He is a rice scientist,a member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.He is called the “Father of Hybrid Rice”.  (2)Why did he begin research into hybrid rice? Because he saw people die of hunger in 1960.  (3)Why does Amy admire him? Because Yuan Longping spent all his life on the research and development of better rice plants and solved the problem of hunger for many people.  2.两人一组,阅读埃米的笔记,进一步尽可能地相互问答。 (1)When was Yuan Longping born? He was born on 7 September 1930.  (2)What did he do after graduating from college? He worked as a teacher in an agriculture school after graduating from college.  (3)Which country was the new type of hybrid rice introduced into in 1979?
