Today we are going to make chain stories by ourselves. Before we make our stories, let’s read a chain story together.
Once upon a time, there was a little boy named Tom.
One day, he sees a forest.
If he goes into the forest, he will find a strange house.
If he enters the strange house, he will see a big table with lots of food.
If he eats the food on the table, he will get magic.
If he gets magic, what will he do?

Now, everyone writes one sentence beginning with “If...” on paper as the beginning of a story. You can write anything you want with “if”.

Make groups on your own. Five people as a group, the first person picks one and reads it aloud. Others then add “if" sentences to continue the story.

1. 定义
if 条件从句也叫 if 引导的条件状语从句,用来表示主句动作发生的条件,意思是 “如果,假如” 。
2.结构
常见结构为 “if + 从句 (一般现在时) + 主句 (一般将来时)” ,也可以是 “主句 (一般将来时) + if + 从句 (一般现在时)” 。比如 “If it is sunny tomorrow, we will go to the park.”(如果明天天气晴朗,我们就去公园。)也可以说成 “We will go to the park if it is sunny tomorrow.”

主语是第一、二人称(I/We/You)和复数主语(如 They、The students 等)时,谓语动词用原形。结构为:主语 + 动词原形 + 其他。
主语是第三人称单数(He/She/It 等)时,谓语动词要用第三人称单数形式(一般是在动词原形后加 -s 或 -es)。结构为:主语 + 动词第三人称单数形式 + 其他。
