UNIT 4 A glimpse of the future Ⅰ. However, the current model ... leads to another. 11.D 根据下文they were so close that the staff member ... on picking the right vegetables可知,工作人员能看到顾客的手机屏幕,所以他们相距只有几厘米远。 We prefer not to talk to each other anymore可知,这一切是在一句话也没有说的情况下进行的。 engage in a conversation表示“进行交谈”。end up最终,处于;engage in从事,参与;make up编造,构成;go on继续,发生。 pay the price for表示“为…… We shop ... order a taxi, all via an app. You might learn something ... our modern world. serve as充当,担任;refer to提到,谈到,说起;account for导致,解释,(数量、比例上)占;consist of由…… 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $ UNIT 4 A glimpse of the future Ⅰ.阅读理解 (2025·玉溪开学考试)Artificial intelligence(AI) models have long surpassed (超出) just creating text responses and images. Now, with only one sentence, OpenAI’s latest text-to-video model, Sora, can turn your words into video with good visual quality while completely following your content instructions. Sora is said to be better than many other existing models with similar functions. The AI model can create videos at suitable aspect ratios (屏幕高宽比) for different devices. It also lets users quickly test out content in lower quality before making the high-quality version, which helps speed up output according to the user’s requests. Apart from this, its ability to present videos in a realistic and smooth manner is surprising. Sora can create detailed scenes with several characters, specific types of motion, and accurate subject and background details. Beyond the user’s requests, it also understands how these elements exist in the real world. For example, reflections in the water change as a woman walks by. However, the current model isn’t perfect. It may have trouble accurately showing how things move in a complicated scene and might not get how one action leads to another. For example, if someone eats part of a cookie in a Sora-made video, the cookie might not look like it’s been bitten into. The model might mix up directions and find it hard to describe events in the right order. One possible reason is that Sora learns each basic unit of a video, known as a spacetime patch (时空补丁), independently. Sora is still in the testing stage of development. OpenAI is now inviting network security professionals to make random attacks on Sora’s system in order to test the model’s possible weaknesses and risks. Sora has also been open to some visual artists, designers and filmmakers. Their feedback will help OpenAI to improve the model to better serve creative professionals. 1.What is the main focus of Paragraphs 2 and 3?( ) A.Sora’s strengths. B.Sora’s weaknesses. C.Sora’s development. D.Sora’s popularity. 2.Why does the author provide the example in Paragraph 4?( ) A.To show Sora’s safety problems. B.To show Sora’s existing weaknesses. C.To show Sora’s perfect performance. D.To explain the concept of a spacetime patch. 3.What can we know about Sora up to now?( ) A.It is being tested and improved. B.It has enjoyed great popularity. C.It has made random attacks. D.It has been stopped. 4.What’s the best title for the text? ( ) A.Sora: A perfect text-to-video AI model B.Sora: A tool for chatting C.Sora: Known as a spacetime patch D.Sora: Lead the way in creating videos Ⅱ.阅读七选五 (2025·福建模拟)Aesthetic (审美) education aims to enhance aesthetic perception, experience aesthetic qualities, stimulate aesthetic creativity, and promote aesthetic judgement. For kids, in order to be able to appreciate natural wonders, shapes and pictures, they must be able to first notice them. This is why the development of the ability to notice the beautiful is the primary task of aesthetic education.5.( ) Kids are incapable of noticing particular shapes if their ability to notice objects and forms is undeveloped. The aesthetic relationship begins with the noticing of aesthetic qualities. 6.( )This means that they generate emotional responses like excitement and joy, enriching individuals’ emotional lives and inspiring artistic expression. The ability to experience aesthetically must also be developed. The cognitive (认知的) elements of the processes that we experience during noticing must also include emotional tones with which we form impressions. 7.( ) The aim of this task is, with the aid of aesthetic qualities, to enrich the emotional life of children and young people and the development of a sense of aesthetic values. It is essential to allow children to participate in activities that will develop their creative abilities. 8.( ) Instead, it is about creativity in the creation of aesthetic values in everyday life. We are not simply born with creative abilities which have to be developed. Judging or evaluating aesthetic qualities demands formed evaluation criteria. In order to reveal the true value of beauty, we must be familiar with its particularities. Throughout the process of aesthetic education, various types of knowledge, abilities and evaluation criteria must be applied. 9.( ) A.Aesthetic qualities have to be felt. B.Beauty can be found all around us. C.The beautiful will be likely to be created. D.And it is these that the aesthetic experience is built upon. E.In some way, this is the ability to perceive aesthetic qualities. F.This way, the child will develop the foundations for assessing the beauty. G.This is not so much about creating aesthetic abilities in the sense of training artists.
