One evening, after having supper with my parents silently, I finished my homework a little earlier than usual. Seeing my parents still being busy with housework, suddenly, one thought came to my mind. I decided to write a note to Mom and Dad. I was a young teenager and it was the first time that I ever wrote something that wasn’t school homework. At that moment, I just wanted to let Mom and Dad know I loved them, how much they meant to me, and how grateful I was to them for all that they gave to their daughter. Being too shy to say these things face to face, I wrote them down in a note for my parents to find after I went to bed.
Later that night, I heard a gentle knock at my door. Sleepily, I got out of bed and opened the door up. There were Mom and Dad with a look of such love on their faces. Mom and Dad hugged me and thanked me for my note. I even could see tears in Mom’s eyes. Seeing the happiness I gave them made my own heart jump for joy. I was amazed that my simple words could touch them so much.
That beautiful memory has stayed alive in my heart ever since. I began to share my stories online with thousands of people all over this world: It reminds me not to be shy about sharing happiness with this world. They can be thanks, hugs and smiles. They can even be a simple note written with love.

Doctors say anger can be a harmful emotion (情绪), unless you learn how to deal with it. They warn that anger can lead to heart disease, stomach problems, headaches, and even more serious problems.
51 Some people express anger openly in a calm reasonable way. Some give out their anger by crying loudly. But other people keep their anger inside. They can not or will not express it. This is called repressing anger.
For years many doctors thought that repressing anger was more dangerous to a person’s health than expressing it. They said that when a person is angry, the brain gives out hormones (荷尔蒙). 52 In general the person feels excited and ready to act.
Some doctors say that both repressing and expressing anger can be dangerous. They believe that those who express anger suddenly may be more likely to develop heart disease, and they believe that those who keep anger inside may face a greater danger of high blood pressure (压力).
53 They say the first step is to admit that you are angry and try to find the real cause of the anger, then decide if the cause is serious enough to get angry about. If it is, they say, “ 54 Wait until your anger has cooled down and you are able to express yourself calmly and reasonably.”
Doctors say that a good way to deal with anger is to find humor in the situation that has made you angry. 55
A.Do not express your anger while angry.
B.Anger may cause you very serious problems.
C.They speed the heartbeat and raise blood pressure.
D.They said that laughing is much healthier than anger.
E.Doctors say the key is learning how to deal with anger.
F.Anger is a common emotion that we all feel from time to time.

Beijing Opera is one of the traditional Chinese drama art forms with a history of more than 200 years. It is said that Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty loved the theatre. At the beginning, there was no Beijing Opera. Kunqu Opera was the most popular, but Emperor Qianlong gradually became bored with this style. Various local operas were brought to Beijing to please the emperor. Drawing on the good points of these local operas, the new Beijing Opera came into being and became Qianlong’s favorite.
Beijing Opera mixes different art forms, including singing, dancing, acrobatics and Wushu. All these art forms are put into one performance. Facial painting (脸谱) is one of the most important signs of Peking Opera. It shows the roles’ personalities. For example, a red face usually shows the role’s bravery; a white face shows the treachery and guile; a black face shows the role is a strict man.
Beijing Opera has spread to many other places. Mei Lanfang, a famous performer, was the first to introduce Beijing Opera to foreigners and made highly successful tours to foreign countries.
“You will doubt and sometimes be a little bored, but you will be interested gradually. You will be strongly attracted to Beijing Opera, even if you know nothing about the drama background.” This is how one traveler described his first experience in watching Beijing Opera.
Beijing Opera is China’s national opera and it is full of Chinese cultural traditions. Welcome to China and enjoy Beijing Opera.
