Step 2 Work on 1a 1.Tell a story to present new words. T:Yesterday my friends invited me to a costume party.I dressed up like Father Christmas.I sang and danced,and I gave gifts to my friends.I enjoyed myself very much.But I didn’t hold my cup of tea carefully.It dropped on the floor.The tea splashed on my hands and got my pants wet.I was so embarrassed,and my face turned red... 2.Ask the students to read aloud the words in the frame and put them in the correct columns in the chart. 3.Check their answers with the whole class. Step 3 Work on 1b 1.Ask the students to work in pairs and tell their partners something happened to them recently.Use two or more words in 1a. 2.Ask some students to share their stories in class. Step 4 Work on 1c-1d 1.Look at the pictures in 1c.Tell them these pictures are about April Fool’s Day.Ask the students to guess those people’s feelings. 2.Play the recording for the first time.Let the students listen and write down the persons’ names. 3.Let the students read the phrases in 1d and know what to do in the next step.Play the recording for a second time.Get the students to write D,N or J in 1d. 4.Play the recording once more.Let the students repeat and check the answers in 1c and 1d.
