专题02 阅读理解(说明文) 主题01 人与社会——科普知识 Passage 1 (24-25九年级上·吉林省长春市朝阳区长春外国语学校·期末) In small towns, people are used to saying hello to their neighbors in stores, on the streets and in front of their homes. In today’s city life, people may feel uncomfortable talking to neighbors they do not know well in line at the supermarket. But greeting your neighbors is actually good for you, especially if you say hello to six people, according to a recent survey. Saying hello to people increases well-being (幸福), but six is the magic number. The well-being score increases from zero to six and then there are no further increases. These results are part of the Gallup National Health and Well-Being Index which studies overall well-being and is calculated on a scale of  (在……范围内) 0 to 100. The survey was carried out from May 30th to June 6th, 2023 and was based on the answers from 4,556 Americans. It covered social well-being, physical well-being, community well-being and more. People who said they didn’t say hello to anyone in their neighborhood scored a 51.5. People who greeted six neighbors had a score of 64.1. You might think that saying hello to neighbors is only about social well-being, but that actually isn’t the case. In fact, regular (经常的) greetings also improve a person’s physical well-being and community well-being. ▲ You will be more likely to speak to people if you think your community is safe. Your physical well-being can improve if you are getting out and walking around your neighborhood. “We don’t require that you know the person well; just stop and talk to him,” said Dan Witters, the survey’s director, “But the more people to whom you say hello, the greater the probability is that you’re actually going to start a conversation with them.” While this is just a survey for now, saying hello on a regular basis is a good way to improve your own well-being. 根据短文内容,选择最佳答案。 1.How does the writer introduce the topic? A.By telling a story. B.By doing research. C.By raising a question. D.By comparing different scenes. 2.Which of the following may show the change in the well-being score? A.B.C. D. 3.Which sentence can be put in ________? A.That’s because all of these are connected. B.It’s best to greet your neighbors in the morning. C.You can even make friends by greeting neighbors. D.Different neighbors can greet you in different ways. 4.What can we learn from Dan Witters’ words? A.People should greet each neighbor. B.Neighbors don’t need to know each other. C.Saying hello helps people start a conversation. D.Nothing improves happiness more than conversations. 5.What’s the best title of the passage? A.The Power of Saying Hello B.The Advantages of Living in Small Towns C.How to Make Friends with Neighbors D.The Connection Between Greetings and Safety 【答案】1.D 2.B 3.A 4.C 5.A 【导语】本文讲述了向邻居打招呼对提升个人幸福感(包括社交幸福感、身体健康幸福感和社区幸福感)的积极影响。 1.推理判断题。根据“In small towns, people are used to saying hello to their neighbors in stores, on the streets and in front of their homes. It is the first solar-powered car that can travel off-road for long distances (距离) without needing a charging station (充电站). ②The students are known as Solar Team Eindhoven, and the car they invented is called Stella Terra. In order to create a car that could deal with the kind of difficult driving the team was planning for, the students had to design the whole car, from top to bottom. ③There are solar panels (太阳能电池板) on the top of the car. Most solar panels are only about 20% efficient. That means they waste about 80% of the sunlight they get. But Stella Terra’s solar panels are 97% efficient. They waste far less sunlight than even the best solar panels you can buy. ④Like most electric cars, Stella Terra stores energy in a battery (电池). Thanks to its powerful solar panels and its battery, when it’s sunny, the car can run for 710 kilometers a day. ⑤Several days ago, the team took the car on its biggest test—a 1,000-kilometer test drive across Morocco. The car had to travel through forests as well as dry riverbeds. It had to drive across the desert and up the mountains. The car succeeded in doing all of these—and all without ever stopping at a charging station. But the students think it will take 5—10 years before car companies are able to build a similar car. “We are pushing the limits of technology,” said Wisse Bos, the team’s manager. 根据短文内容,选择最佳答案。 1.What does Stella Terra run on? A.Solar energy. B.Wind energy. C.Water energy. D.Heat energy. 2.What does the underlined word “efficient” mean in this passage? A.Doing something well with no waste of energy. B.Doing something well with no waste of time. C.Doing something well with no waste of money. D.Doing something well with no waste of love. 3.How much more efficient is Stella Terra’s solar panel compared with most solar panels? A.17%. B.60%. C.77%. D.88%. 4.What can we infer (推断) from this passage? A.The price of Stella Terra will become higher and higher. B.More and more people will stop buying solar-powered cars. C.Stella Terra may stand for the future of new energy cars. D.Stella Terra will disappear in five-ten years. 5.What is the best structure of the passage? A.①/②③④/⑤ B.①②/③④/⑤ C.①/②③④⑤ D.①②③/④⑤ 【答案】1.A 2.A 3.C 4.C 5.C 【导语】本文讲述了一组荷兰学生设计并制造了一辆名为Stella Terra的太阳能汽车,该车能够在没有充电站的情况下长距离越野行驶。 1.细节理解题。根据“It is the first solar-powered car that can travel off-road for long distances (距离) without needing a charging station (充电站).”可知,Stella Terra是一辆使用太阳能作为动力的车。故选A。 2.词句猜测题。根据“Most solar panels are only about 20% efficient. Recently, China has made a big stop toward self—driving technology. Since August, 2024, driverless taxis can run on roads in Wuhan, Chongqing and Shenzhen. Why do we develop self-driving cars? Self-driving cars bring us many benefits. They use computers to sense the things around them and make better use of space. This means fewer traffic jams and better parking of cars. For blind or disabled people, self-driving cars can also help them get around more easily. According to official statistics, each year, more than 1.35 million people are killed on roads around the world, and more are injured. It’s reported that self-driving cars could reduce (减少) road accidents by 90% and save governments a lot of money. The main cause of car accidents is the human mistakes. By using computers, self-driving cars don’t make poor decisions or lose focus like humans do. But self-driving cars aren’t perfect. If something unexpected on the road happens, self-driving cars can’t react (反应) as fast as a human driver could. Also, during weather events like heavy snow, self-driving cars wouldn’t see the lines on the road easily. It might lead to an accident. The car’s computer system would be broken by someone, causing it to crash or change its direction. It’s clear that there is still a long way to go to make self-driving cars a common and sate sight on our roads. And China is taking the lead in making this happen, said China Daily. 根据短文内容,选择最佳答案。 1.What’s NOT the benefit (好处) of self—driving cars? A.They don’t make poor decisions. B.They can react as fast as a human driver could. C.They can make the road accidents fewer and fewer. D.They use computers to sense the things around them and make better use of space. 2.What does the underlined word “them” in paragraph 3 refer to? A.Self-driving cars. B.The computer system. C.Blind or disabled people. D.Traffic jams. 3.We can infer (推断) that China ________ in self-driving technology. A.will make greater progress B.helped many other countries C.is going to cut its total costs D.is skilled in making cars 4.The writer writes the text to ________. A.encourage more people to buy self-driving cars B.tell people several good points of self-driving cars C.introduce the present situation of self-driving cars D.tell people the bad points of self-driving cars 5.In which part of a newspaper can we see the passage? A.B.C. A.encourage more people to buy self-driving cars B.tell people several good points of self-driving cars C.introduce the present situation of self-driving cars D.tell people the bad points of self-driving cars 5.In which part of a newspaper can we see the passage?
