1.Show the sentences mentioned in 3a on Page 23 to the Ss.Then ask them to read the sentences and circle the verbs.
(1)—Are you Peter?
—Yes,I am./No,I'm not.
(2)—Are Meimei and Peter in the same class?
—Yes,they are./No,they aren't.
(3)—Where is Mr Smith from?
—He's from the US.
(4)—What class are you in?
—I'm in Class 1,Grade 7.
(5)—Who's your class teacher?
—It's Ms Gao.
2.Summarise the form of the circled verbs and introduce the grammar—be verbs.

2.人称代词主格和系动词be搭配记忆口诀
我(I)用am,你(you)用are,
is连着他(he)、她(she)、它(it),
单数用is,复数全用are。

疑问否定任你变,句首大写莫迟疑。
