During the National Day holiday, the sky above Shenzhen was lit up by impressive drone (无人机) light shows. This “cyber fireworks” lit up the night, painting a lively picture of Shenzhen as a “City of Miracles, City of Innovation, City of Future”. A total of 10,197 DAMODA drones took off to the sky at the same time, setting two Guinness World Records. So how does the drone light show work?
Before a drone light show begins, drones are usually put on the ground one by one and it would take a lot of time to prepare a show with more than ten thousand drones. To shorten the time, the DAMODA drone company thought of a solution. The company put groups of drones into big boxes with specific QR codes on them. By putting the boxes into correct places, thousands of drones can be ready in a short time and they can go back to their “homes” by scanning the QR codes.
In drone shows, each drone is programmed by a computer to follow its own flight direction, carefully avoiding the other drones. They communicate with neighbouring drones and use sensors (传感器) to keep a certain distance. The position and LED colours change throughout the performance to show different objects in the night sky.
Drone light shows are thought to be more environmentally friendly—and certainly cause less noise and light pollution—than fireworks shows, so lots of big events are turning to them instead of fireworks. Drones can also be reused again and again so they will probably be more popular in the future.
36. How does the writer introduce the topic?
A. By making a comparison. B. By using a saying. C. By showing a survey. D. By giving a fact.
37. Why did the DAMODA company put the drones into special boxes?
A. To make the drones lighter. B. To protect the environment. C. To reduce preparation time. D. To keep the audience safe.
38. What do the drones use the sensors to do?
A. To make sure of the connection. B. To stay away from other drones.
C. To show different colours. D. To reach a certain speed.
39. What is the author’s attitude (态度) towards drone light shows?
A. Uninterested. B. Worried. C. Supportive. D. Doubtful.
40. In which part of a magazine can we probably read the passage?
A. Technology. B. Culture. C. Fashion. D. Travel.

Now you probably spend most of time working hard in school. We often see top students around us and everyone knows about them. However, we can see many of them actually spend fewer hours on their studies than others. So how to study better and be a top student, here is some advice for you.
●Get no less than 8 hours of sleep—don’t stay up late at night and go to bed at a regular time. Early to bed and early to rise, you can reduce your revision time in the evening by one hour and increase it into the morning. Take a nap (打盹) at noon. Having enough sleep is the important thing to improve study efficiency (效率).
●Studying is your business and business comes before entertainment (娱乐). Pay your attention when you study, phone calls should go unanswered, TV shows should go unwatched, and computer games are not allowed, either. When you study, you must put your heart and mind into it. Studying is the only and important thing in your mind.
●Keep on physical exercise— the body is “the capital” of learning. Without a good body, students can’t study well. Therefore, you can’t ignore (忽视) doing exercise though you may have too much homework to do. Some students don’t do exercise in order to save time to study, their body is weaker and weaker, they will feel powerless to study. How can they improve their learning efficiency?

Last summer, my family and I visited Beijing for the first time. We were excited to see the Great Wall, the Forbidden City, and other famous places. But the most unusual experience happened when we tried to get around the city by taxi.
One evening after a long day of touring, we decided to take a taxi back to our hotel. The driver, an old man with a friendly smile, agreed when we told him the address. However, after 20 minutes, I noticed we were going the wrong way! The streets looked unfamiliar (不熟悉), and my father asked in surprise, “Excuse me, are we going to Sunshine Hotel?”
The driver didn’t answer. Instead, he kept driving while singing a song. My mother looked worried, but suddenly, the taxi stopped near a small, brightly lit (灯火通明) street. “Look” the driver said, pointing outside.
To our surprise, the street was full of colorful lanterns and delicious smells. It was a night market we had never heard of The driver smiled. “Tourists always miss this place. Best food in Beijing”
He had taken us on a detour (兜圈子) just to show us this hidden spot. We thanked him and spent an hour trying dumplings, sweet desserts, and other delicious food. Later, he drove us back to the hotel— this time taking the shortest way.
That night, we learned something: sometimes getting lost is the best way to get around. Thanks to the kind taxi driver, we discovered (发现) a wonderful place we would never have found ourselves.

A. Technology. B. Culture. C. Fashion. D. Travel.
