让步状语从句

1. though/although引导让步状语从句

(1) though和although意为“虽然”，两者通常可互换

They are generous although/though they are poor. 他们虽然穷，但是慷慨

(2)though/although引导让步状语从句时，主句中不可再用but,可用yet

Though/Although she works very hard, but she makes very slow progress. ✘

Though/Although she works very hard, yet she makes very slow progress. ✔

她虽然努力工作，但进步很慢

拓展：though引导的让步状语从句还可以用于部分倒装(结构：adj./adv./v./n./+though+主谓)

  Young though he is, he is quite experienced. 他虽然年轻，但是经验丰富

2. even though/even if引导让步状语从句

even though和even if意为“即使，尽管”，表示语气更强的让步

Even though / Even if the learning is painful, the result is wonderful.

即使学习的过程充满艰辛，但结果却是美好的

Even though you don’t like him, you still have to be polite to him.  即使你不喜欢他，也得对他礼貌

3. no matter+疑问词/疑问词-ever引导让步状语从句

no matter+疑问词/疑问词-ever意为“无论…都… ”，但前者只能引导让步状语从句，后者除引导让步状语从句外，还可引导名词性从句，

Whenever I’m unhappy, my friend Lily cheers me up.  无论什么时候我不开心

=No matter when I’m unhappy, my friend Lily cheers me up.  我的朋友莉莉都会让我高兴起来

I’ll wait for you, however late it is.  无论多晚，我都会等你

= I’ll wait for you, no matter how late it is.
