The difficult is vary so much from person to person. Some may have problems in reading and others may have trouble in writing. I also have problems in english learning, but my difficulty seem to like listening. For example, when tested for listening comprehension, I couldn't understand a single sentence, let's alone a passage of medium level. In order to overcome the difficulty in my english learning, I made great efforts to find the key to the problem. I consulted my teacher and found out that I didn't spend enough time in practicing listening, so I downloaded many listening materials and listen to them for at least two hours every day.

第二部分阅读 (共两节,满分50分)
第一节(共15小题,每小题2.5分,满分37.5)
阅读下列短文,从每题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中选出最佳选项。
A
In America, when the eighth graders leave the middle school, they are often worried about moving to the high school. It is a hard time for them, but it can be an exciting one as well. To make it easier, students need to get familiar with their school.
Even though they’ve done this already in the middle school, it’s still important to find where their class-rooms are. Most schools take students to the high school for a visit at the end of their eighth grade year. And, most schools also have a freshman (新生) speech for parents and students before the first year begins. Sometimes the main office will give away a map of the school. This can help students and parents to find different places in the school.
One way to know your high school more and make new friends is to join a club or play a sport. Schools often offer chances to join different clubs and sports. Fall activities begin in August before the first day of school. If you are not interested in sports, there are clubs for any interest, such as drama, dance, chess, photography, community service, etc. These clubs allow students from different grades. By joining an activity, students can find new friendships, not to mention improving their chances in future college applications (申请). The school office will have a list of activities offered at the school and information on how to join them.
What’s more, to have a great start to a high school year, students can write down some of their worries, and ask for help from teachers and school workers.
21. According to the text, most students feel when entering the high school.
A. excited B. nervous
C. lonely D. disappointed
22. When do many schools take students to visit their new high school?
A. Before the eighth grade year starts.
B. Right after the high school year starts.
C. At the end of their eighth grade year.
D. At the beginning of the new term in the high school.
23. What can we conclude about the school clubs?
A. There are fewer students from higher grades in the school clubs.
B. The school clubs in high school only welcome sports fans.
C. Summer activities begin before school starts.
D. The school office can help new students join school clubs.

It’s school time again! You’re probably feeling excited and maybe a little sad that summer is over. Some kids feel nervous or a little scared(害怕)on the first day of school because of all the new things: new teachers, new friends, and evena new school. Luckily, these “new” worries only stick around for a little while. Let’s find out more about going to a new school.
Most teachers kick off the new school year by introducing themselves and talking about all the stuff you’ ll be doing that year. Some teachers give students a chance to tell something about themselves to the rest of the class, too. When teachers do the talking on the first day, they often go over classroom rules and school rules so you’ll know what’s allowed and what’s not. Please pay close attention.
You might already know a lot of people in your classes on the first day, but it’s a great day to make a new friend, so try to say hello to kids you know and new ones that you don’t. Make the first move and you’ll be glad you did, and so will your new friend!
Seeing friends you haven’t seen for some time can make the first day a good one. You can make the day special by wearing clothes that you really like. Maybe you got a great T-shirt on one of your vacations, or a pair of sneakers(运动鞋). It also can make you feel good to be prepared and have all the things you need, such as pencils, folders, and whatever else you’ll need. But make sure that you pack them the night before in case you don’t have time in the morning.
24. The underlined phrase “kick off” in the second paragraph probably means “________”.
A. start B. study
C. find D. teach
25. The last paragraph mainly tells us about ________.
A. what to know about a new school
B. how to prepare for a new school
C. what to do on your first day of school
D. how to spend your first day of school
26. According to the passage you usually do everything on the first day of school except ________.
A. introduce yourself
B. learn about the school rules
C. make new friends
D. go over your new lessons
27. If you happen to see an old friend on the first day of school, from the passage we know that you will feel ________.
A. nervous B. lucky
C. happy D. worried
【答案】24. A 25. B 26. D 27. C

“Your playful days are over,” my brother said to me when he knew I was going to be a Senior One student. Then he continued telling me that senior school life was boring because I had to do a large amount of homework every day. The subjects were much more difficult than those of junior school.
I stepped into the school gate with a nervous heart. However, I was surprised to find what I experienced there was completely different from what my brother had told me.
The teachers gave excellent lessons in their own special way. They talked with me in a natural and fair way, as if I was an adult. All of them are so knowledgeable (学识渊博) and they not only explained the contents of textbooks but also provided extra information from other sources. Every word they said in classes made me so excited and interested that I had a strong desire to take in as much as I could.
In fact, my playful days were not over at all in senior school. There were many kinds of activities I could take part in. For example, sports meetings, the art festival, English corner, outing and so on. Best of all, generally, students organized the activities rather than teachers. Through this process, I improved my leadership abilities and communication skills. I’ve become mature (成熟的). I am not a kid any more.
Now if anyone asks me: “Through your process of growing up, which part is most impressive up till now?” Well, the answer will absolutely be my “senior high school life”.

30. What has the writer learned by joining in different after-class activities?
A. Leadership and social skills.
B. The understanding of textbooks.
C. Reading and writing skills.
D. Doing housework.
31. What can you learn from the last paragraph?
A. His senior school life is the most memorable.
B. Senior school life was boring and tiring.
C. He will no longer believe in his brother.
D. The writer did well in all his subjects.

I come from a family that loves sports. My father coaches Little League baseball. My mother swims nearly every weekend. My brother is on his high-school basketball team, and I am the best hitter on my middle-school volleyball team. All of us have benefited (受益) from sports. One of the most common ways for kids to take part in sports is to join a team. Joining a sports team should be a school requirement.
Playing sports is good for both the body and mind. Everyone knows that exercise helps people stay fit. For example, swimming helps your heart work better and it also helps build muscle strength (肌肉力量). In addition, school athletes often have a healthy diet. I eat a lot of fruit and vegetables and avoid fatty foods because I must stay in great condition.
Being on a team allows students to enjoy a healthier social life. They often make more friends and can be some of the most popular kids in school. Since joining the basketball team, my brother has made friends with a lot of his teammates and has showed more interest in spending time with them.
Kids who take part in school teams sometimes earn college scholarships (奖学金). My brother’s friend, Justin, played football in high school. His family did not have money to send him to college. However, a college invited him to play on its team. The college is paying for him to go to school. Joining a team turned out to be one of the best decisions he had ever made. Now he studies at a great college and plays on its football team. Not every school athlete gets a college scholarship, but joining a school team makes it possible.
Although some people may not like the idea of forcing students to join a school team, its many benefits such as keeping kids healthy, new friendships, and possible scholarships cannot be denied (否认).
32. What does the author mainly tell us in Paragraph 2?
A. Playing sports has health benefits.
B. Students should spend more time exercising.
C. Swimming is an excellent sport for students.
D. School athletes must try to eat a healthy diet.
33. How did the author’s brother change after joining the team?
A. He had a busier life. B. He got more chances.
C. He worked much harder. D. He became more sociable.
34. What can we infer about Justin?
A. He is a good football player. B. He will be given a scholarship.
C. He is managing a school team. D. He comes from a wealthy family.
35. What is the author’s attitude to making students join school teams?
A. He doubts it. B. He is in support of it.
C. He is worried about it. D. He pays little attention to it.
【答案】32 A 33. D 34. A 35. B

A
In America, when the eighth graders leave the middle school, they are often worried about moving to the high school.

23. What can we conclude about the school clubs?
A. There are fewer students from higher grades in the school clubs.
B. The school clubs in high school only welcome sports fans.
C. Summer activities begin before school starts.
D. The school office can help new students join school clubs.
B

D. how to spend your first day of school
26. According to the passage you usually do everything on the first day of school except ________.
A. introduce yourself
B. learn about the school rules
C. make new friends
D. go over your new lessons
27. If you happen to see an old friend on the first day of school, from the passage we know that you will feel ________.
A. nervous B. lucky
C. happy D. worried
C
“Your playful days are over” my brother said to me when he knew I was going to be a Senior One student.

D
