OK, now please allow me to elaborate on my teaching design. This is a viewing workshop session taken from unit three celebrations from the 1st textbook published by Beijing Normal University Press, and my topic will be focused on how to facilitate this viewing session based on this deep learning concept.

【教学理念】
So according to our curriculum standards, we should guide students to learn and use English to introduce fine traditional Chinese cultures, and they should always develop this awareness to spread those cultures to the world. And also, AI-empowered teaching is also encouraged either in our curriculum standards or in those in those documents of the government. We should use AI safely, appropriately and also effectively to support our teaching and also provide students with a personalized learning experience.
因此,根据我们的课程标准,我们应引导学生学习并运用英语介绍中华优秀传统文化,并培养他们向世界传播这些文化的意识。此外,无论是在课程标准中,还是在政府相关文件中,都鼓励开展人工智能赋能教学。我们应安全、恰当且有效地使用人工智能来支持教学,并为学生提供个性化的学习体验。
And my teaching also draws significantly on the concept of deep learning. It demonstrates five features, which emphasizes this multidimensional exploration of the knowledge, and also encourage students critical analysis and also connection to our real life contexts. So I believe this deep learning concept also aligns with the goals outlined by our curriculum standards.
我的教学也大量使用了了深度学习理念。该理念具有五个特征,强调对知识的多维度探究,并鼓励学生进行批判性分析,同时将知识与现实生活场景相联系。因此,我认为这一深度学习理念与课程标准所设定的目标是一致的。

So this text is a video introducing some basic information about paper cutting, including origin, definition, purposes, etc. And it follows this general two specific structure. And the speaker in the lecture actually made very clear explanations of paper cutting, the art form also with a lot of rich visual elements, so students are expected to experience the unique charm of our Chinese paper cutting, and also they will learn how to promote and appreciate this paper cutting, this fine traditional Chinese culture.

【学情分析】
So my students, they have some basic knowledge and also cultural affinity about this paper carding art form, because we actually we see them a lot in our daily lives, and my students also have the ability to capture visual elements and audio information using a mind map. They can do this very quickly in class for the learning needs. I believe they are going to introduce the basic information about paper cutting after class, and also, more importantly, they need to explore the value of paper cutting, not only as a common art form, but more importantly, as an intangible cultural heritage that we should be proud of.

【教学目标】
And so based on the analysis of my students and the teaching materials, I have set my teaching objectives as follows.(1) So the 1st one, they're going to acquire those key information and try to organize them in the form of a mind-map.(2) And then they're going to introduce, also design and even interpret this paper cutting works on their own with the help of these artificial intelligence. (3)And thirdly, they are going to evaluate this value of paper cutting as an intangible cultural heritage. And Moreover, they are going to put their knowledge into practice and trying to provide voice over narration for these promotional videos I offered in class.
因此,基于对学生和教材的分析,我制定了如下教学目标。第一个目标是,学生们将掌握核心信息,并尝试以思维导图的形式进行整理。第二个目标是,学生们将借助人工智能工具,自主介绍、设计甚至解读剪纸作品。第三个目标是,学生们将评价剪纸作为非物质文化遗产的价值。此外,学生们将把所学知识付诸实践,尝试为我在课堂上提供的宣传视频配旁白。
因此,教学重点在于让学生们掌握与剪纸相关的英语表达,以便他们能够运用思维导图获取和整理信息。而教学难点在于学生们如何准确表达剪纸的文化内涵。
【教学过程】
So now going to introduce the teaching procedures in detail.
[Activate and Share]
So in the very beginning, as this is the last class of that day, so I'm going to use this little paper cut as a way to arouse their interest in the very beginning of the class. And also this brainstorm will help me to activate my students prior knowledge, and also introduce some relevant vocabulary and also cultural elements for this topic.

[View and Learn]
And after that, in the viewing and learning session, basically they are going to first view for the general idea, get a basic structure or the framework about how how the lecture works. And then they're are going to add more details for this lecture by organizing this information clearly. And this viewing is divided into two parts, so as the students can acquire information very efficiently, and thus they can also prepare themselves with the knowledge that is necessary for the tasks later.

[Introduce and design]
And this part is actually when they can internalize and also communicate what they have learned in the previous sessions.They are going to introduce paper cutting and also design their paper cuts in these real life scenarios, so that they can actually doing this internalization in a creative and fun way so as to improve the efficiency in class.接下来是知识内化与交流环节。学生们将在真实生活场景中介绍剪纸并设计自己的剪纸作品,通过富有创意且有趣的方式内化知识,提升课堂效率。
[Think critically]
And also after that, I will lead them to think critically and reflect on this art form. I will try to ask them to conclude the themes they have already offered in class, and also raise a question about why we should regard this paper cutting as a world, intangible cultural heritage. So here they can further explore the value of paper cutting, which is also one of the purposes, the teaching objectives of my class. 之后,我会引导学生对这一艺术形式进行批判性思考与反思。我会让他们总结课堂上讨论过的主题,并提出一个问题:为什么我们要将剪纸视为世界非物质文化遗产?通过这个问题,学生们能进一步探究剪纸的价值,这也是我本节课的教学目标之一。
[Write and Promote]
And in the group project, they are going to write subtitles and try to provide voice for this video. And they focus different aspects, which we have actually learned in this class. So during this process, they are going to consolidate and transfer knowledge in this very engaging form.
And for homework, they're going to deepen the as-thematic understanding of the class and try to transfer their acknowledge and in another form, another similar task. And for homework, they're going to deepen the thematic understanding of the class and try to transfer their knowledge through another similar task. Therefore, they can become active culture promoters in this way.作业方面,学生们将深化对本节课主题的理解,并通过另一项类似任务实现知识迁移。这样一来,他们就能成为积极的文化传播者。
【板书设计】 And this is my blackboard design, but basically the blackboard design will change every time in different classes, because I want it to show the dynamics of students learning in class, so it can be adjusted flexibly based on students’ contributions in class.
【教学反思】
第一个亮点 :深度融合深度学习理念
And as for my highlights in this class, I first want to mention how I try to incorporate the concept of deep learning in my teaching. So you can see this chain of activities and questions are actually trying to guide students from the acquisition of the basic information about paper cutting to this real application of the knowledge in the different real life context. And also they need to try to strive to understand paper cutting not only as an art form or something like a common object, but also as a way to express our understanding, emotions and our best wishes, and also as a cultural intangible cultural heritage.
And also I think this deep learning concept actually aligns with our activity-based approach, which starts from the text and then have some index analysis, and finally try to go beyond the text to finish some real life tasks. So this is basically the outline of my class.
第二个亮点 :合理赋能人工智能教学
And another highlight I really want to emphasize is actually the proper use of AI in my class, because we can not really offer students this paper and a pair of scissors for them to make a real paper cutting in my class. So I choose this text- to- image tool for my student to visualize their design in their mind. They are they are not professional artists, but they can really have wonderful imagination. And I was mostly amazed by the creation of this one, this incorporation of of this western elements of Christmas theme in a Chinese form, and I can see the possibility of how cross culture communication can work in our teaching and learning.
And also, you may notice that I actually stopped my student from using AI to get answers directly in my class, because I don't want my students to really depend on this AI as a way to get answers. They also need to develop their critical thinking ability to internalize the language and try to develop their critical thinking abilities instead of just getting some answers directly from a tool. So this is also, I think, both the students and teachers should pay attention to in this age of AI :to use it appropriately, safely and efficiently. So that's basically all for my elaboration.
