B These days, many cities are going smart. Singapore, Barcelona, and Oslo are leading the way with their own cool smart city ideas. Singapore is already a nation of sensors (传感器). They are everywhere. One area that is controlled by the sensors is transportation. They are on all buses, trains and taxis and are used to help make sure the traffic runs smoothly. They can also predict where accidents are likely to happen. But the sensors are also used in other parts of Singaporean life. For example, they can notice if someone is dropping litter or smoking in a public place. Barcelona has sensors to help watch the levels of air and noise pollution and to turn on and off its street lighting, making sure no energy goes to waste. Here it is sorted and recycled, and some is burned, producing energy for heating systems. Oslo is another city with big green plans.
