Period III Section A Grammar Focus(3a-3c) The analysis of the text Grammar Focus 3a - 3c focuses on the grammar of exclamatory sentences, which is an important part of English grammar learning. It helps students to express strong emotions more vividly in English communication, such as surprise, admiration, and excitement. This lesson not only enriches students' language expression but also improves their language application ability in real - life situations related to food and daily life. The analysis of students Students learned some basic sentence structures and have a certain vocabulary base. They can express simple ideas in declarative sentences. However, the structure and usage of exclamatory sentences are new to them, and they may have difficulties in correctly using "what" and "how" to start exclamatory sentences and in understanding the differences between the two. Core competences    Through the lesson, ss will be able to: 1. master the basic structures of what - and how - guided exclamatory sentences. 2. improve students' ability to transform ordinary sentences into exclamatory sentences accurately. 3. arouse students' interest in English grammar learning through the exploration of exclamatory sentences in the context of delicious food. Greetings. 2.Have a free talk about extremely delicious-looking food and lead ss to show their feelings. Ss greet and try to express their feelings. Some may say “The food looks so delicious” or “I really want to eat it”. To check whether students can correctly use exclamatory sentences. Purpose Arouse students' interest in the topic of food and create a context for the introduction of exclamatory sentences. Step II Presentation Work on 3a 1.Present sentences from the Grammar Focus and have ss read aloud. 2.Explain the formation rules of basic structures and usage of what - and how - guided exclamatory sentences giving a lot of examples. Students look through the sentences in the form and do the exercises in 3a and 3b, and communicate with their partners about the answers. To observe whether students can master the exclamatory sentences. Purpose To lead students to master the use of exclamatory sentences. Step III Practice 1. T asks students to finish the task in 3b-- change the sentences into exclamatory sentences. 2. T asks students to finish the task in 3c-- Complete the conversatios using the correct exclamatory sentences. Students finish and check their answers in 3b and 3c. To check the accuracy of exclamatory sentences. Purpose Strengthen students' understanding and application of exclamatory sentence structures through written exercises. Step IV Summary 1. Summarize the key points of this class, including the structures and usage of what - and how - guided exclamatory sentences. Ask students if they have any questions. 2. The teacher guides students to complete the assessment. Students recall the learned knowledge of today and complete the assessment form. To check if students can summarize the knowledge they learned. Purpose Students can talk with each other with the expressions learned. Step V Homework You must do: Recite the examples of exclamatory sentences in Grammar Focus. If you can: Make a short video introducing a special food from their hometown, using exclamatory sentences to express the unique features of the food. Homework can help students strengthen the knowledge which they have learned. Purpose Let students in different level to build up their confidence and expand language output and help students strengthen the knowledge they have learned. Teaching Reflection Some students still had difficulties in differentiating between "what" and "how" in complex sentence situations. They made mistakes in choosing the correct guiding words for exclamatory sentences.In the pair - work, a few students were less confident and didn't participate fully.
