Everyone has a dream, and so do I. When I was a little girl, I always dreamed of being different kinds of people. At first, I wanted to be a teacher because I thought it was cool to teach students new knowledge. I could see the sweet smiles on their faces when they understood something new. It felt like I was lighting up their minds. But later, after watching many exciting medical dramas on TV, I changed my mind. I hoped to become a doctor. I was deeply attracted by how doctors worked under pressure, using their skills to pull patients back from the edge of death. It seemed so amazing to me.
Now, as a middle school student, my dream is to be a scientist. I really like science, especially chemistry. I love doing experiments in the science lab at school. Every experiment is a source of wonder. Every time I see a chemical reaction happen, I feel so excited. I believe that science can change the world. I dream of making some great scientific discoveries in the future. Maybe I can find new ways to make our environment cleaner or develop better medicines to help sick people. I even dream of walking on the moon or travelling to Mars one day.
I know that the path to becoming a scientist is long and full of difficulties. But I’m ready. To make my dream come true, I am working hard at all subjects, especially math and science. I will also read more books about science and attend science lectures. I am sure that as long as I keep trying my best, my dream will come true one day.

If you have a big “bucket list” of places you have always wanted to see, choosing a holiday place might be easy. However, sometimes you might feel like you need a vacation, but have no idea where to go. There are more choices than ever before. So how do you decide on just one place? To help you with this, think about the following things.
The first thing is probably the most important. That is how much you want to spend. It will decide what sort of trip to go on. You will also need to think about what you want from your holiday. Do you want to rest and do as little as possible, perhaps by a pool or on a beach? Or would you like to do outdoor activities, or go sightseeing?
Weather is also another important factor (因素). For example, you may not want to do a lot of sightseeing in the south of Europe in the middle of summer because it’s very hot! How much time you have for a holiday is also important, especially when you’re traveling a long way. If you have two weeks away from work, you may not want to spend four of the days traveling or dealing with jet lag (时差)!
And think about your accommodation (住宿). Do you need a place that offers food, or are you happy cooking for yourself or eating in restaurants? What’s more, don’t forget about safety (安全). You should make sure it’s safe to travel around the place. And also be careful when you are alone or with your children.
The things above may help you choose your holiday place. So, pick the right place and enjoy yourself!
( ) 12. What does the underlined word “It” in Paragraph 2 refer to?
A. Time you’ll enjoy. B. Weather you’ll have.
C. Money you’ll spend. D. Accommodation you’ll find.
( ) 13. How many things are talked about when choosing a holiday place in the
passage?
A. Three. B. Four. C. Five. D. Six.
( ) 14. If you have two weeks away from work, and love outdoor sports, which of
the following trips is the best for you?
A. A ten-day water-sport trip to Hainan.
B. A two-week rest on the beach in Qingdao.
C. A four-day rock-climbing trip to the USA.
D. A one-week sightseeing in the south of Europe.
( ) 15. Which is the right structure of the passage?(① = Paragraph 1…)
A. ① / ②③④ / ⑤ B. ① / ② / ③④⑤
C. ① / ②③ / ④⑤ D. ① / ②③④⑤

Have you ever imagined traveling to space as easily as taking a vacation? With the development of technology, scientists believe that space travel might become a part of our lives sooner than we think.
Right now, only astronauts and a few very rich people can go to space. But companies like SpaceX and Blue Origin are working hard to make space travel cheaper and safer. Some experts predict that by 2050, common people might visit the Moon, Mars, or even stay in space hotels!
What could future space travel look like?
Space Hotels: Imagine floating in zero gravity (引力) while watching the Earth from a window! Orbital hotels could offer special experiences like spacewalks or growing plants in space.
Moon Bases: Scientists plan to build research stations on the Moon. These bases might become stepping stones (垫脚石) for deeper space exploration.
Mars Colonies: Elon Musk, the founder of SpaceX, dreams of building a city on Mars. But living there needs to solve challenges like radiation (辐射), extreme cold, and lack of air.
Is it good for everyone?
While space travel sounds exciting, there are some different ideas. Some people worry about:
The environmental problem: Rocket launches produce pollution.

Safety: Space is full of dangers like radiation and debris (碎片).
