My first impression of Mrs. Li was that she was nervous and shy. I think perhaps she was, as it was her first lesson with us. But now, after two weeks, the class really likes working with her. She’s kind and patient, and she explains English grammar so clearly that even I can understand it! She avoids making you feel stupid! I’ve always hated making mistakes or pronouncing a word incorrectly when I speak English, but Mrs. Li just smiles, so that you don’t feel completely stupid! I think maybe she goes a bit too slowly for the faster students, but for me it’s wonderful! I feel I’m going to make progress with her. I’d guess that Mrs. Chen is almost sixty. She’s very strict — we don’t dare to say a word unless she asks us to. She’s also very serious and doesn’t smile much. When she asks you to do something, you do it immediately! There are a few students in our class who keep coming to class late but they’re always on time for Mrs. Chen’s lessons! Some of our class don’t like her, but most of us really appreciate her because her teaching is so well organized and clear. And a few students even admit liking her! During scientific experiments, she explains exactly what is happening and as a result my work is improving. Physics will never be my favourite lesson, but I think that I’ll do well in the exam with Mrs. Chen teaching me. Mr. Wu’s only been teaching us for two weeks and he’s already very popular. I think this is because he really enjoys teaching Chinese literature — he loves it, in fact! He’s got so much energy, this is one class you do not fall asleep in! He’s about 28, I think, and is rather good-looking. He talks loudly and fast, and waves his hands about a lot when he gets excited. He’s really amusing and tells jokes when he thinks we’re getting bored. Even things like compositions and summaries are fun with Mr. Wu. I respect him a lot. 21. Whose class goes slowly for faster students? A. Mrs. Li’s. B. Mrs. Chen’s. C. Mr. Wu’s. D. Not mentioned. 22. What’s the author’s first impression of Mrs. Chen? A. Enthusiastic and warm-hearted. B. Nervous and shy. C. Strict and serious. D. Popular and good-looking 23. What contributes most to Mr Wu’s popularity in teaching Chinese literature? A. Handsome appearance. B. His professional ability. C. His teaching style. D. His love for Chinese literature. 24. Which of the following statements is Not True? A. The author likes all of the three teachers. B. Mr. Wu is energetic when teaching in front of the class. C. Mrs. Li makes the author feel stupid when he makes mistakes. D. Almost all the students keep coming to Mrs. Chen’s class on time. B If you think that running marathons will help you live a long and healthy life, new research may come as a shock. According to a recent scientific study, people who do a very strenuous workout are as likely to die as people who do no exercise at all. Scientists in Denmark have been studying over 1,000 joggers (慢跑者) and non-joggers for 12 years. The death rates from the sample group indicate (表明) that people who jog at a proper pace two or three times a week for less than two and a half hours in total are least likely to die. The best speed to jog at was found to be about 5 miles per hour. The research suggests that people who jog more than three times a week or at higher speeds of over 7 mph die at the same rate as non-joggers. The scientists think that this is because strenuous exercise causes structural (结构上的) changes to the heart and arteries (动脉). Over time, this can cause serious injuries. Peter Schnohr, a researcher in Copenhagen, said, “If your goal is to decrease risk of death and improve life expectancy (寿命), jogging a few times a week at a proper pace is a good strategy. Anything more is not just unnecessary, and it may be harmful.” The implications (暗示) of this are that moderate (适度的) forms of exercise such as tai chi, yoga and walking may be better for us than “iron man events, triathlons and long-distance running and cycling. According to Jacob Louis Marott, another researcher involved in the study, “You don’ t actually have to do that much to have a good impact (影响) on your health. And perhaps you shouldn’t actually do too much”. 25. The underlined word “strenuous” in Paragraph 1 is closest in meaning to “______”. A. regular B. hard C. practical D. fluent 26. The author presents some figures in Paragraph 2 to ______. A. suggest giving up jogging B. show risks of doing sports C. provide supportive evidence D. introduce the research process 27. According to the scientists, why is too much exercise harmful? A. It may injure the heart and arteries. B. It can make the body tired out. C. It will bring much pressure. D. It consumes too much energy. 28. What can be inferred (推断) from the text? A. No exercise at all is the best choice. B. More exercise means a healthier life. C. Marathons runners are least likely to die. D. Proper exercise contributes to good health. C Many people wonder when the best time to exercise is. Experts have different opinions about morning, evening and afternoon workouts. To explore these differences further, let’s look at the benefits of exercising at different times of the day. Dr. Jagim from Mayo Clinic Health System says, “Morning workouts make you feel like you do something good and start the day on a happy note.” After a morning workout, people feel good because of endorphins (内啡肽). Also, mornings are usually free from other things to do, allowing people to enjoy their afternoons and evenings without worrying about exercise. For morning workouts, Dr. Jagim says, “Eating a varied breakfast with carbohydrates, protein, and healthy fats is important. This gives energy for the workout.” “However, for some people, waking up early to exercise is the last thing they feel like doing, and therefore, the case for evening workouts is more attractive. Your body works best in the early evening.” says Jake Erickson, a sports medicine specialist. “This is a good time to exercise. During this time, your body has time to wake up a bit by moving around throughout the day. Also, your body uses oxygen better in the evening. This helps you use your energy more efficiently when you exercise.” A study with over 90,000 people found that exercising in the afternoon is better for your heart and helps you live longer than exercising in the morning or evening. This is especially true for older people. Dr. Gende, emergency physician at Mayo Clinic Health System, says that morning workouts might not be good for people who work late shifts or stay up late. For them, it’s better to sleep more in the morning and then do a workout in the middle of the day or early afternoon before their next shift. While science gives ideas, experts agree the best time matches personal plans and energy. Consistency is more important than timing. 29. What does Dr. Jagim recommend for morning workouts? A Taking in more fats. B. Having a healthy breakfast C. Drinking enough water. D. Avoiding staying up late the night before. 30. What might Jake Erickson agree with? A. Early evening workouts suit late risers. B. The later night exercisers wake up, the better. C. All people’s bodies work best in the late evening. D. Morning workouts set a positive tone for night workers. 31. Which group benefits most from afternoon workouts according to the study? A. Young women. B. Teenagers C. Children. D. Older people 32. Which of the following is the best title for the text? A. When is the Best Time to Exercise? B. What is Important for a Healthy Body? C. What Role Does Food Play During Workouts? D. Why is Evening Exercise Good for Everyone? D For many people, childhood is the best time of their lives. Children’s Day is celebrated by different countries on different days of the year. He always asked his dad to take him to the park to watch other kids ride bikes, and he’d often stand there, eyes shining, imagining himself on one. When his birthday came closer, he finally worked up the courage to tell his dad what he really wanted. “Dad, for my birthday, can I have a blue bike?” Daniel said one evening while they were eating dinner. His dad put down his fork and looked at him seriously. “I’m worried about your safety, Daniel,” he said. “Riding a bike can be dangerous if you’re not careful.” Daniel’s face fell, but he didn’t give up. He sat up straight and said, “I promise I won’t ride on busy streets. I’ll only practice in the small park near our home. There are no cars there. And I’ll finish all my homework before I go, so my studies won’t be affected.” His dad looked at Daniel’s determined eyes and thought for a minute. He knew how much Daniel wanted a bike, and he also saw the effort his son was willing to make. At last, he nodded with a smile. “Okay, Daniel. I’ll buy you a bike for your birthday.” Daniel jumped up from his chair and gave his dad a big hug. “Thank you, Dad! You’re the best!” The next weekend, Daniel’s dad brought home a bright blue bike. Daniel couldn’t wait to try it. He pushed the bike to the park, got on it, and held the handlebars (把手) tightly. But as soon as he tried to ride, he lost his balance and fell off. Luckily, he didn’t hurt much, but he felt a little sad. He got up, brushed the dirt off his clothes, and tried again. This time, he went a few meters before falling. Again and again, he got on the bike, rode, and fell. His knees turned a little red, but he never said “I quit”. 注意: (1)续写词数应为150个左右; (2)请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 Seeing Daniel fall over several times, his father went over to him. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ That day, Daniel rode his bike around the park for a long time. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $Did you just make the coffee? 【答案】21. A 22. C 23. D 24. C 【解析】 【导语】这是一篇说明文。文章分别介绍了三位老师:李老师友善耐心、陈老师严格有条理、吴老师热情风趣,作者分享了对他们的印象、教学特点及自己的感受。 【21题详解】 细节理解题。根据第一段“I’ve always hated making mistakes or pronouncing a word incorrectly when I speak English, but Mrs. Li just smiles, so that you don’t feel completely stupid! I think maybe she goes a bit too slowly for the faster students, but for me it’s wonderful!(我一直都不喜欢犯错误或者在说英语时把单词读错,但李老师只是微微一笑,这样你就不会觉得自己完全是个笨蛋了!我觉得也许她对那些学习较快的学生来说讲解得太慢了,但对我来说这真是太棒了!)”可知,对于学习速度快的学生来说,李老师的班级学习进度较慢。故选A。 22题详解】 细节理解题。根据第二段“She’s very strict — we don’t dare to say a word unless she asks us to. She’s also very serious and doesn’t smile much.(她非常严格——除非她让我们开口,否则我们都不敢吭声。她还非常严肃,很少露出笑容)”可知,作者对陈老师的第一印象是严厉且严肃。故选C。 【23题详解】 细节理解题。根据最后一段“I think this is because he really enjoys teaching Chinese literature — he loves it, in fact!(我认为这是因为他确实非常喜欢教授中国文学——他真的热爱这份工作!)”可知,吴老师在教授中国文学课程方面最受欢迎的原因是他热爱中国文学。故选D。 【24题详解】 细节理解题。根据第一段“She’s kind and patient, and she explains English grammar so clearly that even I can understand it! She avoids making you feel stupid!(她性格温和且非常耐心,她讲解英语语法的方式清晰明了,就连我都能够理解!而且她从不会让你觉得自己很笨!)”可知,C选项“李老师在作者犯错时会让他觉得很愚蠢”不正确。故选C。 B If you think that running marathons will help you live a long and healthy life, new research may come as a shock. 【答案】25. B 26. C 27. A 28. D 【解析】 【导语】本文是一篇说明文,通过丹麦科学家的研究表明,过度剧烈运动与不运动的死亡风险相当,适度且有节奏的运动才更有利于健康。 【25题详解】 词句猜测题。根据第一段中的“If you think that running marathons will help you live a long and healthy life, new research may come as a shock (如果你认为跑马拉松会帮助你过上长寿健康的生活,一项新的研究可能会让你大吃一惊)”可知,人们一般认为马拉松会帮助我们过上健康长寿的生活,但新的研究结果不是这样。那些从事strenuous workout的人和根本不做运动的人死亡可能性一样。由此猜测“strenuous workout”指像跑马拉松一样强度大的运动,因此strenuous意为“剧烈的、高强度的”,与hard(费力的、剧烈的)。故选B项。 【26题详解】 推理判断题。根据第二段中的“The death rates from the sample group indicate that people who jog at a proper pace two or three times a week for less than two and a half hours in total are least likely to die (样本组的死亡率表明,每周以适当速度慢跑两到三次、总时长少于两个半小时的人死亡风险最低)”可知,作者列出“每周两到三次”“少于两个半小时”“每小时5英里”等数据,是为了给研究结论提供有力证据。故选C项。 【27题详解】 细节理解题。根据第二段中的“The scientists think that this is because strenuous exercise causes structural (结构上的) changes to the heart and arteries (动脉). (科学家们认为,这是因为剧烈运动导致心脏和动脉发生结构变化)”可知,过度运动有害是因为它可能损伤心脏和动脉。故选A项。 【28题详解】 推理判断题。根据第三段中的“If your goal is to decrease risk of death and improve life expectancy, jogging a few times a week at a proper pace is a good strategy (如果你的目标是降低死亡风险并提高预期寿命,每周以适当速度慢跑几次是个不错的策略)”可知,适度的运动有助于身体健康。故选D项。 C Many people wonder when the best time to exercise is. A. Taking in more fats. 【答案】29. B 30. A 31. D 32. This gives energy for the workout.’(贾吉姆博士表示,对于晨练来说,‘吃一顿包含碳水化合物、蛋白质和健康脂肪的多样化早餐非常重要,这能为锻炼提供能量。’)”可知,贾吉姆博士建议晨练者吃健康的早餐。故选B。 【30题详解】 推理判断题。根据第三段中“However, for some people, waking up early to exercise is the last thing they feel like doing, and therefore, the case for evening workouts is more attractive. Your body works best in the early evening.” says Jake Erickson, a sports medicine specialist.(运动医学专家杰克・埃里克森说:“然而,对有些人来说,早起锻炼是他们最不想做的事,因此,傍晚锻炼更有吸引力。你的身体在傍晚早些时候状态最佳。”)可知,埃里克森认为傍晚锻炼适合不想早起的人(即晚起者)。故选A。 【31题详解】 细节理解题。根据第四段中“A study with over 90,000 people found that exercising in the afternoon is better for your heart and helps you live longer than exercising in the morning or evening. A。 D For many people, childhood is the best time of their lives. By creating an organized to-do list, you can prioritize (优先处理) the important things, keep track of what still needs to be finished, (当你手头有很多事情的时候,很容易感到有压力。通过创建一个有条理的待办事项清单,你可以优先处理重要的事情,跟踪还需要完成的事情)”及下文“List all of your tasks.(列出所有任务)”对制作待办事项清单具体步骤的介绍可知,本空应说明制作有条理的待办事项清单的好处。F选项“and feel productive and prepared in all areas of your life(并且在生活的各个方面都感到高效和有准备)”说明了制作有条理的待办事项清单的好处,能承上启下,符合题意。故选F。 【37题详解】 由下文“For example, you may have a to-do list for school and a to-do list for home. By creating separate lists, you can focus your attention and energy on one set of tasks at a time.(例如,你可能有一个学校的待办事项清单和一个家里的待办事项清单。通过创建单独的清单,你可以一次将注意力和精力集中在一组任务上)”可知,本段主要介绍了将任务分类成不同的类型,并分别制作待办事项清单。B选项“Sort (分类) your tasks into different types(把你的任务分成不同的类型)”是对本段内容的概括,符合题意。故选B。 【38题详解】 由上文“Make your to-do list for the current day only.(只为你当前的一天制定待办事项清单)”、“Keep it simple! This will help you organize your tasks in order of priority, and you won’t feel stressful looking ahead at tasks for tomorrow, next week, or next month.(保持简单!这将帮助你按照优先级组织任务,并且你不会因为展望明天、下周或下个月的任务而感到有压力)”可知,本段主要介绍了只制定当天的待办事项清单,并强调要保持简单,本空应强调关注当天的任务的现实性。E选项“Be realistic about what you can complete in 24 hours(对你在24小时内能完成的事情要现实一些)”是对本段内容的进一步说明,强调要现实地看待自己在一天内能完成的任务,符合题意。故选E。 【39题详解】 由上文“Estimate the time each task will take.(估计每项任务需要的时间)”、 “Next to each task, write down how much time you truly think it will take.(在每项任务旁边,写下你认为真正需要的时间)”及下文“Don’t forget to set a 10-minute break between each task.(别忘了在每项任务之间安排10分钟的休息时间)”可知,本段主要介绍了估计每项任务所需的时间,并建议合理安排时间。 C选项“And use these time estimates to plan your day(并利用这些时间估计来规划你的一天)”强调要利用时间估计来规划一天的任务,能承上启下,符合题意。故选C。 【40题详解】 由上文“Make your list look nice.(让你的清单看起来漂亮)”及下文“but it can change the way you look at your to-do list. For example, you can write or type it out in your favorite color. Just create a list that inspires you to stay positive and get things checked off.(但它可以改变你看待待办事项清单的方式。例如,你可以用你最喜欢的颜色把它写出来或打出来。只要创建一个能激励你保持积极并完成任务清单的清单)”可知,本段主要介绍了让待办事项清单看起来更美观的方法,并强调这可以改变你看待清单的方式。本空需体现“让清单美观”这一做法的特点,再通过but转折突出其实际作用。A选项“This might seem unnecessary(这可能看起来没有必要)”中的this指代上文提到的“Make your list look nice”这一行为,且下文通过but进行了转折,强调了这一行为的好处,能承上启下,符合题意。故选A。 One day, a friend invited me to run a half marathon. I’d like to share some thoughts on communicating with our parents. Parents are the people who love us most, so it’s necessary to keep a good relationship with them. Here are my ideas on how to make it easier to communicate with parents. First, we should respect and trust our parents. Don’t be rude to them even if they have done something wrong. They have experienced more and always try their best to protect us from dangers. Second, if we often talk with them about our life and experiences, we will know each other better. What’s more, we can often tell our parents how much we love them. If sometimes we don’t agree with our parents’ decisions, we should try to put ourselves in their shoes and we will soon understand them. Remember that what they really want is only the best for us. Thank you for listening. 词汇积累 必要的:necessary→essential 粗鲁的:rude→impolite 保护:protect→defend 同意:agree with→approve of 2. They have experienced more and always try their best to protect us from dangers. Since they have experienced more than us, they always try their best to protect us from dangers. 1】Parents are the people who love us most, so it’s necessary to keep a good relationship with them.(运用了who引导的定语从句修饰先行词people) 【高分句型2】If sometimes we don’t agree with our parents’ decisions, we should try to put ourselves in their shoes and we will soon understand them.(运用了if引导的条件状语从句) 第二节(满分25分) 67. Daniel was a 12-year-old boy who loved trying new things. Seeing Daniel fall over several times, his father went over to him. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】例文 Seeing Daniel fall over several times, his father went over to him. “Let me help you, Daniel,” he said. He held the back of the bike and ran slowly beside it. “Keep your eyes forward, and ride at a steady speed,” his dad told him. Daniel followed the advice. He felt the bike become more stable, and he started to relax. After a while, his dad let go of the bike gently. When Daniel looked back and saw his dad standing there, smiling, he realized he was riding on his own” He shouted happily, “Dad, I did it I can ride a bike” That day, Daniel rode his bike around the park for a long time. The wind blew through his hair, and he felt like he was flying. He knew that learning to ride a bike wasn’t easy, but he was glad he didn’t give up. Later, when he told his dad how happy he was, his dad patted his head and said, “I’m proud of you, Daniel. Trying new things takes courage, and sticking to them even when it’s hard is what makes you grow.” Daniel nodded. He thought to himself that this birthday bike was the best gift he’d ever had. 词汇激活 行为类 ①意识到:realize /be aware of ②.大叫:shout /yell ③.坚持:stick to/ insist on 情绪类 ①.
