专题02 阅读理解(记叙文) 主题01 人与自我——叙事忆旧 Passage 1 (24-25九年级上·江苏扬州市仪征市联考·期末) I have been very lucky to make many trips to China. Though I have had some trouble with the language, I have never had a problem I couldn’t solve. As a native English speaker (土生土长的说英语的人), I can go almost everywhere in the world and find someone to communicate with. I never thought that someone who speaks only Chinese would have a lot of trouble in my country. Recently, the King family that I had met in China moved to Canada. I met them at the airport. My wife and I made meals for them and showed them around where we live. Everything seemed to go smoothly for the first two days as we looked for a car for them, showed them the way to different stores and the nearest city, Victoria. Mr. and Mrs. King had a two-year-old son and soon we became Nainai (grandmother) and Yeye (grandfather). We were having a good time but we didn’t realize Mr. King can’t speak English. Luckily, Mrs. King can speak very good English. Many people with Chinese background live near us. In fact, none of them speak Chinese. Mr. King can’t even buy a mobile phone without his wife’s help. He can’t talk to me, of course. By the third day, he felt lonely and worried. And on the fourth day, we decided to take them to a large Chinese community. Now, we often visit them and they visit us too. Sometimes Mrs. King would still like to live near us but Mr. King cannot. I feel bad because he seems very nice and smart but I can’t talk with him. It seems that neither of us will learn the other’s language because of our ages, maybe we will never have a friendly conversation. But we will think of each other as friends. 1.The writer doesn’t have any trouble in travelling around the world possibly because ________. A.he’s very lucky B.he speaks only English C.he’s good at speaking Chinese D.he is good at communicating with others 2.How did the two families feel on the first two days? A.Sad B.Happy. C.Worried D.Lonely. 3.Who can’t speak English in this passage? A.Mr. King B.Mrs. King C.The writer D.The writer’s wife Passage 2 (24-25九年级上·江苏南通市通州区·期末) It’s bad enough when the pressure (压力) is coming from your friends! That’s what just happened to me at my friend’s birthday party. Chloe invited only three guests: Mareya, Madison, and me. After dinner, we sang and danced along to our favorite songs. A little later, Chloe said, “It’s scary-movie time!” “You’re joking around again, right?” said Mareya. “The movie won’t really be scary, will it?” “Of course”, it said Chloe. “That’s the whole point. “Um, I don’t want to be a party pooper,” said Mareya. “But I m really afraid of scary-movies!” “Yeah,” I added. “When it comes to watching scary stuff right before bed, I get the worst nightmares imaginable.” “You’re probably remembering what it was like to watch scary movies when you were younger,” said Madison. “But it’s not like you are babies anymore. So come on! It’ll be fun.” “Exactly!” said Chloe. “My big brother has seen this movie five times, and he says ifs hardly even scary at “Besides,’’ said Madison, “it’s Chloe’s birthday wish. So don’t you think you should try to watch it, even for just a couple of minutes?”   “Well,” said Mareya. T guess just a couple of minutes could be OK.” I sighed. “I guess if it matters that much, I can try for a little bit too.” We got all set up with bowls of popcorn and started the movie. For the first couple of minutes, I thought Chloe’s brother might have actually been telling the truth. But as soon as the creepy monsters (怪物) started chasing everybody, all four of us jumped up and screamed! “That was really fun, Madison giggled. was so scared, I accidentally made my whole bowl of popcorn go flying!” Chloe laughed. “I know! I can’t wait for the next scary surprise.” “I can!” I said. “Is it OK if I go hang out in your room until the movie5s over?” “Me too...said Mareya. “Maybe you can just tell us what happened after?” Chloe was fine with that. Chloe and Madison had fun being scared during the movie, but not so much fun afterward. “Can we please turn the light on?” Madison said at bedtime. “I keep imagining there arc monsters in that closet.” “Good idea,” said Chloe. “There’s no way I’m going to close my eyes tonight.” “You know,” said Madison, “I think I’d better call my mom and get a ride home.” “You can borrow Oinksy (玩偶),” Mareya said, “He’s good at helping people sleep.” Here’s what ended up happening: Madison decided to go home, Chloe slept with Oinksy, and Mareya and I were extremely glad we’d watched only a couple of minutes of the movie! As far as your special situation goes, your friends can do a trick if they want to, but that doesn’t mean you have to do it. When there is pressure from your friends, the most important thing to remember is: Trust your sense no matter what! Oh, and if your friends ever refuse to remain friends unless you do what they want, you might want to try playing with some different people. 1.What does the underlined word “pooper” probably mean? Page, a great poet in interviews or documentaries, I always thought to myself, “I know that woman. I’ve seen the inside of her fridge.” I even considered writing to her to thank her for being patient with me that day instead of just sending me away. That meeting encouraged me to keep writing, even teens of years later. I was about to graduate from college then, strongly hoping to prove myself in the area of journalism (新闻业) . Weeks before, I had chosen P. K. Page to interview as my graduation project. My teacher, after reading my plan, didn’t exactly question my choice, but the message behind his expression was clear: P. K. Page had high standards for interviewing her. Down in her sitting room, there she was in an armchair, wearing a black sweater, like a strict judge on the stage, which made her seem a bit distant (疏远的) . All about her were perfect, but I remembered feeling a bit lost for the first sight. I didn’t think she smiled. I had prepared a series of questions, some good but some not. Before I could ask the second, P. K. stopped me and said, “Would you consider asking your questions another way? ” I realized that she could hardly stand talking to me any more. During our talk, I could feel that she was doubting if I was professional enough and I was wasting her time. Later, she asked about my dream. I nervously replied, “To be a writer like you.” She stopped and just watched me quietly. I felt like I was too nervous to know what was going on next. Finally, she said, “I’d like you to come and visit me again. ” My heart beat with joy. But then she added, “But not too soon.” Then she asked me to get some snacks and drinks. I rushed out to the fridge to get the things, and shared the rest private moment with such an icon in a state of relaxation, forgetting about the differences between us. 1.Why did the writer mention P. Then she woke up Phyllis and Peter. “We’re in the new house. There are no servants here. We must help Mother now,” whispered Roberta. Carefully the three children lit the fire and filled a kettle (水壶) with water. They hung the kettle above the fire. “Mother isn’t awake yet. Let’s go outside and sit on that flat stone,” said Roberta. “Perhaps we will see a train go by.” When Mother came out at eight o’clock, Roberta, Peter and Phyllis were all fast asleep in the sunshine. They had put the kettle on the fire at five o’clock: three hours ago. All the water had boiled away (烧干). Now there was a hole in the bottom of the kettle. The fire had gone out. “Never mind,” laughed Mother. “We can boil some water in a pan. And I’ve found the dinner.” She led them into the kitchen and pointed to a door. “Last night, I thought this was a cupboard. It was so dark. But look,” she said. Mother opened the door and the children saw a little room with a table in the middle. On it there was roast beef, bread and butter, cheese and an apple pie. “Apple pie for breakfast,” cried Peter. “What fun!” It was a wonderful breakfast. Go out to play but please be careful.” Roberta, Peter and Phyllis looked at each other. They were all thinking the same thing. “Let’s go down to the railway,” cried Roberta. “Listen!” said Phyllis. “I think I can hear a train.” Peter asked, “Do you think it’s going to London?” “Father is in London,” replied Roberta. “Let’s go to the station and find out”. —Taken from The Railway Children 1.What did the children do after getting up? Harald was still asleep. Carl called the air hostess (空姐). “Excuse me, what time do we arrive?” “At 11:30 p.m. local time, sir. That’s about half an hour from now.” “Thank you.” Carl changed the time on his watch. “Could I have a cup of coffee, please?” “Yes, of course, sir.” Carl watched her bring the coffee. “She walks like my daughter,” he thought. “And she is very young. She looks nervous, not sure what to do.” He drank the coffee and started to read his newspaper. When Harald woke up, Carl showed him a page in the paper. “Look. There you are,” he said. He pointed to a picture. In the middle of the picture stood Carl himself—a short thin man with grey hair, wearing a suit. Behind him, on the left, was Harald—a tall, strong young man, like a sportsman. Both men were smiling. “That’s you and me, outside the Embassy (大使馆),” said Carl. “You can show it to your sons. You’re a famous man, Harald!” Harald laughed and said, “I’m just a police officer. It’s my job to take care of you.” “But your children think that you’re a famous man. Here, take it, and show it to them.” “OK. Thanks.” Harald smiled, and put the newspaper in his coat pocket. “I’ll have a cup of coffee too.” He called the air hostess, but she did not come. Please don’t be afraid. There is a change of plan. We have to land (降落) at another airport before we finish our journey. There’s no danger. We will land in fifteen minutes. We sat at a table in the middle of the room and ate a delicious lunch. He told me that all the food came from the sea. “I love the sea,” he said. “It gives me everything that I need. Even my clothes come from the sea. It is a place of perfect peace. There are no governments, no taxes, and no wars. Here, I am truly free! I will never return to the land.” He took me to see the library which had thousands of books in many languages. Then he showed me the art gallery. It had many paintings by famous artists. The next room was a museum with all kinds of treasures from the sea. I had never seen such a good museum. Captain Nemo was very proud of his collection and very proud of the Nautilus (鹦鹉螺号). He told me that he had discovered a way to make electricity (电) using salt and mercury (水银). This electricity gave the Nautilus all the power it needed to move through the water. Huge pumps filled and emptied (排空) tanks of air and water to make the Nautilus sink or rise. After we got to the engine room, Captain Nemo showed me the engine and explained how it worked. The Nautilus was seventy meters long and eight meters wide. It had a cylindrical (圆柱形的) shape with points on each end and weighed 1,500 tons. “It’s a wonderful ship!” I exclaimed (惊叫). “I love it as if it were my child,” he replied. “How did you build it in secret?” I asked. “All the parts were made in different countries. I used different names each time I placed an order. I took all the parts to a desert island, and my workmen put them together. Then, we burned our workshops.” “It must have cost a fortune! Call...” Why did I notice that? I wondered, since I seldom look at such ads. I put the paper on my lap and closed my eyes, remembering what had happened many years before, when my family struggled to make a living on our farm. I, too, had wanted a violin, but we couldn’t afford. When my arms grew long enough, how I wanted one! But I knew it was out of the question. It was not a good year. The crops did not bring as much as we had hoped at harvest. Yet even though times were hard, I couldn’t wait any longer to ask, “Daddy, may I have a violin of my own?” Daddy looked sad. That night, and many following nights, I heard him remind God in our family devotions, “… and Lord, Mary wants her own violin.” One evening we all sat at the table. Daddy wrote a letter to his friend, Mr. Finkle, a fine violinist. When Daddy received a letter from Columbus a few weeks later, he announced, “We’ll be driving to Columbus.” The day finally arrived. After we got there, Mr. Finkle, a tall man, opened the door. “Come in!” He picked up a case, opened it, lifted out a violin and started to play. “Carl, I found it in a pawn shop for seven dollars. It’s a good violin. Mary should be able to make beautiful music with it.” Then he handed the violin to me. I noticed the tears in Daddy’s eyes as I finally understood. It was mine! When I was ready to join the school orchestra (管弦乐队), I trembled with excitement. I sat in the third row of violins and wore my white orchestra jacket like a royal robe. My heart beat wildly at my first public performance, a school operetta. I felt sure everyone in the audience was watching me. Daddy and Mother smiled proudly at their little girl. And soon I found myself in the first-violin chair. I thought of Daddy, who did all he could to fill my desires when I was young. I wonder if I had ever thanked him. At last I picked up the newspaper, walked to the phone and dialed the number. Later that day, a man knocked on the door. “My daughter wants a violin so badly,” he said, “How much are you asking?” Any music store, I knew, would offer me a nice price. But now I heard my voice answer, “Seven dollars.” “Are you sure?” he asked, reminding so much of Daddy. Later, I saw his wife and children waiting in an old car. The door suddenly opened and a young girl ran to him. She hugged the violin case against her, then dropped to her knees and snapped open the case. She touched the violin lightly as it caught the glow of the late-afternoon Sun, then turned and threw her arm around her smiling father. 1.What does the underlined phrase “out of the question” mean? We caught up with her for an interview. And here are some highlights from it. About cartooning Drawing cartoons had been a hobby forever. I’d make cards for friends and family with my drawings. But mostly writing was my job until one of my friends who worked for the American Girl magazine wanted me to do drawings. I did the art and that was the first time that I had ever seen my drawings in a book. It’s really fun. I record all my ideas and the things I see in my own life. I see everything in comics. The very first time I saw my husband, my thought was, “I know exactly how I would draw that guy because he had this really square face.” I prefer to see everything as a cartoon. About her favorite cartoon It’s really about my family. Early on, Claire dropped a roll of toilet paper into the toilet. It was a clean toilet, and we had to get the paper out and dry it off. I did a cartoon about that and that one was funny. We could not believe what happened. I really enjoy making a cartoon about a personal family moment. ________ I have a 14-year-old and a 16-year-old, both girls. They often are fine. But the one thing that they do not like is how I draw their clothing. Clearly, it’s not attractive. I just draw T-shirts with long sleeves (袖子) and long trousers. And there are a lot of complaints about that. I created one cartoon recently where my younger daughter Claire wrote a sentence for homework and then fell off the chair. She was very tired. And there’s another one where she holds onto my leg and wants me to take her into the kitchen to get a snack. Those are really my favorite ones for some reason. My older daughter Kate doesn’t pay that much attention. I spend my whole life watching them and cartooning about them. And the older they get, the less they care. Kate said, “If I see you drawing anyone rolling their eyes (翻白眼), I know it’s a cartoon about me.” 1.According to the article, Adrienne Hedger was a (n) ________ before becoming a cartoonist. A.interviewer B.housewife C.writer D.publisher 2.Claire and Kate complain much about their mother’s drawings because ________. A.they are too busy to finish their homework B.they are tired of being the models for her creations C.they are not satisfied with their clothing in her cartoons D.they are not willing to pay much attention to her cartoons 3.What’s Kate’s attitude (态度) towards her mother’s cartoons? A.She finds them really interesting. B.She doesn’t care a lot about them. C.She actively offers suggestions about them. D.She doesn’t like them and never watches them. 4.Which of the following would be the best subtitle (小标题) in ________ ? A.About getting along with her daughters B.About drawing cartoons of her daughters C.About watching cartoons with her daughters D.About getting her daughters to enjoy cartoons 5.What can be inferred (推断) about how Adrienne Hedger feels about drawing cartoons? A.She enjoys making cartoons, especially family ones. B.She was unwilling to draw cartoons at the very first. C.She is proud of her cartoons and believes they are perfect. D.She likes drawing cartoons on family members, especially her husband. I need a container.” “What kind of thing?” “I don’t know. A box? I need something strong to protect the things inside.” Mum looks around the room and thinks. Suddenly she has an idea. She goes to one of the cupboards and takes out a large old biscuit tin. “Here it is,” she says, opening the tin and looking inside. Jan looks at the tin. I was just thinking about how easily you picked up all these tricks of yours.” “No doubt,” Holmes answered with a smile. “Would you care to give me an example of my method of reasoning?” “With pleasure,” said Watson. “I can tell that you were quite absent-minded this morning.” “Excellent!” said Holmes. “How could you possibly know that?” “Because you’re usually a neat man, but today, you’ve forgotten to shave (刮脸).” “Dear me!” said Holmes. “I had no idea. Watson, that you were so clever. Has your eagle eye detected anything else?” “Yes, Holmes. You have a client named Barlow, and you’ve been unsuccessful with his case.” “Dear me, how could you know that?” “I saw the name on the outside of his envelope. When you opened it, you groaned (叹息) and put it in your pocket with a frown (皱眉). “You are indeed good at noticing things around you. Any other points?” “Yes, Holmes, you’ve put on your black coat, instead of your usual dressing gown. You must be expecting an important visitor.” “Anything else?” “I could find other points, Holmes, but I’m only giving you these few, in order to show you that there are other people in the world who can be as clever as you.” “And some not so clever,” said Holmes. “I admit they are few, but I’m afraid, my dear Watson, that I miscount you among them.” “What do you mean, Holmes? You mean I was mistaken?” “Just a little that way, I fear. Let’s go over your reasoning: I didn’t shave because I’d sent my razor out to be repaired. It’s a simple trick, and no doubt you’ll soon master it.” 1.What can you know about Holmes according to the conversation? A.He is good at reasoning. B.He often plays tricks on others. Page had high standards for interviewing her.”可知,作者老师的表情真正意味着作者采访P. K. Page会是一项艰巨的任务。故选D。 3.细节理解题。根据第三段“I didn't think she smiled.”可知b“她不笑”在前;根据第四段“Before I could ask the second, P. K. stopped me and said, “Would you consider asking your questions another way? ”)”可知d“她打断了我”在前,c“她让我换个方式提问”在后;根据最后一段“Finally, she said, “I'd like you to come and visit me again.”可知a“她让我再来拜访她”在最后。所以正确的顺序是b-d-c-a。故选C。 4.推理判断题。根据第一段“I even considered writing to her to thank her for being patient with me that day instead of just sending me away. That meeting encouraged me to keep writing, even teens of years later.”可知,现在作者对P. K. Page是感激的。故选B。 5.细节理解题。根据最后一段“Later, she asked about my dream. I nervously replied, “To be a writer like you. ” She stopped and just watched me quietly.”可知,是因为作者想要成为像她一样的作家,所以P. K. Page决定让作者再来拜访她。故选A。 主题02 人与社会——文学作品 Passage 1 (24-25九年级上·江苏扬盐城市响水县·期末) Roberta woke up early the next morning. Everyone was very hungry. “It feels like dinner because we were up so early,” said Peter, as he passed his plate for more apple pie. When the children had finished, they helped Mother put everything away in the right place. Then Mother said, “I’m tired. I’m going to lie down for a while. It was midnight. Here, take it, and show it to them.” “OK. Thanks.” Harald smiled, and put the newspaper in his coat pocket. “I’ll have a cup of coffee too.” He called the air hostess, but she did not come. Harald looked surprised. “What’s the matter?” Carl asked. “The air hostess…” Harald said. Carl looked up and saw the young air hostess. She was sitting at the front of the plane with two young men. (大笔的钱)” I exclaimed. “Millions of dollars,” he replied. “However, I have billions!” — Taken from 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea 1.Captain Nemo showed “me” many things except ________. Then he showed me the art gallery. It had many paintings by famous artists. The next room was a museum with all kinds of treasures from the sea.”可知,尼摩船长带“我”看了书、画作和宝藏,没有提到宠物。故选C。 2.词句猜测题。根据第二段“Huge pumps filled and emptied (排空) tanks of air and water to make the Nautilus sink or rise.”,这里“sink”和“rise”是相反的意思,“go down”表示下沉,与“sink”意思相近,故选A。 3.细节理解题。文章首先提到“We sat at a table in the middle of the room and ate a delicious lunch.”,即a;接着“He took me to see the library... Can’t pay much. A.Doubtful. B.Impossible. C.Natural. D.Certain. 2.Which is the correct order of the following events? ①I noticed an advertisement in the newspaper. ②My father’s friend, a fine violinist gave me a violin. ③I sold a violin to a father at the price of seven dollars. ④I joined the school orchestra and took the first-violin chair soon. ⑤My family led a hard life and couldn’t afford a violin that I wanted so much. A.①⑤②④③ B.①②⑤④③ C.⑤②④①③ D.⑤①②④③ 3.What can we infer from the passage? A.Mary passed her love to others in the way Mr. Finkle did. B.The young man’s family had no money to pay for the violin. C.Mary offered the violin to her friend’s daughter with pleasure. D.Mary knew why her father took her to Columbus before going. 4.What can be the best title for the passage? A.A violinist and a father B.A little girl and her father C.The violin in an advertisement D.The violin in the setting Sun 【答案】1.B 2.C 3.A 4.D 【导语】本文主要讲述了Mary看到报纸上有关希望购买小提琴的广告,会想到自己如何通过七美金得到第一把小提琴的,并在最后把小提琴以七美元的价格卖给小女孩的故事。 1.词句猜测题。根据上文“When my arms grew long enough, how I wanted one!” 故选A。 4.最佳标题题。本文描述了Mary和父亲以及小提琴之间的故事,最后她以七美元将小提琴卖给了一个需要它的小女孩。故事情感充沛,讲述了她对父亲的感激和她将爱传递给他人的行为,最合适的标题是“The violin in the setting Sun”,这个标题呼应了文章的情感和小提琴在她生命中的意义。故选D。 Passage 2 (24-25九年级上·江苏泰州市靖江市·期末) Interview with Cartoonist Adrienne Hedger During the past few years, cartoonist (漫画家) Adrienne Hedger has provided the world with her humor. 【答案】1.C 2.C 3.B 4.B 5.A 【导语】本文主要讲述了漫画家Adrienne Hedger在接受采访时的回答,讲述了她从作家成为漫画家的经历及画关于女儿们的漫画的相关内容。 1.细节理解题。根据“But mostly writing was my job until one of my friends who worked for the American Girl magazine wanted me to do drawings.”可知在成为卡通画家前是一位作家。故选C。 2.细节理解题。根据“But the one thing that they do not like is how I draw their clothing.”可知他们不喜欢我画的他们衣服。选项C“他们对她漫画里的服装不满意”符合题意。故选C。 3.细节理解题。根据“My older daughter Kate doesn’t pay that much attention. A.A Life in Poetry B.Power of Teaching Poetry C.A Show in Literature D.Beauty of Chinese Literature 【答案】1.B 2.D 3.C 4.A 【导语】本文是一篇记叙文。文章主要叙述了“诗词的女儿”叶嘉莹的一生。 1.主旨大意题。根据第二段“In my view, studying classical Chinese poetry can help me feel deeply, imagine widely, and look far into the future.”以及“The study of poetry is not a goal that I go for, but a strength that supports me when I meet difficulties,”可知,这些内容主要是在阐述她对学习中国古典诗歌的看法和感受,强调了学习诗歌对她个人情感和想象力的影响,对她是一种精神上的支持;据此可以推断,该段主要讨论了叶嘉莹为什么学习中国诗歌。故选B。 2.细节理解题。根据第三段“In college, she studied poetry from the Tang and Song dynasties with a famous master of Chinese literature Gu Sui, who greatly influenced her.”可知,叶嘉莹在大学期间跟随顾随学习诗歌,b“她跟随顾随学习诗歌。”排第一;根据第四段“Then, she moved to Canada in 1969.”可知,她在1969年搬到加拿大,a“她搬到加拿大。”排第二;根据第五段“At 92, she picked 218 ancient poems for kids and made videos to explain and read them.”可知,在92岁时,她为孩子们挑选古诗并制作视频解释和朗诵,这应该是在2016年,e“她为孩子们制作视频解释和朗诵诗歌。”排第三;根据第四段“In 2018 and 2019, she donated all her money, about 35.68 million yuan, to Nankai University.”可知,在2018年和2019年,她将钱捐给了南开大学,d“她将钱捐给了南开大学。”排第四;根据第四段“She was given The Touching China award in 2020.”可知,她在2020年获得了“感动中国”奖,c“她获得了‘感动中国’奖。”排第五,所以正确的顺序是b-a-e-d-c。故选D。 3.推理判断题。根据最后一段“It is Ye who makes me see the wisdom of a teacher and encourages me to become one.”可知,是叶嘉莹让她看到了教师的智慧并鼓励她成为一名教师,这表明戴锦华深受叶嘉莹的影响。故选C。 4.最佳标题题。综合全文可知,本文主要围绕叶嘉莹的一生展开,讲述了她与诗词相关的人生经历,包括学习诗词、传播诗词文化等;选项A“诗意人生”能很好地概括文章内容,适合作为文章的标题。故选A。 1 / 2 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
