Show the pictures of the items Van needs to buy (dictionary, sneakers, blouses, food), and ask: "Where does Van go shopping for...?" Guide the students to use "He shops for..." at the...” Answer. The final question: "After shopping, what will he get?" (What will he obtain after shopping?) This naturally leads to the topic of the receipt. Quickly answer the questions, review the previous knowledge. Guess the teacher's question to lead to the new word "receipt". 激活已有知识,建立新旧联系。通过提问制造信息差,自然引出本课主题“Purchases”和“Receipts”,激发学习兴趣。 Step 2: Presentation and Interpretation 1.Concept Explanation & Example Analysis. Show the PPT of three shopping receipts (from Department Store, Books, Food Mart) on page 42. Explain the concepts: what is a receipt, what is the total amount. Lead the students to read the first receipt and analyze the example: What did Van buy? How much is the shirt? How much are the shirts? What's the total? Guide students to discover the relationship between the singular and plural forms and the expression of prices. 2.Listening Practice - Numbers. Play the TR25 audio. Comparison and Analysis: Before playing, write down and compare the difficult reading numbers on the blackboard, such as: 12.95 / twelve ninety-five vs 34.50 / thirty-four fifty. Play TR26 and guide the students to complete the practice of filling in the prices. 1.Listen carefully and repeat. Under the guidance of the teacher, try to interpret the information on the other two receipts. 2.Mark or write down the correct answers. Explain the core sentence structure: How much is the [singular noun]? It's... How much are the [plural nouns]? They're.... 2.Role-Play. Use the products in the PPT pictures to conduct mechanical and meaningful substitution exercises for the whole class → groups → individuals. Organize pair work, and require students to act out the role-play (customer - clerk) based on the examples and prompts on page 43 of the textbook. Imitate and practice sentence patterns. Guide students to complete P43 Ex E and P44 Ex F. 2.Group activity: Class Survey. Assign group tasks: Investigate the most commonly used payment methods by group members. Instruct students on how to record data and complete the bar graph on page 44 of the textbook. Invite the group representatives to present the results. 1.Learn new words and complete the matching exercises. 2.Conduct the investigation, record the data and create the charts within the group. Step 6: Summary and Homework 1.Summary. Summary of what was learned in this lesson: ① How to inquire about prices? ② What are the payment methods? ③ How to read the receipt? 2.Homework. Copy down the new vocabulary and sentence patterns of this lesson, and use "How much is/are..." to make sentences.
