Analysis of Teaching Material The teaching material is selected from unit 4 writing part—How to protect our earth. The main topic of this unit is protecting nature, Since it is writing, it is helpful to improve the students writing ability. 2.Analysis of Students The students in Grade 7 have the basic ability to write an article .Students have some ways to protect earth, but they need more practice in English and master how to write. So this lesson I design a writing about how to protect the earth. 3.Teaching Aim After this lesson, the students are able to: Language ability: ★ students can learn about earth. ★ master the important words, phrases and sentence patterns Learning ability: Practice students’ writing ability and improve students` writing skills, including how to organize an article and improve an article.Student understand article and improve them four skills. Emotional object: 1.Enable students to love and care our earth and nature. 2.Encourage students to do some things to protect our earth. Thinking quality: Develop their ability of thinking Independently. Develop their ability to discover, analysis and solve problems. 4. Teaching important and difficult points: Teaching important points ： Students can master important phrases, sentences ,words.And improve writing skills. It's on April 22. We want to protect our earth. Play a video about earth Ask students Do you know the Earth day? When is it? Why do we have it? Make students be interesting in earth. Step II: Pre-writing 1.look at the pictures and answer: this is air pollution, water pollution, and land pollution. students read together. 2.answer: we should protect it. 3.How to protect our earth?Think about some phrases and stick on blackboard. 4.talk about how to protect our Earth with partner and interview others. 1.Show some pictures about earth pollution Ask students: What can you see? 2.There is lots of pollution ,this made earth cry. Step III: While-writing. 1.Pay attention person, first person ,present tense,given points, our advice,60 words and structure : writing title, beginning, body and ending. .Given points and our advice:Save food, catch animals, plant trees, stopping plastic bags, cut down trees, throw away rubbish 2.Students talk and write. 3.Show their articles. 4.Students check their articles. 4.Students read following radio. 1.Teacher asks : Can you write an article to protect our earth? Look at the article. Let one student read the article, others think about how to write it. Teach how to write and give the structure and important tips. 2.Let Students talk and write. 3.Teacher check their articles. 4.Play a radio about the writing. 1.
