Yes, I have. Last year, my uncle sent me a building block set. At first I was excited, but I got bored after playing for half an hour. My dad, however, became super interested—he sat on the floor and built a huge castle with the blocks, and even played with it for the whole evening. Later he joked that the blocks were “his gift”!

◆ contain 表示 “包含,容纳,…… 的里面有或装着”。表示在某个容器或物体之内时,通常可与 there is/are...in 的结构互换;不能用于进行时形式。

◆even though 和 even if 均表示 “即使,虽然”,引导让步状语从句,两者可以换用。

【注意】even though/if 不能与 but 连用。

◆ not...until 为特殊句型,表示 “直到…… 才”。until 之后跟某个时间点,这个时间点可以是从句或名词。另外,until 经常与 till 换用。

He did not return home until/till midnight. 他到半夜才回家。

英语中的一小部分形容词也可用作副词,但大多数的英语形容词可在其词尾加上 -ly 变成副词,如 usual → usually, quick → quickly 等。以 -y 结尾的形容词则将 -y 改为 -i,再加 -ly。按照例子,将下列形容词变为副词并写出其中文意思。

(1)现在完成时(have/has + 过去分词)用来描写发生在过去不确定的时间内的行为动作(正确的时间不重要或没有提供),但是动作的结果现在还很明显。汉语中常用 “了”“过” 来表示。
I have finished my homework. 我把家庭作业做完了。
I have seen this film twice. 这部电影我看过两遍了。

(2)用来询问对方是否干了某事。

(3)现在完成时常和表示不确切的时间副词或短语连用。这些副词或短语有 just, already, never, ever, yet, so far, up to now, till now, never...before 等。
I have just received a letter from my brother. 我刚接到我兄弟的信。
He has already visited a great number of places. 他已经参观了好多地方。
The train has not arrived yet. 火车还没有到。

3. 现在完成时
(4)用来表示动作发生在过去并且一直延续到现在,甚至还有可能延续下去。这时常和 “for + 一段时间” 或 “since + 某个时间点” 连用;有时 for 可省略。“for + 一段时间” 表示动作或状态持续多长时间,而 “since + 某个时间点” 则表示动作或状态是什么时候开始的。
He has been there for six months. 他在那里待了六个月了。
He has been abroad since March. 从三月份起,他一直在国外。
