Our world is a big family of nature. Plants, animals, and many other living things work together to keep our Earth healthy and happy. In hot deserts, we find special (特殊的) plants called cactuses. They have big stems to keep water, so they can live with little rain. Cactuses have spines to stop animals from getting to them. They look different in many ways, some are small and others big. Plants give us oxygen and food. If there are no plants, we can’t live. Animals are important too. They help plants grow by moving a kind of powder (粉末) from one flower to another. We call this “pollination”. People also live in deserts. They build houses to stay cool. These houses have special ways to keep the hot sun out and let in fresh air. They do not use much water and are friendly to the desert world. We should love and look after all the living things in nature. When we do this, we help keep our Earth clean and safe. Let’s be friends with nature and take care of Mother Nature. 1.What do plants, animals, and other living things do for our Earth? A.They make it bad. B.They keep it open all year long. C.They make it colorful. D.They keep it healthy and happy. 2.Where would you look for cactuses? A.In the house. B.In hot deserts. C.In the forests. D.On the mountains. 3.What does the underlined word “pollination” in Paragraph 3 mean in Chinese? 4.How do desert houses help people stay cool? A.By using a lot of water. B.By letting in hot air. C.By keeping the hot sun out. D.By opening all windows. 5.What can we learn from the text? A.Cactuses use small stems to keep water. B.Animals help plants by making sunlight for them. C.People in deserts build houses with a lot of water. D.We should take care of nature and help keep Earth clean. Can plants talk? Modern research has found something amazing: they do communicate with each other. It has been known for some time that plants use chemicals to communicate with each other. This happens when a plant gets attacked by insects. The plant gives out chemicals from the leaves that are being eaten. This is like a warning, or a call for help: “I’m being attacked.” When another plant gets the chemicals, it starts to give out its own, different chemicals. Some of these chemicals drive insects away. Others attract the wasps (黄蜂)! The wasps kill the insects that are eating the plants. Scientists hope to learn more about this plant warning system, so that we can use it to grow more crops. More surprisingly, plants also use sound to communicate. People can’t hear these sounds; but plants are making them. Some plants make noises with their roots. Chili plants do this. Some trees make clicking noises when there is not enough water. Most surprisingly of all, plants have an amazing system of communication that can link nearly every plant in a forest. Scientists call this system the “wood wide web”. The wood wide web is linked underground by fungus (真菌). It links the roots of different plants to each other. It is in some ways similar to the Internet we use. Using the wood wide web, plants can share information and even food with each other. However, it may lead to bad effects. Plants may use it to steal food from each other, or spread chemicals to attack other plants. Perhaps one day scientists will learn how to create a “firewall” to help prevent these attacks within the wood wide web. Scientists are learning more every day about the secret ways in which plants talk to each other. Maybe one day we will know enough about plant communication to be able to “talk” with them ourselves. 1.What will plants do when they are attacked by insects? A.They will kill the insects by themselves. B.They will send out signals to ask for help. C.They will control the wasps to kill insects. D.They will produce chemicals as a warning. 2.How is the wood wide web linked by fungus? A.By creating a firewall for plants. B.By making noises with their roots. C.By sharing food and information with plants. D.By connecting the roots of plants to each other. 3.What can be the best title for the passage? A.The Secret Language of Plants B.How Plants Protect Themselves C.Why Scientists Do Research about Plants D.The Study about the Plant Warning System Scientists have found that plants can make sounds. A scientist Lily Hadany and her team recorded (录制) tomato plants at different times. It showed that the plants made ultrasonic (超声波) sounds. Humans could only hear them with the help of a computer. They were noises like clicking (咔哒声) sounds. As the scientists studied the sounds, they began to find some interesting facts. Plants made different sounds at different times. They hardly clicked when they had enough water, but as the earth got drier, they clicked more and more. Scientists also found that plants made sounds when they got hurt. When scientists cut off a leaf from the plants, the plants also clicked more. But the clicking wasn’t the same as when the plants needed water. Some scientists trained a computer AI system to identify the different kinds of clicking sounds. It was able to find the difference between plants that needed water and plants with cuts. It means that one day we may be able to use these sounds to figure out when it is in a difficult time, and what problem it is having. That could be very helpful to farmers. The team’s finding changes our ideas about plants. As Dr. Hadany says, “Even in a quiet field, there are sounds made by plants, and those sounds carry information and may help us a lot.” 1.If you want to hear the sounds of plants, which of the following may you need? A. B. C. D. 2.How does the computer AI system help farmers? A.Water plants when needed. B.Know the plants’ problems. C.Find different kinds of plants to grow. D.Enjoy plants’ clicking sounds. 3.What is the main idea of the passage? A.Scientists find some interesting facts. B.Scientists create a computer AI system. C.Plants can make sounds. D.Plants help humans a lot. 4.What is the structure (结构) of the passage? A. B. C. D. Golden and red leaves are always the things in autumn. But because of warming weather, a warmer autumn makes the leaves change the color later. Today, red leaves in some countries have arrived one month later than they did over 100 years ago. Some leaves even fall before turning red. We might lose this beautiful color someday in the future. How do trees turn red? In spring and summer, trees make chlorophyll (叶绿素) to grow. When it gets cold, they stop making chlorophyll. The yellow and red pigments (色素) are under chlorophyll. They show up in autumn. The red color helps the trees beat the cold by... ·making the leaves warm ·helping trees take in the last nutrients (营养物) from the leaves before they fall Late red leaves can be bad for trees. ·Trees may have a shorter life. ·Trees may not grow well next spring. ·Some weak trees may die. 1.In which season do the trees turn red? A.Spring B.Summer C.Autumn D.Winter 2.Why do the leaves turn red later? A.Because of the warming weather. B.Because of the cold weather. C.Because of the trees’ shorter life. D.Because of the temperature. 3.The underlined words “take in” mean ________ in Chinese. 4.What can we know from this text? A.The green leaves can make the trees beat the cold. B.Late red leaves can make some weak trees strong. C.We might not see the yellow and red leaves in the future. D.Climate change has no effect (影响) on the time of leaf color change. Have you ever grown a plant like tomatoes and beans that you can eat at home? It is called (被称为) homegrown produce (自产农产品), because you can grow it at your home. You don’t need lots of space (空间) to grow produce. You can grow it in a pot (锅) or in a window box. It’s just as good and just as fresh (新鲜的). You don’t have to wait for it to come on a boat or a plane for a long time. You can just go to your gardens and pick (摘) a load (批) of fresh peppers or tomatoes anytime. Think about what you can do with your homegrown produce. You can roast it or toast it. You can bake it or put it in a pie. Anyway, you can cook it in any way you like. Homegrown produce is fresh! Eating fresh produce is very important. You and your family can eat the green produce that you grow in the garden. That is good for your health. But how do people have more fresh produce to eat? Some people like a program (项目) called Plant a Row (行,排). Here is how this program works. People in this program usually plant two or more rows of plants. They plant one crow of beans for their family and they plant the other row to give to a food bank If people don’t have enough food to eat, they can go to the food bank and get some food from others for free. Nowadays, some schools join the program, students can grow their own produce at school. They will eat the fresh food, take some home and give some food to the food bank. If your class plants a garden, you will need some useful tools (工具). And your teacher may need to help you with the work, take care of your garden and wait for the produce to grow, you will get more than you think. Growing fresh produce is a big job. You must wait for it to grow, but don’t give up! People will thank you for helping them eat healthily. 1.If we grow produce at home, ________. A.we need lots of space B.we need to cook them. C.Homegrown produce makes people eat more food. D.Students can grow and eat fresh produce at school. 3.What is the writer’s main purpose (目的) in writing this passage? A.To tell people how to cook homegrown food in different ways. B.To ask more people to grow their own food and share with others. C.To explain why the food from the supermarket is not fresh or healthy. D.To introduce a school program that teaches students how to plant beans. This term, students at Gaoxin Junior Middle School of Shenzhen Nanshan Foreign Language School can join their favorite club activity classes. There are 55 different clubs, such as sports and music, for them to choose from. They go to their classes every Thursday from 4:40 p.m. to 6:05 p.m. Students really like the soil and hydroponics club In each class, students first learn how to tell plants from one another and how to plant them in the right place. Then, they have 10 minutes to look closely at real plants. At last, they can plant their plants in the school garden! They need to find the best way to plant different plants. For example, strawberries grow well in water while apples love soil (土). “It’s interesting but also difficult,” said 13-year-old Wang Yijie, “In hydroponics (水栽培), different plants need to stay in water with different pH levels (酸碱值). So, I need to make the water right for each plant by adding acid (酸) in different amounts (量). This helped me learn a lot.” 1.When do students go to club activity classes? A.Every Tuesday morning. B.Every Tuesday afternoon. C.Every Thursday morning. D.Every Thursday afternoon. 2.What is Paragraph 2 mainly about? A.Some popular clubs at the school. B.The best way to plant plants. C.What students do in the soil and hydroponics club. D.How students learn to tell plants from each other. 3.What can we learn from Wang’s words? A.Wang doesn’t like this club very much. B.pH levels are important for hydroponic plants. C.Hydroponics is the hardest way to plant plants. D.Wang still doesn’t know how to change the pH level of water. The Christmas party is over. The gifts are opened. Now, it’s time for the Christmas tree to retire. Every year, people around the world buy lots of trees for Christmas. In 2022, people in America bought 20-30 million trees! But where do the trees go after the holiday? Many countries recycle (回收) the Christmas trees. For example, in Berlin, people take off toys from the trees and leave the trees on the streets. The trees will be sent to the power stations (发电站). Every year, Berlin recycles about 350,000 trees. They can make electricity (电) for 500 families to use for a year. In New York, people always send their trees to parks. There, the trees are cut into small pieces. The wood pieces are used in gardens to keep the plants warm. In some countries, many Christmas trees are sent to zoos. Once a year, elephants in Austria get their favorite food. The trees taste sweet. The lives of Christmas trees are short, but they bring people so much happiness. 1.What does the underlined word “They” in paragraph 2 refer to? A.Power stations. B.350,000 trees. C.Many countries. A.To ask people to recycle Christmas trees. B.To show the importance of Christmas trees. C.To tell people where to find Christmas trees. D.To stop people from buying Christmas trees. Nature is full of power but it is sometimes very interesting. Let’s take some plants as an example. Monster Flower The monster flower is the name of a plant. It has the biggest flower in the world. To people, the plant’s smell is really bad! But bees and other insects love this smell. And that helps the plant! Giant Tree Most trees are tall. But the tallest trees in the world are redwood trees. These trees are slow growers. It takes them 500 years to grow very, very tall and wide. Redwood trees are 300 feet tall. That’s about as tall as a stack of 40 school buses! Redwoods are 30 feet wide. That’s about as wide as 3 school buses side by side. Pitcher Plant The pitcher plant traps insects. This plant smells nice. Insects like its smell. But when an insect slips into (溜进) the pitcher plant, quickly, the pitcher plant catches it! Sundew Plant Insects love the leaves’ smell of the sundew plant. But when an insect creeps or lands on a sundew’s leaf, the insect can’t get away. The leaves are sticky. The insect is stuck (粘住). 1.Which of the following is TRUE according to the passage? However, flowers are more than just that; they really help us a lot in life. Let’s take a closer look together. Flowers change the environment in many ways. They add beauty to our cities and villages, making them lively They can also take in harmful (有害的) things from the air. For example, people often put a spider plant (吊兰) in their new house to clean the air. Many flowers, like chrysanthemums and lilies (菊花和百合), are often used to treat different health problems. Some flowers can also be used in cooking, adding special taste to the food. In Yunnan, a popular snack called flower cakes is made of roses. Moreover, almost each type of flower has its own flower language. People use them to show different feelings. On important days, such as birthdays and festivals, flowers are given as gifts. Take roses for example. They are the symbol of love and are usually sold out during the Qixi Festival. And on Mother’s Day, many people would choose carnations (康乃馨) for their mothers. Flowers also have cultural meanings. The plum blossom (梅花) often blooms (开花) in winter. In some Chinese poetry (诗歌), it stands for the power to grow even in difficult times and is often used to encourage people to never give up. And the peony (牡丹) means wealth and nobility (富贵) in traditional Chinese culture. 1.How does the writer start the text? A.By telling a story. B.By showing numbers. C.By asking a question. Some fig trees are pretty strange! Like most plants, figs start off as seeds. Sometimes, these seeds stick to a nearby tree. Do you know what happens next? The fig seeds begin to grow. They form “air roots”. These roots take food from the “parent” tree. Over time, the roots grow and spread. They plant themselves into the ground. After a while, the fig will completely cover its parent tree. The parent will die, but the fig will stay. Fig trees seem strange, don’t they? In fact, they are important for many animals. Some plants give food to animals. Other plants use animals as food! Wetlands have poor soil (土壤). How do the plants live in such poor soil? There is a kind of plants with leaves like open mouths. When a bug (虫子) lands on these leaves, they close quickly. The bug is stuck! Plants like these have special juices. These juices turn bugs into food. Even in poor soil, these plants have all the food they need! Why would bugs land on such deadly plants? These plants give off a sweet smell. Bugs are always searching for food. The sweet smell makes them want to land on the plant. Some plants kill bugs. Other plants make people feel better. What happens if you get a sunburn? There is a plant that can help. It’s called the aloe plant. The aloe plant produces a special juice. If you break an aloe leaf, the juice flows out. Put some juice on your sunburn. You will feel better soon! The Earth is a pretty exciting place. There are so many things to see! Take a walk through a forest or field and look around. There are strange and wonderful plants just waiting to be discovered! 1.Which of the following pictures matches the plant in wetlands? A. B. C. D. 2.How does the writer develop (展开) the passage? A.By giving advice. B.By giving examples. C.By showing numbers. D.By showing pictures. 3.The purpose (目的) of the passage is to _______. A.show readers how to grow trees B.tell people which soil is good for plants C.help people learn more about bugs D.share with readers facts on strange plants 4.The following sentence can best be put at the end of _______. They give fruit to eat and a place to live. A.Paragraph 2 B.Paragraph 3 C.Paragraph 4 D.Paragraph 5 Do you like delicious blueberries? If so, when you eat next time, take a look at them. Are they really blue? Not really. Take off the skin (表皮). The inside is white. Rub (摩擦) the inside of a blueberry on a white piece of paper. It is reddish-purple. And if you rub the outside of a blueberry, it gets almost black. But the moment you pick one, it does look blue. Why? ①The first way is through “structural color (结构色)”. ②The blueberry makes “structural color” in its own way. ③When the blueberry is full grown, it is black. ④But a thin layer of wax (蜡层), on the outside of the blueberry, gives it a blue look. The second is through plant pigments (色素). The pigments on the blueberry skin take in (吸收) green and yellow light and reflect (反射) blue light. That’s why blueberries look blue in our eyes. In fact, there aren’t any “true blue” in the plants. We can also see the similar features (特点) on the green leaves. The blueberry’s special color way is cool. It shows nature’s magic. More secrets in our nature are waiting for us to discover (发现)! Now your bowl of blueberries suddenly looks a lot more interesting! 1.According to paragraph 2, after you rub the outside of a blueberry, it almost looks _________. A.blue B.black C.white D.reddish-purple 2.Where should this sentence “There are two ways to make colors.” go in paragraph 3? A.Before sentence ①. B.Before sentence ②. C.After sentence ③. D.After sentence ④. 3.Which of the following probably shows why a leaf (叶子) looks green to us? A. B. C. D. 4.The author writes the passage mainly to tell us _________. A.why blueberries look blue B.how blueberries take off the skin C.why blue is special in the plant world D.how blueberries taste delicious 5.What does the author infer (推断) about nature in the end? A.It shows national magic. B.It has many kinds of fruit. C.It is too hard to understand. D.It has many undiscovered things. Young corn leaves can “smell” danger, but they lose this ability as they grow older, according to a new research by Lei Wang and his team at the University of Bern. Plants can sense danger through smells, even though they don’t have noses. They can smell insect saliva (唾液). For example, when an insect eats corn leaves, the plant can smell the insect’s saliva and prepare to protect itself. Scientists have known this for a long time, but they didn’t know which parts of plants sense danger or how they do it. Wang’s team first studied adult corn leaves but found they didn’t produce many defense chemicals (防御化学物质) when in danger. So they had to turn over a new leaf. They studied young leaves instead, because they were better at “smelling” danger. In lab tests, young leaves produce more defense chemicals than adult leaves. However, adult leaves could still notice other dangers, like insects eating them. The researchers think young leaves are better at sensing danger because they are weaker and are at the top of the plant. From there, they can smell things from far away. This helps the plant get an early warning. Wang hopes this research will help develop smarter crops that can fight insects, cutting down the need for harmful pesticides (杀虫剂). By doing this research, he wants to help solve big farming problems. 1.How do plants notice danger, according to the text? A.By smelling insects’ saliva. B.By watching insects eating plants. C.By turning toward the danger. D.By killing insects with chemicals. 2.What does the underlined phrase “turn over a new leaf” in the passage mean? A.Improve a leaf’s health. B.Study a different leaf. C.Grow a fresh new leaf. D.Change the smell of a leaf. 3.Why are young leaves better at sensing danger? A.They get hurt more easily. B.They can kill insects quickly. C.They are stronger than adults. D.They grow faster than adult leaves. 4.What probably will Lei Wang do in his future work? A.He will test leaf chemicals. B.He will create stronger pesticides. C.He will grow crops against insects. D.He will study old leaves’ problems. 5.Which is the best title for the passage? A.The Secret Life of Plants B.Young Corn Leaves’ Special Ability C.A Study on Corn and Insects D.Farmers’ Fight Against Plant Insects A sunflower’s life begins with a seed. Plant the seed under the soil (泥土). With enough water and sunlight, the seed will sprout (发芽) in about one week. When the sunflower grows up out of the soil, its roots grow down. These roots absorb water and food from the soil, helping the sunflower to grow. A stem grows higher above the ground. Water and food go up through the roots, through the stem, and into the leaves. Thirty days after the plant comes out of the ground, the flower of the sunflower plant begins to grow. The flower is round with yellow petals (花瓣). The sunflower uses sunlight in a special way. The leaves of the sunflower turn sunlight into energy (能量) for the plant. When leaves make the energy, they make oxygen, too. When the sunflower comes to the end of its life, the sunflower seeds dry up. Some of them fall into the soil and grow into sunflowers the next year. Birds eat some of the seeds. People take the sunflower seeds and eat them, too. The seeds also have sunflower oil (油) in them. People use it for cooking. Like all other plants, the sunflower is very important for life on Earth. It gives us oxygen. It gives food to people and animals. And it brings color and beauty to our world. We must remember to take care of the plants in our world. 1.How many days will the seed usually take to sprout? A.1 day. B.3 days. C.7 days. D.15 days. 2.What is the meaning of the underlined (划线的) word “absorb”? A.Stop. B.Meet. C.Leave. D.Take in. 3.What is the right order (顺序) of a sunflower’s growth? ①A stem grows higher.     ②A flower begins to grow.     ③The sunflower seeds dry up. ④A seed sprouts out of the soil.     ⑤The roots grow down. A.④①②③⑤ B.④⑤①②③ C.⑤④②③① D.②③④⑤① 4.What can we learn from Paragraph (段落) 4? A.The sunflower seeds are very useful. B.The sunflower always faces the sun. C.The sunflower leaves can make oxygen. D.The sunflower stem is the food for birds. 5.What is the best title of the passage? A.The Life of a Sunflower B.The Seeds of a Sunflower C.The Importance of a Sunflower D.The Stems of a Sunflower No matter where you look outdoors, spring seems to bring with it lots of wildflowers, which provide us with nice colors and sweet smells. Joel Sartore, a photographer and environmentalist, has made a point of planting native (本地的) wildflowers at home and at his office. He also encourages his neighbours to start their own gardens of native plants. Why? Wildflowers need our help. In the U.S., Great Plains alone, over 33 million acres of wildflowers and grasslands have been lost since 2009, according to WWF. You’ve probably heard that wildflowers support insects like butterflies and bees, which play a huge role in pollinating crops (庄稼授粉) that we depend on for food. That’s just one of many ways wildflowers and other native plants are important to our earth. Native flowers are part of a living network. They lock carbon (碳) within soil, an important part of mitigating (减缓) changes in weather. They store water and nutrients, which are good for forests. And, of course, they look beautiful, making them an attraction in any place. “If we hope to encourage children to grow up fighting to save the planet, wildflowers are a perfect fit; they get kids thinking about nature with a sense of wonder,” Sartore says. “These places serve as outdoor classrooms, plus they clean our air, soil, and water.” But what can we do? You don’t have to be an eager gardener or have lots of land to put your effort into. If you live in a city, you can just plant flowers in a window box or on your rooftop. Another way to get involved beyond your own space at home is to find out how public green spaces near you are managed. You can also volunteer at a local nature center or community garden that is planting native plants. If you aren’t sure what types of plants are native to your area, ask at a nearby garden center or search online. “I believe that people want to help make the planet a better place, but they just don’t know where to start,” Sartore says. “Planting wildflowers and other plants is a great way.” 1.Why does Sartore plant wildflowers at home and at his office? A.To show what types of plants are native to the area. B.To encourage his neighbours to plant more native plants. C.To provide kids with some places as outdoor classrooms. D.To call attention to the disappearance of native wildflowers. 2.What’s Paragraph 3 mainly about? A.The power of wildflowers. B.The ways of planting flowers. C.The benefits of insects like bees. 根据“Plants, animals, and many other living things work together to keep our Earth healthy and happy.” 根据“In hot deserts, we find special (特殊的) plants called cactuses.” 根据“They help plants grow by moving a kind of powder (粉末) from one flower to another. A.The Secret Language of Plants B.How Plants Protect Themselves C.Why Scientists Do Research about Plants D.The Study about the Plant Warning System 【答案】1.D 2.D 3.A 【导语】本文主要介绍了研究发现植物会通过化学物质、声音和真菌彼此交流。 1.细节理解题。根据“This happens when a plant gets attacked by insects. However, flowers are more than just that; they really help us a lot in life. Let’s take a closer look together. Flowers change the environment in many ways. They add beauty to our cities and villages, making them lively (有生气的). They can also take in harmful (有害的) things from the air. Many plants are pretty, while others are a little strange. Fig (无花果) trees are fruit trees. They grow in hot, wet places. How do the plants live in such poor soil? There is a kind of plants with leaves like open mouths...”可知,这种叶子像张开的嘴巴的植物生长在湿地。故选D。 2.篇章结构题。根据“Fig (无花果) trees are fruit trees...Some fig trees are pretty strange!”,“There is a kind of plants with leaves like open mouths.”和“There is a plant that can help. It’s called the aloe plant.”及结合全文内容可知,作者主要通过举例说明不同植物的特性。故选B。 3.主旨大意题。根据“Many plants are pretty, while others are a little strange.”和“There are strange and wonderful plants just waiting to be discovered!”及结合全文内容可知,文章的目的是分享一些奇特植物的事实。故选D。 4.推理判断题。根据“Fig (无花果) trees are fruit trees.”和“In fact, they are important for many animals.”可知,无花果树对很多动物来说很重要,能为动物提供果实和栖息地,所以这句话放在第三段补充说明无花果对动物的双重价值最合理。故选B。 Do you like delicious blueberries? That’s why blueberries look blue in our eyes...We can also see the similar features (特点) on the green leaves.” 故选A。 5. 根据文章最后一段“More secrets in our nature are waiting for us to discover!” D。 Young corn leaves can “smell” danger, but they lose this ability as they grow older, according to a new research by Lei Wang and his team at the University of Bern. A.The Secret Life of Plants B.Young Corn Leaves’ Special Ability C.A Study on Corn and Insects D.Farmers’ Fight Against Plant Insects 【答案】 根据“For example, when an insect eats corn leaves, the plant can smell the insect’s saliva and prepare to protect itself.” 故选A。 2. 根据“Wang’s team first studied adult corn leaves but found they didn’t produce many defense chemicals (防御化学物质) when in danger. So they had to turn over a new leaf.” 根据“The researchers think young leaves are better at sensing danger because they are weaker and are at the top of the plant. From there, they can smell things from far away. This helps the plant get an early warning.” 故选A。 4. 根据“Wang hopes this research will help develop smarter crops that can fight insects, cutting down the need for harmful pesticides (杀虫剂). By doing this research, he wants to help solve big farming problems.” B。 A sunflower’s life begins with a seed. A.The Life of a Sunflower B.The Seeds of a Sunflower C.The Importance of a Sunflower D.The Stems of a Sunflower 【答案】 根据“With enough water and sunlight, the seed will sprout (发芽) in about one week.” 根据“These roots absorb water and food from the soil, helping the sunflower to grow...Water and food go up through the roots, through the stem, and into the leaves.” 根据“Plant the seed under the soil (泥土)...the seed will sprout (发芽) in about one week...its roots grow down...A stem grows higher above the ground.”,“Thirty days after the plant comes out of the ground, the flower of the sunflower plants begins to grow”以及“the sunflower seeds dry up”可知,向日葵生长顺序为:种子发芽→根部向下生长→茎部向上生长→30天后开花→种子最终干燥脱落。 根据“Some of them fall into the soil and grow into sunflowers the next year. D.The importance of the living network. 3.According to the passage, what might be the proper way to help with native wildflowers? A.Building a big garden near your community. B.Working as volunteers to help in local parks. C.Encouraging yourself to be an eager gardener first. D.Moving from the city to the village to grow plants. 【答案】1.D 2.A 3.B 【导语】本文是一篇说明文。文章主要讲述了Joel Sartore呼吁大家种植野花保护地球的事情。 1.推理判断题。根据“Wildflowers need our help. In the U.S., Great Plains alone, over 33 million acres of wildflowers and grasslands have been lost since 2009, according to WWF.” 根据“If you live in a city, you can just plant flowers in a window box or on your rooftop.”和“Another way to get involved beyond your own space at home is to find out how public green spaces near you are managed. You can also volunteer at a local nature center, or community garden that is planting native plants.”可知,为了保护野花可以做的有:如果你住在城市里,你可以在窗台或屋顶上种花,另一种在家里自己的空间之外参与的方法是了解你附近的公共绿地是如何管理的。你也可以在当地的自然中心或种植本土植物的社区花园做志愿者。选项B“作为志愿者在当地公园提供帮助。”符合题意,故选B。 22 同步新教材,周周有练习,月月有重点! 23 同步新教材,周周有练习,月月有重点! 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
