It’s really cool, but I still think your robot arm is going to win the competition. M: Well, we’ll see. We’ll have to see what the judges say, I suppose. But thanks. Oh, this thing is heavy. I need to put it down. W: Here, put it on this table. Now where can I put mine? M: There’s space next to Harry’s Solar system model. W: I can’t leave it there. M: Why not? W: There’s a heater right underneath. All my plants will die if they get too hot. And then all my hard work will be wasted. M: Good point. Hmm, there aren’t many other options, though this place is almost full. Maybe you could put it on the teacher’s desk. W: No, I’d better not. It will get in her way. Oh dear, I knew I should have brought my project in sooner. M: Don’t worry. You put your plants here on the table and I’ll move my project to the shelf above the heater. W: Oh, that’s kind. Are you sure? M: Of course. 17. When was the first CineMajestic festival held? A. In the 1960s. B. In the 1970s. C. In the 1980s. 18. Its variety of stories. B 18. C 19. B 20. W: Ladies and gentlemen, it’s a great pleasure to talk to you about a remarkable film festival that has introduced high quality cinema to the world. The festival I’m referring to is CineMajestic. CineMajestic festival was first planned in the late 1960s. At the very beginning, it was intended to be a small independent gathering of filmmakers and film lovers. It was designed to present creative and innovative films that might not find a home in more mainstream festivals. This vision became a reality when the first CineMajestic festival was held in 1973 and it immediately gained recognition. What makes CineMajestic different from other film festivals is its efforts in the art of storytelling. It’s a festival that doesn’t follow trends or commercial pressure. Instead, it celebrates the most important quality of cinema and the creative voices that define it. CineMajestic belief in finding hidden, precious aspects is truly inspiring. The films vary widely in terms of type and style. You’ll find something from inspiring documentaries to creative experimental films. But character-driven dramas often shine here. The festival has been a platform for films that challenge conventions and take artistic risks. This year’s selection at CineMajestic was extremely interesting. What impressed me most was the diversity of voices and stories on display. There were films from all corners of the globe. I was particularly moved by the film The Silent Journey, a story about a young boy’s adventure in a ruined world. A In Switzerland, a variety of unique festivals take place throughout the year, each offering a distinct cultural experience and unforgettable moments for locals and visitors alike. I accompanied Dad regularly for recovery. Dad progressed from wheelchair to a walker to crutches (拐杖). My role included watching patiently, ready to help when my dad’s determination wasn’t enough. We missed some social events. Dad couldn’t come to school concerts, basketball games, and other events when my friends had a strong family presence. I didn’t have the chance to run in the park and be carried on shoulders when I was tired. But as an adult I realize what I gained by watching my dad heal his body, spirit and life with determination. I learned that it was up to us to decide whether we’ d be ashamed or accept ourselves and others as complete. Mom still has a family portrait (全家福) I painted in second grade showing my father using two silver sticks as extensions (延伸) of his arms. Most of all, caregivers learn to care. They see the need to open the door for the next person even for a few seconds. They learn to see the needs of others, even when it hurts. Caregivers understand that everyone needs to contribute and have a sense of community. Recently, a participant in a program that I organized commented that I had comforting eyes.Without hesitation, I responded, “I grew up with a disabled father. Early in life, I would decide when it was time to be a child or a problem solver. ” Although I may have missed enjoying a ride on my father’s shoulders, I had a chance to develop comforting eyes and everything that goes with that, always ready to help. 24. What role did the author play with his father in a wheelchair? A. Taking over household duties. B. Supporting his father’s recovery. C. Replacing his father at school events. D. He suffered from his father’s disability. D. He missed many childhood experiences. 26. What is painted by the author in the family portrait? A. The father using crutches. B. The family at a school concert. C. The author playing with his father. D. The mother helping with the author. 27. What can we know about caregivers according to the author? A. They depend on others. B. They focus on themselves. C. They grow considerate and caring. D. They can beat mental loneliness. B 25. D 26. A 27. 根据第一段“When Dad returned to our small farm in a wheelchair after five months in hospital, I, then aged four, became the helper and the spirit builder. I accompanied Dad regularly for recovery.(当爸爸在医院住了五个月后坐着轮椅回到我们的小农场时,当时才四岁的我成了他的帮手和精神建设者。我定期陪伴爸爸康复。)”可知,作者的父亲从医院回来后只能坐在轮椅上,四岁的作者成为父亲康复路上的帮手和精神支柱。故选B。 【25题详解】 推理判断题。根据第二段“We missed some social events. Dad couldn’t come to school concerts, basketball games, and other events when my friends had a strong family presence. I didn’t have the chance to run in the park and be carried on shoulders when I was tired.(我们错过了一些社交活动。爸爸不能参加学校的音乐会、篮球比赛,也不能参加其他一些我的朋友们有很多家人在场的活动。当我累的时候,我没有机会在公园里跑步,也没有机会被人扛在肩膀上。)”可知,作者的童年因父亲的残疾,错过了很多其他孩子应有的经历和体验。故选D。 【26题详解】 细节理解题。根据第二段“Mom still has a family portrait (全家福) I painted in second grade showing my father using two silver sticks as extensions (延伸) of his arms.(妈妈还留着我二年级时画的全家福,画的是我父亲用两根银色的拐杖作为手臂的延伸。)” 故选A。 根据第三段“Most of all, caregivers learn to care. They see the need to open the door for the next person even for a few seconds. They learn to see the needs of others, even when it hurts. Caregivers understand that everyone needs to contribute and have a sense of community.(最重要的是,照顾者学会了关心。他们认为有必要为下一个人开门,哪怕只是几秒钟。他们学会看到别人的需要,即使这很伤人。照顾者明白每个人都需要做出贡献,并有一种社区意识。)”和最后一段“Although I may have missed enjoying a ride on my father’s shoulders, I had a chance to develop comforting eyes and everything that goes with that, always ready to help.(虽然我可能错过了骑在父亲肩膀上的乐趣,但我有机会培养出令人安慰的眼睛,以及随之而来的一切,随时准备提供帮助。)” C。 C As Internet users become more dependent on the Internet to store information, are people remember less? If you know your computer will save information, why store it in your own personal memory, your brain? Experts are wondering if the Internet is changing what we remember and how. In a recent study, Professor Betsy Sparrow conducted some experiments. She and her research team wanted to know the Internet is changing memory. In the first experiment, they gave people 40 unimportant facts to type into a computer. The first group of people understood that the computer would save the information. The second group understood that the computer would not save it. Later, the second group remembered the information better. People in the first group knew they could find the information again, so they did not try to remember it. In another experiment, the researchers gave people facts to remember, and told them where to find the information on the Internet. The information was in a specific computer folder (文件夹). Surprisingly, people later remember the folder location (位置) better than the facts. When people use the Internet, they do not remember the information. Rather, they remember how to find it. This is called “transactive memory (交互记忆)” According to Sparrow, we are not becoming people with poor memories as a result of the Internet. Instead, computer users are developing stronger transactive memories; that is, people are learning how to organize huge quantities of information so that they are able to access it at a later date. This doesn’t mean we are becoming either more or less intelligent, but there is no doubt that the way we use memory is changing. 28. The passage begins with two questions to ________. A. introduce the main topic B. show the author’s attitude C. describe how to use the Internet D. explain how to store information 29. What can we learn about the first experiment? A. Sparrow’s team typed the information into a computer. B. The two groups remembered the information equally well. C. The first group did not try to remember the information. D. The second group did not understand the information. 30. In transactive memory, people ________. A. keep the information in mind B. change the quantity of information C. organize information like a computer D. remember how to find the information 31. What is the effect of the Internet according to Sparrow's research? A. We are using memory differently. B. We are becoming more intelligent. C. We have poorer memories than before. D. We need a better way to access information. A 29. C 30. D 31. 根据第一段“Experts are wondering if the Internet is changing what we remember and how.” 故选A。 根据第二段“People in the first group knew they could find the information again, so they did not try to remember it.” 根据倒数第二段“Rather, they remember how to find it. This is called "transactive memory (交互记忆)"”可知,在交互记忆里,人们记得怎样找到信息。故选D。 【31题详解】 细节理解题。根据最后一段“but there is no doubt that the way we use memory is changing”可知,互联网对人们的记忆产生的影响是它改变了我们使用记忆力的方式。 D Some specialists doubt often using noise-cancelling headphones against background noise may hurt people’s hearing skills. Renee Almeida, an audiologist (听力师) at a healthcare trust, has seen a rise in adults who visit her clinic with various hearing issues but tests suggest their hearing is fine. The problem is with their brain, not their ears. They may fail to locate where a sound is from, or follow a conversation with full attention. The condition, known as auditory processing disorder (APD), is often found in children, making them struggle to hear in classrooms or focus on a conversation. The rise in adults with similar issues struck Almeida as strange. She doubts that the widespread use of noise-cancelling headphones may cause ear infections (感染) and affect the process children learn to focus on sounds. For adults, it may make their brain lazy processing sounds, just as muscles weaken without exercise. There’s no scientific evidence that noise-cancelling headphones cause APD, but APD affects about 3%-5% of school-aged children. According to Harvey, a professor at the University of Manchester, listening experience affects our ability to segregate background noise. Interrupting what is heard can be more problematic for children than adults. If a child has repeated ear infections before age five, they’ ll find it hard later to focus on sounds from one direction. Surprisingly, many don’t catch up and need to learn the skill through training on apps such as Sound Storm. Professor Dani at the University of Melbourne says people who use noise-cancelling headphones for long periods may find listening harder when they take them off. But she says the benefits should not be overlooked for managing sensory inputs. “Instead of suggesting abandoning noise-cancelling headphones, we need to stress the need for more comprehensive research studies,” she adds. For now, Professor Dani recommends bone conduction (骨传导) headphones and hearing training. She urges patients to listen to radio debates and to take down the lyrics of rap songs. “There’s great bouncing ability in the brain. Make an effort to listen to what’s being said.” 32. What problem do headphones bring about to the wearers? A. Making their social life difficult. B. Affecting their focus of attention. C. Causing their total loss of hearing. D. Leading to their lazy state of mind. 33. What does the underlined word “segregate” in paragraph 3 mean? A. Strengthen. B. Separate. C. Access. D. Create. 34. Why does Professor Dani recommend listening to radio debates? A. It’s beneficial for people with perfect hearing. B. It’s effective for children under the age of five. C. It helps train the brain to better process and focus. D. It’s for entertainment with no harm to hearing skills. 35. What is a suitable title for the text? A. APD Can Be Cured with Proper Exercise B. Specialists Call Attention to APD Disease C. Headphones Are Beneficial to Most Adults D. Noise-Cancelling Headphones Cause a Condition 【答案】32. B 33. B 34. C 35. 根据第一段“They may fail to locate where a sound is from, or follow a conversation with full attention.(他们可能无法确定声音的来源,或者无法全神贯注地听一段对话。)” 根据划线词所在句“According to Harvey, a professor at the University of Manchester, listening experience affects our ability to segregate background noise.(根据曼彻斯特大学教授哈维的说法,倾听经历会影响我们segregate背景噪音的能力。)”和下文“If a child has repeated ear infections before age five, they’ ll find it hard later to focus on sounds from one direction.(如果一个孩子在五岁之前反复患耳部感染,他们以后会发现很难集中注意力听来自一个方向的声音。)” 根据最后一段“She urges patients to listen to radio debates and to take down the lyrics of rap songs. “There’s great bouncing ability in the brain. Make an effort to listen to what’s being said.”(她敦促患者听电台辩论,并记下说唱歌曲的歌词。“大脑有很强的弹跳能力,努力去听他们在说什么。”)”可知,Dani教授认为大脑有着很强的弹性恢复能力,常听电台辩论并记下说唱歌曲的歌词,可以训练大脑恢复处理信息和专注的能力。故选C。 【35题详解】 主旨大意题。根据第一段“Some specialists doubt often using noise-cancelling headphones against background noise may hurt people’s hearing skills.(一些专家怀疑经常使用降噪耳机来对抗背景噪音可能会损害人们的听力。)”和第二段“The condition, known as auditory processing disorder (APD), is often found in children, making them struggle to hear in classrooms or focus on a conversation.(这种情况被称为听觉处理障碍(APD),常见于儿童,使他们在课堂上难以听到声音或集中注意力交谈。)” 【36题详解】 上文提到“Playing sports helps to maintain physical fitness. But this isn’t the only benefit your teens will have if they engage in sports. Here is a quick look at how playing sports can benefit your teens.(运动有助于保持身体健康。但这并不是你的青少年参与运动能获得的唯一好处。下面快速了解一下运动能给青少年带来哪些好处)”,表明接下来要阐述运动对青少年的好处。B选项“Playing sports acts as social activities for teens.(对青少年来说,运动是一种社交活动)”指出运动具有社交功能,开启了关于运动在社交方面对青少年益处的论述,与后文“It’ll help your teens grow socially.(它将帮助你的青少年在社交方面成长)”紧密相连,所以B项符合语境。故选B。 【37题详解】 前文提到“Sports are an excellent exercise to build team spirit and leadership skills. Teens will learn how to cooperate with their team members.(运动是培养团队精神和领导能力的绝佳方式。青少年将学会如何与队友合作)”,强调了运动在培养团队精神和合作能力方面的作用。 G选项“They won’t think about their individual performance only.(他们不会只考虑自己的个人表现)”进一步说明了在团队运动中,青少年不会只关注个人表现,而是会考虑团队整体利益,与前文“学会与队友合作”相呼应,且后文“Instead, they will learn to keep the interest of the entire team on top priority and develop a spirit of sportsmanship.(相反,他们会学会把整个团队的利益放在首位,并培养体育精神)”中的“Instead”也表明了与G项的转折关系,所以G项符合语境。故选G。 【38题详解】 前文提到“Your teens will form some of their closest bonds during these growing-up years, right on the playground. As your teens share their fears and secrets with these youngsters, they’ll form strong bonds.(在成长的这些年里,你的青少年会在操场上建立起一些最亲密的关系。当你的青少年与这些年轻人分享他们的恐惧和秘密时,他们会建立起牢固的关系)”,说明了青少年在运动场上会建立亲密关系。 A选项“And such bonds may last a lifetime.(而且这样的关系可能会持续一生)”强调了这种在运动场上建立的关系可能会长久持续,是对前文“建立牢固关系”的进一步说明,所以A项符合语境。故选A。 【39题详解】 前文提到“When your teens get involved in sports, they will also start managing their time better. Your teens will try to strike a balance between studies and sports.(当你的青少年参与运动时,他们也会开始更好地管理自己的时间。你的青少年会努力在学习和运动之间找到平衡)”,指出了青少年参与运动后会更好地管理时间,在学习和运动之间寻求平衡。 C选项“Thus they’ll start managing their time productively.(因此,他们会开始高效地管理自己的时间)”是对前文“更好地管理时间”的进一步阐述,说明了参与运动会让青少年高效管理时间,且后文“Goal setting can help them manage their time effectively.(设定目标可以帮助他们有效地管理时间)”也与C项中“高效管理时间”相呼应,所以C项符合语境。故选C。 【40题详解】 前文提到“Sports are meant for staying healthy, being physically active and not to forget, enjoyment.(运动是为了保持健康、保持身体活力,当然,还有享受乐趣)”,强调了运动的乐趣。 I recently heard a story about a famous scientist who had made several very important medical breakthroughs. Several days ago, when Evan was passing by her store, he saw a closed sign on the store’s door. When the shop remained closed for not just two days, Evan was worried he’d never be able to get his “dream job”. 85-year-old Mrs. Carter was a woman selling flowers for a living and Evan had befriended her when he helped her cross the street one day. Now seeing her again, Evan ran up to her and greeted her. “Can I help you today, Evan? Do you want flowers?” Mrs. Carter asked. Evan smiled, “I’m looking for a job! Can you please hire me?” “A job?” the elderly lady laughed, thinking Evan was too little for that. But Evan proudly replied he knew many things, like making sandwiches and helping his mom get grocery bags from the car. Mrs. Carter laughed and asked Evan how much money she would have to pay him if she hired him. Evan shook his head. “All I want is a big bouquet (花束) for my mom. Her name is Stacey and her birthday is one week away. Mom says we should work hard for what we want. I want to work hard for that bouquet. Can you hire me?” Evan asked. Mrs. Carter was impressed and nodded. Then for a whole week, Evan would come to Mrs. Carter’s store in the evenings and help her, and having Evan around relieved Mrs. Carter’s boredom while she was working. Some customers thought Evan was lovely and entertaining, so they bought more flowers. Mrs. Carter’s business became better. A week later, on Evan’s last day on the job, Mrs. Carter was emotional. They had grown close for working together, and Evan had become like a grandchild to her. While making a huge bouquet for Evan’s mother, Mrs. Carter secretly placed one envelope into the bouquet. The envelope contained $200. When handing him the bouquet, she said, “Will you come to see me someday, Evan? I’d be delighted to have you here.” “I will!” Evan smiled and waved goodbye to Mrs. Carter. Paragraph1: Carrying the flowers, Evan rushed home to surprise his mom. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Paragraph2: Then, Evan and his mom hurried to return the money to Mrs. Carter. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】Paragraph 1: Carrying the flowers, Evan rushed home to surprise his mom. “Happy birthday, Mom!” he cried, running up to her. Stacey was shocked at the huge bouquet. “Where did you get it?” she asked. When Evan told the whole story, Stacey was delighted and hugged her son closely. Evan smiled and was about to give her the bouquet when he suddenly noticed the envelope. He pulled it out and found the money in it. “But I told Mrs. Carter not to pay me! I think this got here by mistake!” said Evan. Paragraph 2: Then, Evan and his mom hurried to return the money to Mrs. Carter. When they reached her shop and were about to return the money, Mrs. Carter smiled and said, “It’s my pay for Evan. He did a very good job. Keep it. The flowers are my gift for you.” Stacey was grateful for Mrs. Carter’s kindness and invited her home for dinner that night to celebrate her birthday together. From then on, Stacey started to join Evan in helping Mrs. Carter in her shop and they became friends. 得到:get/obtain/gain/recieve ②.拥抱:hug/hold in one's arms/embrace ③.返还:give back/return 情绪类 ①.感谢:be grateful for/showing one’s appreciation/show one’s gratitude ②. Fête des Vignerons, Vevey The Fête des Vignerons takes place every 20 years in Vevey, which is full of activities, history and centuries-old traditions and was the first Swiss intangible cultural heritage (非物质文化遗产) included into the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2016. 24. C They grow considerate and caring. D. They can beat mental loneliness. C As Internet users become more dependent on the Internet to store information, are people remember less? A Sparrow’s team typed the information into a computer. D Some specialists doubt often using noise-cancelling headphones against background noise may hurt people’s hearing skills. D Leading to their lazy state of mind. Noise-Cancelling Headphones Cause a Condition 第二节 (共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分) Playing sports helps to maintain physical fitness. Carter. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $英语听力模拟试题28,第一节听下面5段对话。 Hey, key, did you hear about judy's birthday celebration?
