预习指导
一、方法指导
1.预习Page 91~92上的生词,根据音标能读出这些词,并掌握其词性及汉语意思。
2.朗读3a中的文章,画出重点句子。
3.大声朗读并翻译Grammar Focus部分的句子,画出重点短语和句型。
4.完成4a-4c中的任务,小组核对答案。
二、预习检测
根据首字母及汉语提示补全单词
1.As we know,paper burns (燃烧) easily.
2.The moon was above (在……上面) the trees in the east.
3.People do not know the value of health till (直到) they lose it.
4.The sun rises in the east and sets in the west (西方).
5.If you travel by air,you must arrive at the airport (机场) very early.
课堂教学
Step 1 Leading in
1.Greeting.
2.Brainstorming:
Quickly ask questions about unexpected events happened to the students.
Step 2 Work on 3a
1.Show pictures on PPT about the September 11th attacks and other events.Talk about them and ask the students to learn the new words.
T:On September 11th,2001,something unexpected happened in America.A plane hit the World Trade Center.The buildings were burning.And the black smoke rose above the two buildings...
2.Let the students read the passage quickly and answer the two questions in 3a.
3.Let the students read the passage carefully and sum up the details about each event.
Step 3 Work on 3b
1.Read the instructions.Get the students to find the key words and difficult sentences.Discuss and learn these words and sentences.
2.Ask the students to finish the exercises in 3b.
3.Check the answers.
Step 4 Work on 3c
1.Read the words and expressions in 3c.Get the students to retell the story in groups.
2.Ask some students to retell the story to the whole class.Show some sentences on the blackboard to help.
3.Teach them how to save themselves or escape to safety when meeting with accident.
Step 5 Work on Grammar Focus
1.Ask the students to read aloud the sentences in the Grammar Focus until fluently.Find the sentences in different tenses.
2.Discuss the two past tenses.Compare them with each other and learn how to use them.
3.Give more sentences as examples.Get the students to sum up and learn the tenses.Teach the structures and their usage.
Step 6 Work on 4a
1.Ask the students to make sentences using by the time or before on their own.Remind them of the tenses.
2.Get the students to check in pairs and then in class.
Step 7 Work on 4b
1.Read the verbs and phrases in the box in 4b.Then ask individual students to write their past forms and past participle forms.
2.Let the students fill in the blanks on their own.
3.Ask the students to read out their sentences to the class.Ask them why they fill in the blanks with those words.
4.Check the answers.
Step 8 Work on 4c
1.Show the half sentences.Ask the students to make as many sentences as they can.Then ask different students to read out their sentences.
2.Get the students to write two true sentences and one false sentence.Ask some to read out their sentences.Let others tell which is false and the reasons.
