Food is an important part of our lives. In my opinion, it is not just about filling our stomachs but also about experiencing different cultures. Every country has its typical food, which can be seen as a symbol of its culture. For example, pizza in Italy is more than just a sort of food; it represents the country's love for simple yet delicious dishes. Chinese dumplings are also a highly traditional food, especially during festivals when families gather together to make and enjoy them.
However, not all food suits everyone's taste. Some people might think durian (榴莲) smells horrible, while others love its unique flavor. Some people suffer from food allergies(过敏), so they have to be careful about what they eat. And some people are so picky that they don't dare to try new kinds of food.
In schools, some cafeterias now offer international food options. This helps students taste different cuisines without traveling far. I believe that someday, as we travel more and learn about different places, we will discover even more amazing dishes. Trying various kinds of food is a wonderful way to understand the world better. Whether it's a local snack or a fancy meal, each dish has its own story to tell. Food connects people and brings joy to our lives.

It's quite hard to make a list of the most beautiful cities to visit in Italy, as every city in Italy has its own look and unique atmosphere. However, some of them are more popular than the others. And here is the list of them.
Venice
Venice, a unique city built over the water, is one of Italy's most beautiful and romantic cities. The heart of Venice is Piazza San Marco with its magnificent church, Saint Mark's Basilica. Wandering along Venice's canals and getting lost in its narrow streets must be appealing. Venice is in the northeast of Italy and historically was a bridge between East and West.
Milan
Milan, one of Europe's wealthiest cities, is known for stylish shops, galleries and restaurants. It also has a rich artistic and cultural heritage. Its Gothic Duomo, with its beautiful marble facade (大理石外墙), is magnificent. Leonardo Da Vinci's painting The Last Supper, which is in Santa Maria Delle Grazie, is one of Milan's top attractions. La Scala is one of the world's most famous opera houses.
Naples
Naples is one of Italy's most lively cities. It lies on the coast south of Rome and is the most important city in southern Italy. Naples keeps much of its Baroque character and is a starting point for trips to Pompeii, Herculaneum, and the Amalfi Coast. It holds many historical and artistic treasures, and is famous for its pizza and desserts!
Bologna
Bologna is known for its beauty, wealth and food. Its flat streets are lined with arcades (拱廊), making it a good walking city in every kind of weather. Bologna is the biggest city in northern Italy's Emilia Romagna region and its Piazza Maggiore is one of the biggest squares in Europe. Even among Italians, it's considered the cooking capital of the country.

A British friend told me he couldn't understand why Chinese people love eating sunflower seeds (嗑瓜子) as a snack so much. “I've met a lot of elderly Chinese and many have cracks in their front teeth. I believe that's from cracking the seeds,” he said.
I had never noticed the habit, but once he mentioned it, I suddenly became more aware. I realized that whenever I'm watching TV or typing a report, I always start mindlessly cracking sunflower seeds. My friend doesn't like sunflower seeds, and, to him, it seems unnecessary to work so much just to get one small seed.
When we were young, the whole family would usually get together for Chinese New Year. Then, we all lived close to one another, usually in a small city, and sometimes even neighbors would go doortodoor on Chinese New Year's Eve to check out what every family was making.
I remember my parents would be in the kitchen cooking. Out in the living room, a large table would already be laid out, complete with fancy tablecloth, readymade dumpling fillings, and dishes full of candy, fruits and sunflower seeds. Some of the dishes were to be offered to our ancestors later, while others were for neighbors and children to eat before the evening feast. I must have learned how to crack sunflower seeds back then.
I don't think it's right to criticize (批评) one's choice in food or eating habits, no matter how strange they may seem.
It's not only in China. When I went abroad, I found people had all sorts of strange habits when it came to food. In Denmark, they put salted red fish on bread and eat it for dinner, no matter how much it ruins your breath. They think it's delicious, and it's connected to their certain culture. I think it's a wonderful tradition.
