Chen- Ning Yang, a world- famous physicist, died in Beijing at the age of 103. His life saw excellent academic(学术的) achievements and a deep love for the motherland.
Yang was born in Hefei in 1922 and grew up in an academic family. Because of the family's influence, he showed talent in math and physics at an early age. Later, he studied at National Southwestern Associated University and got a good basic knowledge of physics.
After graduation(毕业), Yang went to the US for further study. He got a Ph. D. from the University of Chicago and worked in top institutions(机构). In 1954, he and Robert Mills came up with the“ Yang- Mills gauge theory”(杨-米尔斯规范理论), which is a very important part of modern physics. Together with Tsung-Dao Lee, Yang won the 1957 Nobel Prize for their research on parity nonconservation(宇称不守恒).
Although he achieved success abroad, his love for China never disappeared. In1971, his historic visit became a bridge between Chinese and American scientists. He encouraged researchers abroad to come back and helped Chinese students in studying abroad.
In 1999, Yang returned to Tsinghua University. He paid much attention on developing talents and improving China's academic strength. He taught first- year students, started academic programs and pushed the development of China's basic research.
Yang lived a simple life. He gave away books and many valuable papers to Tsinghua. He often shared his life rules with young people, encouraging them to look for truth and serve the country.

C. When studying in the university.
25. Which of the followings is TRUE about the “Yang- Mills gauge theory”?

Artificial intelligence(AI) is no longer a far- off idea. It has entered many parts of our lives, from daily tasks to global fields. At the 2025 Bund Summit(外滩峰会)in Shanghai, different AI products were shown. Some companies showed their advanced(先进的) AI machines, showing how much AI has improved in different fields. For example, a smart rehabilitation(康复) robot was shown, which brings new help to the medical field.
Dr. Demis Hassabis, a top AI scientist and the winner of the 2024 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, said at an event in Greece that “learning how to learn” will be the most important skill for young people. He thinks that as AI develops faster, this skill will be more important because it helps people keep up with changing technology. He added that AI can do many things, like dealing with large amounts of data(数据) quickly, but it can't give people the ability to explore new knowledge on their own.
To keep up with AI's fast development, students need to develop important skills. These skills include critical(批判性) thinking, managing study time well, and getting used to new technologies. In some schools, students learn to check if AI-collected information is trustworthy—— this is a way to practice critical thinking. With these skills, students can do better in an AI- driven future.
Though AI brings much convenience, we shouldn't depend on it too much. We should see AI as a useful tool, not a replacement for our own thinking. Only then can we make good use of AI while keeping our ability to learn and create.
28. What may be shown at the 2025 Bund Summit in Shanghai?
A. A silk scarf. B. A smart watch. C. A sky lantern.
29. According to Dr. Demis Hassabis, what is the most important skill for young people?
A. Learning how to learn.
B. Getting used to new technologies.
C. Learning to use AI machines well.
30. What does the underlined word"trustworthy"mean in Paragraph 3?
A. Forgettable. B. Changeable. C. Dependable.
31. Which of the following could be the best title for the passage?
A. AI Users: To Learn How to Learn
B. AI Tools: To Take the Place of Human Jobs
C. AI Technologies: To Be Used in More Fields

China's Huajiang Grand Canyon(大峡谷) Bridge opened on September 28, 2025. It also sets a new world record. As the tallest bridge in the world, its road surface is 625 meters above the river—about twice as high as the Eiffel Tower.
The bridge runs 2,890 meters across a deep canyon called the “Fissure(裂缝) of the Earth”. The main part of the bridge is 1,420 meters long. 32 It's part of the Liuzhi-Anlong Highway and has cut travel time a lot. Now it takes just two minutes to cross the canyon, but it used to take two hours.
33 Workers had to face sudden strong winds—— some as strong as typhoons. But engineers used new technologies to get over these problems. They used a smart cable crane system(缆索起重机系统) and strong steel wires(绳索). 34 This is like a “nervous system” for the bridge. These new ways helped the project get 21patents(专利) for its new ideas.
Besides helping with travel, the bridge is also China's first place for “bridge tourism”. It brings together bridge viewing, extreme(极限) sports(like bungee jumping) and tourism services. 35 This will make the area a top place for tourists and help the locals live a better life.
A. Building the bridge was full of difficulties.
B. Officials think it will bring millions of visitors.
C. This makes it the longest bridge of its kind in mountain areas.
D. Traditional bridges usually use wood and stone as main materials.
E. They also put “smart cables” on the bridge to check if its structure is safe.

16-Year-Old Runner Chen Yujie Shines
On May 11, 2025,16-year-old Chen Yujie became famous in Guangzhou. She ran the first part of the women's 4×100m relay(接力) at the World Athletics Relays. With her help, China won their group in 43.03 seconds and got a place in next year's World Championships(锦标赛). People call her “Little Sister” because she is young but has great achievements.
Chen's parents were both runners. As a kid, she tried tennis and taekwondo(跆拳道). But at 11, she showed her talent in a school race. Her speed surprised her teacher, who advised her to try track(径赛). As balancing study and training was hard, she studied at Ningbo No.7 Middle School during the day and trained at a sports school in the evening. Even when she hurt her leg during practice, she kept doing arm exercises. Her teacher said, “She always pushes herself to do more.”
Her hard work soon brought success. At 14, she broke records at the 2023 U15World School Games in Brazil. She won the 100m(11.56 seconds) and 200m(24.59seconds). In 2024, she beat her hero Ge Manqi—— an Asian Games champion—— at the National Championships. She ran 100m in 11.29 seconds, her best time ever. Ge said, “We' re keeping a spot(位置) for her in the national team.” On May 31st this year, Chen set a new Asian U18 record in the 200m with a time of 22.97 seconds. Up to now, she has kept Asian U18 records in 60m, 100m and 200m.
Today, Chen is more than a runner. She shows that success needs both talent and effort. As she gets ready for the 2028 Olympics, we believe that great things can happen when courage meets chance—— no matter how young you are.
56. How old is Chen Yujie?
57. What sports did Chen Yujie use to try before she practiced track?

第二节 作文范文
Chance Meets the Prepared
Chances are always left for those who are prepared. Chen Yujie’s story deeply touches me. She showed talent in running and kept practicing hard, which helped her seize the chance to shine on the world stage.
I believe in myself and never hesitate to try new things. When facing challenges, I stay positive and make detailed plans to achieve my goals. To be skillful, I spend extra time practicing English speaking every day. Even when I fail, I keep fighting on and never give up.
Opportunities don’t come by accident. Only when we are fully prepared can we catch them. Let’s follow Chen’s example, keep improving ourselves, and wait for the moment when chance meets preparation.
