Step1.Lead-in导入
Enjoy a video about two yards,one is a western yard,the other is a Chinese yard.
T:What can you see in the video ? Do you like the the two yards ? Which one do you like better? Why?

S2:…(让学生观看视频后谈论自己对中西方庭院的喜好和看法,让他们用简单的英语谈论心中的想法)
T: Today,we are going to visit a lovely yard.Let's find out what is fun in a yard!
Step 2. presentation呈现
1. Look at the topic picture and point out the main character in it.(Peter,Helen,Fuxing)看主题图,复习认识本书出现的主要人物
2. What plants and animals can you see?(explain the word “animal”)谈论图中出现的动植物,通过看图说英语,看英语说中文,英汉互译达到熟悉新单词复习旧单词的效果。
3. translate and read six words in 1a.译读新单词
Baby chickens,dog,rabbits,tomato,plants,
flowers,apple trees.
4. match the plants and animals with their names then check the answers.将图片和单词搭配
5. play a game.通过玩猜词游戏熟悉四个询问物品的句型,问答形式复习巩固新单词,玩中学,学中玩,让枯燥的英语学习变得生动有趣。
show some photos of plants and animals.ask students to guess what's this/that? What are these/those?
Step 3.new knowledge learning.
1. distinguish this/that and these/those.这四个单词是学生容易混淆的四个指示代词,this指代近处,单数,译为“这,这个” that指代远处,单数,译为“那,那个”these这些,复数;those那些,复数。把这四个词放在一起讲解,易于区分,加深印象。

3. Change singular nouns into plural nouns

Step 4. activity
1. read the sentences in the picture in la three times.
what's that? It's a cat.what are these? They're carrot plants.
2. show three examples about the sentence patterns:
What's this/that?It's...What are these/those? They're...
3. pair work
Ask two students to ask and answer:one student come to the front of the blackboard and point the picture of the yard on PPT.The other student answer What's this/that? What're these/those?
Then change the role to ask and answer.
通过让学生反复读1a的主题图里的对话,达到让学生输入信息的效果,再另两个举例让学生更多地输入知识,最后通过1b小组练习以达到输出的目的。以学生为主体,教师主导,通过知识的输入,内化,最后输出,讲练结合,使知识巩固强化。

1. 基础性作业(必做):copy the words and sentence patterns three times.
2.拔高性作业(选做):draw a picture of your dream yard write 3 to 5 sentences to describe your yard.
