根据“Many hands make light work.” 故选A项。 2.---There’s a factory outside town that’s pumping chemicals into the river. ---How can they do that? Isn’t it________ the law? A.under B.beyond C.over D.against 【答案】D 【详解】考查介词词义辨析。 之下;B. beyond超过;C. over在…… 3.Helen ________ her keys in the office, so she had to wait until her husband came home. A.has left B.leaves C.had left D.left 【答案】C 【详解】考查动词时态。 4.I was 12 and ,________all my old friends, I felt shy and lonely at the new school. A.lost B.having been lost C.having lost D.losing 【答案】C 【详解】考查非谓语动词。 5.(2015·天津)As the smallest child of his family, Alex is always longing for the time ________he should be able to be independent. A.which B.where C.whom D.when 【答案】D 【详解】考查定语从句。 D。 6.A young man from a wealthy family graduated from Beijing University and got a job as a pork seller, which________  a public heated debate. A.boom B.decline C.deadline D.absence 【答案】B 【详解】考查名词词义辨析。 A. boom激增;B. decline减少;C. deadline最后期限;D. absence缺席。 9.We should improve our ability to engage in international communication to tell the stories of China well and make the voice of China________globally. A.hearing B.to hear C.having heard D.heard 【答案】D 【详解】考查过去分词。 D。 10.—The soup needs a bit of flavor. —I know, some tomato juice should . A.access for; accompany B.access to; having accompanied C.access to; accompanied D.access for; having been accompanied 【答案】C 【详解】考查固定短语和动词语态。 have access to“接近”是固定短语,第一空用access to。 故unless引导条件状语从句,省略了主语they和be动词are,且they与“accompany”为被动关系,可推断从句用一般现在时的被动语态,故用they are accompanied,省略they are,保留accompanied,第二空填accompanied。故选C。 12.When the task was ________ , the professor expected the student to take it actively. A.collected B.assigned C.finished D.quoted 【答案】B 【详解】考查动词词义辨析。 A. collected收集;B. assigned布置;分配;C. finished完成;D. quoted引用。根据句中的the task和the professor expected the student to take it actively可知,教授希望学生能积极地完成任务,说明是刚分配了任务,还没有完成。故选B项。 13.Deserts, dry areas with no vegetation, cover more than one-third of the earth’s landsurface. A.Despite B.though C.unless D.in case 【答案】C 【详解】考查介词或连词辨析。 A.Despite尽管;B.though虽然;C.unless除非;D.in case万一。 C。 15.—I need to tell Kevin the conference has been canceled. —_________ He’s already on his way. A.The sooner the better. B.Don’t bother. C.You’ve got me there. D.How could you? A. The sooner the better. B. Don’t bother. C. You’ve got me there. D. How could you? 由“He’s already on his way”可知,第二个人的意思是越快告诉Kevin越好,因为Kevin已经在路上了,因此空格处意为“越快越好”。故选A。 I drove to my mother’s house to celebrate my 38th birthday with her. The evenings in Kiburn, north London, were due to include food and other elements from the Harry Potter books. However, Warner Bros, maker of the Harry Potter films, wrote to the club’s organizer “Ms Marmite Lover” warning that the parties would infringe (侵犯) its rights. The club will now hold two “Genetic Wizard nights” for Halloween. On her blog, Ms Marmite Lover explains that she researched and developed her menu with her Harry Potter-obsessed teenage daughter and a food writer. Guests would have to enter the venue, called the Underground Restaurant, through “Diagon Alley” and by giving a password-while a “Sorting Hat” would decide the seating plan. After Warner Bros learned about the ticketed (被加标签) event, it wrote to Ms Marmite Lover saying: “While we are delighted that you are such a fan of the Harry Potter series, unfortunately your proposed use of the Harry Potter Properties without our permission would amount to an infringement of Warner’s rights.” The letter added: “Warner does not, of course, object to you holding a Genetic Wizard Halloween night at the Underground Restaurant.” Ms Marmite Lover suggested in her blog: “JK Rowling herself, having at one time been a struggling single parent, and having donated to the National Council for one Patent Families, would probably approve of a single mother being entrepreneurial (企业家的) and creative”. The Underground Restaurant usually charges diners about 20-30 each, except alcohol. Studies have shown, for instance, that eating in front of the TV (or a similar distraction) can increase both hunger and the amount of food consumed. Even simple visual clues, like plate size and lighting, have been shown to affect portion size and consumption. A new study suggested that our short-term memory also may play a role in appetite. Several hours after a meal, people's hunger levels were predicted not by how much they’d eaten but rather by how much food they'd seen in front of them—in other words, how much they remembered eating. This disparity (新旧研究的差异)suggests the memory of our previous meal may have a bigger influence on our appetite than the actual size of the meal, says Jeffrey M. Brunstrom, a professor of experimental psychology at the University of Bristol. "Hunger isn't controlled individually by the physical characteristics of a recent meal. We have identified an independent role for memory for that meal," Brunstrom says. "This shows that the relationship between hunger and food intake is more complex than we thought." These findings echo earlier research that suggests our perception of food can sometimes trick our body’s response to the food itself. In a 2011 study, for instance, people who drank the same 380-calorie milkshake on two separate occasions produced different levels of hunger-related hormones (荷尔蒙),depending on whether the shake’s label said it contained 620 or 140 calories. Moreover, the participants reported feeling more full when they thought they'd consumed a higher-calorie shake. What does this mean for our eating habits? Although it hardly seems practical to trick ourselves into eating less, the new findings do highlight the benefits of focusing on our food and avoiding TV and multitasking while eating. The so-called mindful-eating strategies can fight distractions and help us control our appetite, Brunstrom says. 46.What is said to be a factor affecting our appetite and food intake? A.How we feel the food we eat. B.When we eat our meals. C.What element the food contains. D.How fast we eat our meals. 47.What would happen at meal time if you remembered eating a lot in the previous meal? A.You would probably be more particular about food. B.You would not feel like eating the same food. C.You would have a good appetite. D.You would not feel so hungry. 48.What do we learn from the 2011 study? A.Food labels may mislead consumers in their purchases. B.Food labels may influence our body’s response to food. C.Hunger levels depend on one's consumption of calories. D.People tend to take in a lot more calories than necessary. 49.What does Brunstrom suggest we do to control our appetite? A.Trick ourselves into eating less. B.Choose food with fewer calories. C.Concentrate on food while eating. D.Pick dishes of the right size. 50.What is the main idea of the passage? A.Eating distractions often affect our food digestion. B.Psychological factors influence our hunger levels. C.Our food intake is determined by our biological needs. D.Good eating habits will contribute to our health. In recent years, a growing body of research has shown that our appetite and food intake are influenced by a large number of factors besides our biological need for energy, including our eating environment and our perception(感知) of the food in front of us. Several hours after a meal, people's hunger levels were predicted not by how much they’d eaten but rather by how much food they'd seen in front of them—in other words, how much they remembered eating. In a 2011 study, for instance, people who drank the same 380-calorie milkshake on two separate occasions produced different levels of hunger-related hormones (荷尔蒙),depending on whether the shake’s label said it contained 620 or 140 calories. The so-called mindful-eating strategies can fight distractions and help us control our appetite, Brunstrom says. B。 D When the German naturalist Alexander Humboldt arrived in South America in 1799, one thing astonished him. “Look at the flowers and the birds, ” he wrote. “Even the crayfish are blue and yellow.” Gradually, Humboldt’s thoughts developed and changed into an informal guess that organisms in equatorial (赤道的) areas are more colourful than those near the poles. In a new paper in Nature Ecology & Evolution, Chris Cooney, an evolutionary biologist at the University of Sheffield, and his colleagues offer what they call the most comprehensive (全面的) examination of this guess to date, indicating that it does apply to birds known as passerines, a family of songbirds. Over several years, Dr Cooney’s team photographed 4, 527 birds from Britain’s Natural History Museum’s data — representing roughly half the total bird diversity on Earth. As passerine birds are sensitive and visible to UV light (紫外光), they see more colours than humans. The researchers, therefore, took pictures under UV light to get true bird’s-eye views. A machine-learning method was then used to identify the colours of the feathers at hundreds of points on each sample. The total number of colours found on each bird was then mapped onto the geographic distribution of their parent species. The researchers used this data to study how colourful different regions of the world were. The key factor here was the diversity of colours on individual birds. Equatorial birds, the researchers concluded, were indeed more colourful than their cousins in temperate (温带的) regions. The birds sampled at the equator had, on average, about 90 different colours, while birds at 60 degrees latitude (纬度) had about 70 colours. Over the decades, many explanations for tropical colourfulness have been put forward. Some have guessed that warmer climates make more resources available to the creatures here, allowing them to spend energy developments (装饰品). Others have pointed out that the bright colours may arise from chemical compounds (化合物) in their diet, or make it possible for breeding (繁殖) pairs to detect one another in the darker environment of a tropical forest floor. 51.What surprised Humboldt when he arrived in South America? A.The breathtaking scenery. B.The diversity of creatures. C.The rich colours of the organisms. D.The extremely hot temperature. 52.What did Cooney’s team intend to do? A.To study why passerine birds are sensitive to UV light. B.To test whether creatures in equatorial areas are more colourful. C.To figure out how passerine birds are distributed in the world. D.To discover whether the colour diversity is related to the species diversity. 53.Which of the following might Cooney agree with? A.Bright colours contribute to the survival of birds. B.Colourfulness shows the evolution of birds. C.Colourfulness changes with latitude. D.Bright colours are associated with birds’ sharp vision. 54.Which aspect of tropical colourfulness does the last paragraph focus on? A.Its causes. B.Its influence. C.Its importance. D.Its discovery. 55.What’s the best title for the text? A.The colourfulness of a region depends on its bird species. B.The more resources a region has, the more colourful it is. C.A new way has been put forward to test the colourfulness of a region. D.The closer the birds live to the equator, the more colourful they are. 【答案】51.C 52.B 53.C 54.A 55.D 【导语】本文是说明文。文章主要介绍了科学家对赤道地区生物色彩更为丰富这一猜想的全面研究,并通过研究证实了赤道地区的鸟类确实比温带地区的鸟类色彩更为丰富。 51.细节理解题。根据第一段“When the German naturalist Alexander Humboldt arrived in South America in 1799, one thing astonished him. “Look at the flowers and the birds, ” he wrote. “Even the crayfish are blue and yellow.” (当德国博物学家Alexander Humboldt于1799年抵达南美时,有一件事令他震惊。“看看那些花儿和鸟儿,”他写道。“连小龙虾都是蓝色和黄色的。”)”可知,当Humboldt到达南美洲时,生物体的丰富色彩让他感到惊讶。故选C项。 52.细节理解题。根据第二段“Gradually, Humboldt’s thoughts developed and changed into an informal guess that organisms in equatorial areas are more colourful than those near the poles. (渐渐地,Humboldt的想法发展并变成了一种非正式的猜测,即赤道地区的生物比两极附近的生物色彩更丰富)”以及第三段“In a new paper in Nature Ecology & Evolution, Chris Cooney, an evolutionary biologist at the University of Sheffield, and his colleagues offer what they call the most comprehensive examination of this guess to date, indicating that it does apply to birds known as passerines, a family of songbirds. (谢菲尔德大学的进化生物学家Chris Cooney和他的同事们在《自然生态与进化》杂志上发表了一篇新论文中,对这一猜测进行了迄今为止最全面的检验,表明这一猜测确实适用于雀鸟(一种鸣禽))”可知,Cooney的团队打算测试赤道地区的生物是否色彩更丰富。故选B项。 53.推理判断题。根据倒数第二段“Equatorial birds, the researchers concluded, were indeed more colourful than their cousins in temperate regions. The birds sampled at the equator had, on average, about 90 different colours, while birds at 60 degrees latitude had about 70 colours. (研究人员得出结论,赤道地区的鸟类确实比温带地区的鸟类颜色更丰富。在赤道取样的鸟类平均有大约90种不同的颜色,而在纬度60度取样的鸟类有大约70种颜色)”可知,Cooney可能会同意色彩随着纬度的变化而变化。故选C项。 54.推理判断题。根据最后一段“Over the decades, many explanations for tropical colourfulness have been put forward. Some have guessed that warmer climates make more resources available to the creatures here, allowing them to spend energy developments. Others have pointed out that the bright colours may arise from chemical compounds in their diet, or make it possible for breeding pairs to detect one another in the darker environment of a tropical forest floor. (几十年来,人们提出了许多关于热带色彩的解释。一些人猜测,温暖的气候为这里的生物提供了更多的资源,使它们能够消耗能量。另一些人指出,鲜艳的颜色可能来自它们饮食中的化合物,或者是为了让交配对在热带森林地面较暗的环境中发现彼此)”可知,最后一段关注的是热带色彩丰富的原因。故选A项。 55.主旨大意题。根据第二段“Gradually, Humboldt’s thoughts developed and changed into an informal guess that organisms in equatorial areas are more colourful than those near the poles. Saving money is easy when you don’t have anything else to spend it on, but what should we do when things pop up that demand some of your hard-earned cash? These are called expenses. Chances are that most of your basic living expenses — food, shelter, clothing, medical care — are covered by your family. But perhaps you and your family have agreed that you’ll pay for certain other expenses out of your own money, such as cell phone minutes, after-school snacks, clothing and small jewelry, or club dues. Expenses that happen regularly, like every week or month, are called “fixed” expenses. The good news is that you know when these expenses are coming, and you can plan for them. But life is full of surprises, and sometimes these surprises turn into expenses, too. You might have an emergency like fixing a flat tire on your bike, or just something unusual like the class trip. These are called “unexpected” expenses — and if you’re smart with your money, you’ll plan for these as well. Here’s a secret when it comes to saving money: if you think of it as a regular expense, it’ll be easier to put a certain amount aside. Tell yourself that the $20.00 you’re trying to save up every month is something you absolutely must do, and there’s no getting around it. Can you think of any unexpected expenses that you had in the past or you might have in the near future? In this case, you should track your cash flow by creating a cash flow journal in a notebook. That means you keep a record of every amount you earn, spend, and save. Thus we can have a clear idea about our earnings, expenses and savings. And then we can enjoy a sound sleep without any worry. 56.What does the underlined phrase “pop up” in the first paragraph mean in English? (no more than 5 words) 57.How many types does the writer divide expenses into? What are they? (no more than 10 words) 58.What’s Paragraph 4 mainly about? (no more than 8 words) 59.For what purpose do we create a cash flow journal? (no more than 12 words) 60.What is your own way to solve the problem with unexpected expenses? (no more than 20 words) 【答案】56.Appear suddenly/Occur suddenly/Happen suddenly. 57.Two. Fixed expenses and unexpected expenses. 58.A secret to save money./How to save money. 59.To know clearly about our earnings, expenses and savings. 60.To solve the problem with unexpected expenses I always try to set aside a fixed amount of money. 【导语】本文属于说明文,文章主要向我们描述了日常生活中的费用所花费的地方,如生活费用、固定费用、意外费用等。 56.考查词句猜测。根据文章第一段“Saving money is easy when you don’t have anything else to spend it on, but what should we do when things pop up that demand some of your hard-earned cash? These are called expenses.(当你没有其他东西可以花的时候,省钱很容易,但当需要你辛苦赚来的钱的事情pop up时,我们该怎么办?这些被称为费用)”可知此处的需要花我们血汗钱的事情是一些没有预料到的事情,即突然出现的事情,所以划线词pop up的意思是Appear suddenly/Occur suddenly/Happen suddenly,故答案为Appear suddenly/Occur suddenly/Happen suddenly. 57.考查细节理解。根据文章第三段“Expenses that happen regularly, like every week or month, are called “fixed” expenses. (每周或每月定期发生的费用称为“固定”费用)”以及“You might have an emergency like fixing a flat tire on your bike, or just something unusual like the class trip. These are called “unexpected” expenses — and if you’re smart with your money, you’ll plan for these as well.(你可能会遇到紧急情况,比如修理自行车爆胎,或者只是一些不寻常的事情,比如课堂旅行。这些被称为“意外”开支——如果你对钱很精明,你也会为这些开支做好计划)”可知作者将费用分成了两类,即固定费用和意外费用。故答案为Two. Fixed expenses and unexpected expenses. 58.考查主旨大意。根据文章第四段“Here’s a secret when it comes to saving money: if you think of it as a regular expense, it’ll be easier to put a certain amount aside.(说到省钱,这里有一个秘密:如果你把它看作是一笔常规费用,那么节省一定数额会更容易。)”可知第四段主要讨论的是如何省钱或者省钱的秘密,故答案为A secret to save money./How to save money. 59.考查细节理解。根据文章最后一段“That means you keep a record of every amount you earn, spend, and save. Thus we can have a clear idea about our earnings, expenses and savings. And then we can enjoy a sound sleep without any worry.(这意味着你要记录你赚的、花的、存的每一笔钱。因此,我们可以有一个清晰的概念,我们的收入,支出和储蓄。然后我们可以享受一个没有任何担心的好睡眠。)”可知创建一个现金日记账的目的是为了我们可以对自己的收入、开支和储蓄有一个清晰的概念,故答案为To know clearly about our earnings, expenses and savings. 60.考查开放答题。考生结合自身实际,言之有理即可,例如:为了解决意外开支的问题,我总是试着存一笔固定的钱。故答案为To solve the problem with unexpected expenses I always try to set aside a fixed amount of money. Dear Sir/Madam, ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Sincerely yours, Li Jin 【答案】Dear Sir/Madam, I am Li Jin, an exchange student from China. B.a travel guide C.an advertisement D.a research report B A woman planning “Harry Potter night” at a supper club she runs at home has been forced to change their name after a warning from film studio Warner Bros (华纳兄弟). Warner Bros says it has guidelines to help Harry Potter fans run non-profit and charitable events true to the spirit of the stories. The vast majority of non-commercial events are able to go ahead with the studio’s support, it says. 41.Mr. Marmite Lover had to change their name because ______. A.the researcher of Harry Potter films B.the maker of the Harry Potter films C.a cooking- book writer D.a single parent 43.The seventh paragraph told us that ______. A.Ms Marmite Lover was creative and she is good at cooking B.JK Rowling was sure to agree with what a creative woman did C.Ms Marmite Lover attempted to find excuse for what she had done D.JK Rowling suffered a lot before she published her novel series 44.We can infer from the passage that ______. A.“Sorting Hat” is the password to go through “Diagon Alley” B.Ms Marmite Lover was not pleased with Wamer Bros C.the charges that the guests pay for the dinner include alcohol D.Warner is a charity organization which helps the single mother. 45.The word “mother” in the seventh Paragraph refers to ______. A.J. K. Rowling B.the food writer C.Warner Bros D.Ms Marmite C In recent years, a growing body of research has shown that our appetite and food intake are influenced by a large number of factors besides our biological need for energy, including our eating environment and our perception(感知) of the food in front of us. D When the German naturalist Alexander Humboldt arrived in South America in 1799, one thing astonished him. 第二部分:写作(共两节,满分35分) 第一节:阅读表达(共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分) 阅读下面短文,并根据短文内容完成下列各题。 Saving money is easy when you don’t have anything else to spend it on, but what should we do when things pop up that demand some of your hard-earned cash? (no more than 20 words) Dear Sir/Madam, ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Sincerely yours, Li Jin 试卷第1页,共3页 试卷第1页,共3页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
