根据 Great Welsh Marathon 部分的“However, since it lies along the coast, it is likely to be influenced by the wind.”
根据 Rimi Vilnius Marathon 部分的“The route spreads through the World Heritage-listed old town”可知,Rimi Vilnius Marathon 的路线经过一个列入世界遗产名录的地区。
根据第二段“Getting to the southernmost continent first required... is just unbelievable and amazing.”
根据第三段“For Hamby, the best part of the trip ... have friends now all over the world.”
根据第四段“When it came to how their families felt ... I’m happy for her,”可知,Louise 对她母亲的旅行是持支持态度的。
根据最后一段“Hazelip hopes their story can encourage people of all ages ... Remember that age is only a number.”
根据第一段中“With fire within six feet of the Getty Villa on January 7, the museum’s strong protective actions became a great example of resilience.”
根据第二段“The Getty Museum’s workers, working 24-hour by turns ... carefully protecting the museum’s valuable collections.”
根据第二段中“The Getty Museum’s workers, working 24-hour by turns, checked the hilltops around both the Getty Villa and the Getty Center.”和第五段中“Meanwhile, the Getty Center’s architecture, designed by Richard Meier with fire-resistance in mind, has 1.2 million square feet of stone and huge open spaces to stop fire from spreading. The museum’s advanced watering system was... the treasures.”
根据最后一段“In the case of the Getty Museum, planning ahead protected its treasures. But in the future, as more disasters driven by the climate emergency must happen, the attention of normal people is important. We call for everyone to support efforts to make the city stronger.”
As more and more students use AI to help with schoolwork, we still aren’t sure about the effect it’s having on learning. To look into this, researchers from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology...
One group wrote all three essays with the help of popular AI chatbot ChatGPT. Another group used only the Internet for help, with AI answers turned off. And a third group used no outside sources at all.
34. A 推理判断题 根据文章第四段“It found that all nine people from the no-outside-sources group could remember all the topics they had written about before. But only three of those who had used ChatGPT could remember all of their topics.”

Good morning, everyone! With the sports festival coming, I’m honored to be here to share with you the benefits of sports.
Sports do have lots of advantages. Regular exercise contributes a lot to our physical health. In addition, doing sports helps us build up our strong will and determination. Take myself for example. As a result, I harvested an excellent study performance, which later increased my confidence. It is the workout that shapes a remarkable me.
Life lies in movement and let’s take action right now and enjoy sports together.
That’s all. Thanks for your listening.

On Teachers’ Day, the teachers and students were surprised to see Mohi walk onto the stage with a violin. They had never seen him play any instrument or sing a song in public. But as soon as he started to play, they fell silent. As the last note ended, there was a moment of silence, which was followed by thunderous applause. After the applause died down, Mohi cleared his throat and said shyly, “Thanks to my teachers and classmates for tolerating my absent-mindedness. Thanks to Hamed who always tries to see the best side of me.”

W:Can I help you, sir?
M:Yes, a vegetable salad and a cup of lemon tea.
W:Is that all?

Text 10
Hello, I have some information about your English classes. Listen carefully. The school opens on Monday and all students should do an English test then. Your first lesson is on Tuesday. There are three levels. If your lesson is too easy or too difficult, don’t worry. You can try a different level on Wednesday. Now, about the rooms. English lessons are usually taught in Rooms A, B and C. But when you go to do your test, please go to Room C. It’s the only one that’s big enough for everyone to sit in and write at the same time. English lessons usually start at eight and last for two hours. You have two lessons each morning with a twenty-minute break between them when you can buy some coffee and snacks. Your English test only takes an hour, however. So you have time to look around the school on your first day.

Does adventure have an age limit (限制)? Two close friends have given an answer to the question: NO. Ellie Hamby and Sandy Hazelip, both at the age of 81, encouraged by Jules Verne’s novel Around the World in 80 Days, are on a task to see all seven continents (大洲) in just over two and a half months.
Their first stop was a place that was not easily visited even by many experienced travelers: Antarctica. Getting to the southernmost continent first required crossing the Drake Passage. “For almost two days, we were rocking and rolling and slipping (滑倒) and sliding through the Drake Passage. It was just wild,” Hamby said. “But when we stepped foot on the ground of the Antarctic, we forgot all of that. The beauty of the Antarctic is just unbelievable and amazing.”
Over the past three months, the pair have ridden camels in Egypt, met elephants in Bali, and seen the Northern Lights in Finland. For Hamby, the best part of the trip was not the beauty along the way. “We love all the sights that we saw, but the things that we remember the most are the people that we met,” she said. “We met some of the kindest and friendliest people in the world. We just have friends now all over the world.”
When it came to how their families felt about their journey, Hamby said her daughter Louise was not too worried. “She just says, ‘Well, if Mom falls out of a hot air balloon in Egypt or off of the mountain ... That’s fine. She’s living the life she wanted to live, and I’m happy for her,’” Hamby said.
Hazelip hopes their story can encourage people of all ages. “Don’t sit in that chair and waste away,” Hazelip said. “Ellie has this wonderful saying; it goes ‘the world is a book and he who does not travel only reads one page’. So get up out of that easy chair, step out of your comfort area, make some plans and live. Remember that age is only a number.”
24. Which words can best describe Hamby and Hazelip’s journey to Antarctica?
A. Relaxing but short. B. Boring and common.
C. Well-planned and smooth. D. Adventurous but impressive.
25. What was the most unforgettable part of the trip for Hamby?
A. Seeing amazing sights. B. Meeting wonderful people.
C. Exploring unique cultures. D. Having her best friend’s company.
26. What was Louise’s attitude towards her mother’s journey?
A. Uncertain. B. Supportive. C. Doubtful. D. Anxious.
27. What message does Hazelip most want to tell readers?
A. It’s never too old to learn.
B. A friend for life is a friend indeed.
C. Seeing the world is not a must for the old.
D. It’s never too late to live life to the fullest.
C
As wildfires spread across Los Angeles, the J. Paul Getty Museum showed its strong disaster readiness. With fire within six feet of the Getty Villa on January 7, the museum’s strong protective actions became a great example of resilience.
The Getty Museum’s workers, working 24-hour by turns, checked the hilltops around both the Getty Villa and the Getty Center. The older Getty Villa, home to thousands of old and valuable objects, is located in the Pacific Palisades, while the Getty Center in Brentwood houses famous artworks like Vincent van Gogh’s Irises. Provided with fire extinguishers (灭火器), the workers checked the grounds for fire, carefully protecting the museum’s valuable collections.
The museum’s survival against the fires was unusual among the extremely harmful damage that killed dozens and destroyed thousands of homes. With $9.1 billion and years of experience in fighting wildfires, the Getty Museum had used millions in fire protection actions, like fire-resistant (防火) architecture.
When the fire put the Getty Villa at risk, President Katherine Fleming watched anxiously from the Getty Center’s control station, tracking the fire’s progress. The Getty Villa, built with fire-resistant concrete (混凝土) walls and roofs, remained unharmed though the fire was very close. The same was true for its priceless collection of 40,000 valuable objects.
Meanwhile, the Getty Center’s architecture, designed by Richard Meier with fire-resistance in mind, has 1.2 million square feet of stone and huge open spaces to stop fire from spreading. The museum’s advanced watering system was started quickly, wetting the grounds and further protecting the treasures.
In the case of the Getty Museum, planning ahead protected its treasures. But in the future, as more disasters driven by the climate emergency must happen, the attention of normal people is important. We call for everyone to support efforts to make the city stronger.
28. Which is the closest in meaning to the underlined word “resilience” in paragraph 1?

As more and more students use AI to help with schoolwork, we still aren’t sure about the effect it’s having on learning.
To look into this, researchers from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) asked 54 people aged 18 to 39 to write three essays (文章) in 20 minutes. One group wrote all three essays with the help of popular AI chatbot ChatGPT. Another group used only the Internet for help, with AI answers turned off. And a third group used no.outside sources at all. The essays were on topics about deep thinking, like whether we need to help others in order to be truly happy, or whether books and movies can truly change people’s lives.
People taking part wore special headsets that recorded their brains’ electrical activity while they wrote. Those using ChatGPT showed the lowest levels of brain connectivity, while those using only the Internet had greater brain connectivity. Those using no outside sources had the most connectivity. After they’d finished, the ChatGPT group was also the least able to repeat sentences from their essays.
( Eighteen people were later called back to rewrite one of their essays. This time the groups were changed—those who had used ChatGPT before now had to write with no outside sources, and those who had used no outside sources before could now use ChatGPT. It found that all nine people from the no-outside-sources group could remember all the topics they had written about before. But only three of those who had used ChatGPT could remember all of their topics. And those who had used ChatGPT before still showed weaker brain connectivity even now that they were writing without using any outside sources.
The study has not yet been checked by other experts. However, the researchers decided to share their results right away without waiting because of how important the findings may be for children’s education—and they felt the results should be seen as soon as possible.
32. Why did researchers carry out the study?
A. To test Internet’s practical value. B. To improve students’ writing skills.
C. To know AI’s effect on learning. D. To teach students to use ChatGPT.
33. What made the three groups different from each other?
A. The number of essays. B. Sources used for writing.
C. Time for writing essays. D. Topics of their essays.
34. What can be found from the further study according to paragraph 4?
A. ChatGPT users forgot more topics. B. Internet users wrote better essays.
C. No-source users repeated most essays. D. AI users had stronger brain connectivity.
35. What can be a suitable title for the text?
A. Ways to Use Outside Sources.
B. Why AI Is Less Helpful to Students.
C. AI Might Decrease Learning Effect.
D. How Memory Directly Affects Writing Process.
