“外国文物在大英博物馆得到更好的保护”的说法破灭。)”可推知,英国把其他国家的文物存放在自己的博物馆里的理由之一是,它声称这些文物在它的博物馆里更安全,能得到了更好的照顾。故选C项。
57.词句猜测题。根据上文可知,大英博物馆收藏了许多属于中国的文物,结合常识和划线词所在句“Chinese people’s yearning for the repatriation of the Chinese cultural relics.(中国人民渴望中国文物的repatriation。)”中“Chinese people’s yearning for”可推知,中国人民渴望着这些珍贵文物的“回归”。划线词repatriation与return同义。故选C项。
58.推理判断题。根据倒数第二段中“The museum scandal made headlines around the world and revived earlier demands by the Chinese media to restore the country’s relics.

【答案】63.D 64.A 65.A 66.D
【导语】这是一篇说明文。文章主要论述了科学出版存在的问题以及原因。
63.细节理解题。根据第一段“Scientific publishing has long been a license to print money. Scientists need journals in which to publish their research, so they will supply the articles without monetary reward. Other scientists perform the specialized work of peer review also for free, because it is a central element in the acquisition of status and the production of scientific knowledge.(长期以来,科学出版一直是印钱的许可证。科学家们需要在期刊上发表他们的研究成果,所以他们将无偿提供文章。其他科学家也免费从事同行评议的专业工作,因为这是获得地位和产生科学知识的核心因素)”可知,科学出版被视为“印钞许可证”,部分原因是其内容获取不需要任何成本。故选D。
64.细节理解题。根据第二段“Until this century, university libraries were not very price sensitive. Scientific publishers routinely report profit margins approaching 40% on their operations, at a time when the rest of the publishing industry is in an existential crisis.(直到本世纪,大学图书馆对价格并不十分敏感。在其他出版行业陷入生存危机之际,科学出版商通常报告其业务利润率接近40%)”以及第三段“The Dutch giant Elsevier, which claims to publish 25% of the scientific papers produced in the world , made profits of more than £900m last year, while UK universities alone spent more than £210m in 2016 to enable researchers to access their own publicly funded research(荷兰巨头爱思唯尔声称发表了世界上25%的科学论文,去年利润超过9亿英镑,而仅英国大学在2016年就花费了2.1亿英镑,使研究人员能够访问他们自己的公共资助研究)”可知,A选项“科学出版商爱思唯尔的繁荣主要依靠大学图书馆”正确。故选A。
65.细节理解题。根据倒数第二段“More than half of all British scientific research is now published under open access terms: either freely available from the moment of publication, or paywalled for a year or more so that the publishers can make a profit before being placed on general release.(现在,英国一半以上的科学研究都是在开放获取条款下发表的:要么从出版的那一刻起免费提供,要么一年或更长时间的付费,这样出版商可以在全面发布之前获得利润)”可知,开放获取条款为出版商提供了一些赚钱的空间。故选A。
66.细节理解题。根据最后一段“In some ways the scientific publishing model resembles the economy of the social internet: labour is provided free in exchange for the hope of status, while huge profits are made by a few big firms who run the market places.(在某些方面,科学出版模式类似于社交互联网的经济:免费提供劳动力以换取地位的希望,而少数经营市场的大公司则赚取巨额利润)”可知,科学出版模式的特点是多数人供养少数人。故选D。

67.根据前文“Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF), which means “Doctors Without Borders”, established in 1971, is now one of the largest international, independent, medical humanitarian organizations that delivers emergency aid and medical relief to people affected by armed conflicts, epidemics, pandemics, natural disasters such as earthquakes or floods and excluded from healthcare.(MSF (Medecins Sans Frontieres, MSF的意思是“无国界医生”)成立于1971年,现在是最大的国际独立医疗人道主义组织之一,向受武装冲突、流行病、流行病、地震或洪水等自然灾害影响而无法获得医疗保健的人提供紧急援助和医疗救济)”可知,此处是在介绍什么是无国界医生,所以F项“It offers assistance to people based on need and irrespective of race, religion, gender or political affiliation.(它根据需要,不分种族、宗教、性别或政治派别,向人们提供援助)”符合文意。故选F项。
68.根据前文“Each year, about 3,000 people are sent abroad to work in more than 60 different countries worldwide.(每年约有3000人被派往全球60多个不同的国家工作)”以及后文“In most projects, there are about seven local members to every foreigner.(在大多数项目中,当地成员与外国人的比例约为7比1)”可知,此处是在讲述,无国界医生的人员配置,所以C项“MSF relies on volunteer professionals but also works closely with about 25,000 locally hired staff.(无国界医生依靠专业志愿者,但也与约2.5万名当地雇员密切合作)”符合本段主题。故选C项。
69.分析设空,空处位于段首,是本段的中心句,根据后文“You have to be able to deal with stress, and you need to be able to work independently as well as in a team. You are required to have medical qualifications. Besides medical expertise, MSF needs the skills of technical staff such as building engineers and food experts.(你必须能够应对压力,你需要能够独立工作,也能在团队中工作。你必须有行医资格。除了医疗专业知识,无国界医生还需要技术人员的技能,如建筑工程师和食品专家)”可知,本段主要讲述了成为无国界医生的要求,所以E项“What qualities and skills do you need to become a volunteer?(成为一名志愿者需要具备哪些素质和技能?)”符合本段主题。故选E项。
70.根据前文“The rewards can be enormous.(回报可能是巨大的)”可知,后文应是具体的回报内容,所以B项“MSF relies on volunteer professionals but also works closely with about 25,000 locally hired staff.(在无国界医生的帮助下,志愿者们有机会旅行,并测试他们的专业和个人技能极限)”符合文意。故选B项。

72.他一进家门,就发现晚餐已经准备好了。(the instant)
【答案】The instant he entered the house, he found that dinner had been prepared.
The instant he entered the house, he found that dinner had been prepared.
73.无论你下月是否离职,做好手头的工作非常重要。(essential)
【答案】Whether you will leave your job next month or not, it is essential to do the work at hand well.
非常重要”可用固定结构it’s essential to do sth.,it为形式主语,不定式短语为真正的主语,表示“做好手头的工作”可用动词短语do the work at hand well。故翻译为Whether you will leave your job next month or not, it is essential to do the work at hand well.
74.许多青少年经常发现平衡学业和课外活动很有挑战性。 (find+宾语+宾补, challenge)
【答案】Many teenagers find it quite challenging/a big challenge to balance study/schoolwork/academic performance and extra-curricular/after-class activities.
Many teenagers find it quite challenging/a big challenge to balance study/schoolwork/academic performance and extra-curricular/after-class activities。

D.China had already demanded the restoration of its cultural relics before the scandal.

The wooden satellite has been built by researchers at kyoto university and the logging company called sumitomo al forestry in order to test whether biographical materials such as word can replace metals to make satellites. The successful launch and demonstration of an ecofriendly satellite would be a significant step toward addressing the increasing problem of space pollution. When traditional satellites reenter the earth's atmosphere, they burn, releasing tiny pieces of chemical matter. They would persist in the upper atmosphere for extended periods, damaging the upper layer and causing major environmental problems. However, this should not be a problem with satellites built of word like lig o SAT. When IT burns up as IT reenters the atmosphere after completing its mission, IT will produce only a fine mist of bd grateful ash. Now listen again. Imagine a satellite made of wood rather than medal. Many view failures negatively, but ellora benari found of twenty one toys wants to change the perspective. SHE sees failure as a learning experience. The failure toy involves five percent teams building structures on an unstable game wheel competing for points. Falling structures result in point losses. After each five minute round, players switch teams. At the end, each player fills out a card saying who they think wins. This might not be the person with the most points. IT has more to do with who best supports their team's success. This leads to discussion about player's behaviour and emotions and the consequences of these behaviours and emotions. The failure toy follows band ari's first product, the empathy toy. This toy began his way to help blind students and those who could see, communicate and be responsive to each other. Benari herself learned about failure in the process of designing the failure toy. SHE had to cancel her initial launch because the toy wasn't ready. SHE didn't want to settle for releasing a product that wasn't finished. After her third attempt to finish the failure toy, benari took a break from the project for a year. Then a company called, asking if he could hold a workshop to instruct them on how to use the failure toy. Barry agreed and got to work on the project. This time, SHE and her team had grown, and SHE met the deadline. Now listen again, many view failure negatively, but elana benari, founder of twenty one toys, wants to change this perspective.
