Victor doesn’t like doing sports at all. Last year, his father gave him the choice of learning soccer or charreria, one of Mexico’s best-known and most popular sports. In order to keep him going, Victor’s father promised (许诺) to exercise with him.
So Victor is now attending a Mexican school training young people in traditional cowboy skills. The school, which opened in 2016, offers free classes to young “charros (墨西哥牛仔)”. Newcomers and foreigners are welcome. Anyone can learn, of any nationality, as long as he or she wants to. Today, there are about 100 students, both girls and boys. They take part in three hours of training twice a week to improve their skills.
The first challenge is to learn how to throw a lasso (套索) around the neck of a calm bull. When students have learned that, they progress to getting on a horse using stirrups (马镫). Then comes learning to ride the horse and finally to lasso moving animals. So far, Victor has learned to ride a horse, as well as throw a lasso.
Professional(专业) charros also get along well with horses. They follow strict training and pay great attention to their horses’ reactions (反应). For them, charrería is a way of life. Respecting and caring for animals is a must. Charrería is not just a weekend fun activity.
“Charrería has grown a lot at the national level,” said De la Torre, who set up the school. “Most of the students at the school don’t come from a charro family, but they like it. Becoming a charro really takes a lot of hard work. However, professional charros pay well. And the best age to start learning is 6 years old, but many students begin as teenagers.”

A. Practice makes perfect. B. It’s never too old to learn.

35. Which of the following is TRUE about Victor’s school?

The old lanes (巷子) of the Beijing hutongs, many were hundreds of years ago during the Ming and Qing dynasties. They keep not only the traditional culture but also the way of life in the past. People can go shopping, eat delicious food and watch the street life by visiting the Beijing hutongs. What’s more, it’s a good way to learn more about the daily life of people in Beijing.
A hutong is a lane formed by traditional courtyard compounds (筑有围墙的院子) on both sides. The compounds are called siheyuan, meaning “four joined-together courtyard.” The hutongs have interesting names, which tell their origin (起源), location or history. They are in these gray lanes where kids talk and play.
One of China’s most famous writers, Laoshe, was born in siheyuan in the west of the city. The memories of his childhood in hutongs were so important to him that even after he had been away from Beijing for more than 20 years, he still clearly remembered them and wrote them into a novel called Four Generations under One Roof.
Now, Beijing still has about 400,000 siheyuan for people to live in. However, most hutongs are in great danger because people always want to build new buildings. So, we should try our best to protect Beijing hutongs, the treasure of traditional culture.

The panda is one of the most popular animals in the world. A wild panda can grow up to 1.5 meters long and weigh up to 80 kilograms. People think the panda is very lovely, so it is not surprising that the WWF chose the panda as its symbol. The WWF tells people about animals that are in danger and raises money to save them. The pandas live in the wild in China. In the early 1980s, there were only 1,000 pandas left in the wild. The main reason why pandas are endangered is that the area where pandas can live has become smaller.

The first challenge is to learn how to throw a lasso (套索) around the neck of a calm bull. When students have learned that, they progress to getting on a horse using stirrups (马镫). 根据“By 2040, there ... 12 million robot taxis in China, followed by the US with around 7 million.” 故填will be。
根据“However, some people ... about the safety.”
根据“Once, one such car ... in front of a bag and caused (导致) a traffic jam.”
根据“Another time, two cars slowed down to face each other and did not know what ... next.” 故填to do。

根据“Also, it’s not clear who should be responsible (负有责任的) when something ... wrong—the company that owns the robot car, the person who designed it, or both.”
根据“the government made a set of new rules ... the safety of self-driving cars.” 故填to improve。
