Since we’ve had quite a few medical problems, we’ve been advised to get more exercise. One day I had an idea. It seemed kind of silly at first, but I actually thought it might work so I told Dave about it. What if we paid ourselves to walk? My plan was this: we would each keep track of our walking time on the calendar, adding it up as “walking points.” Whenever we reached 120 points, we would get $10 to spend on or save up for whatever we wanted. In addition to the money, I figured there would be a little competition, which might add to our motivation. Since our money is often set aside for bills and living costs, or catching up on credit card spending, we don’t often have anything extra to buy things that are not necessary. Dave liked the idea, so we started putting it into practice, and to my surprise, it worked! Dave soon began keeping up his 20 minutes a day. One of the first things Dave bought was a guitar. Another time he got Bluetooth headphones. As I write this, he has saved up $155 for some unknown item(物品) he hasn’t decided on yet. The plan worked for me as well. I became more willing to walk during my break time at work. The competitive side of the plan worked as well. We found ourselves telling others that we had to go out for walks so we could earn our walking points. “Dave is way ahead of me this week,” I would say. When I first thought of this idea, I also wondered how we could afford it. But as I told Dave at the time, if we kept walking, we might save on medical bills. Didn’t it make sense to stay healthier and not need a doctor? We had spent thousands of dollars on medical bills in the past. Why not spend it on ourselves to stay healthy? 24. What inspired the author and her husband to walk? A. A prize system. B. A fitness program. C. A doctor’s suggestion. D. An app for tracking steps. 25. What was unexpected for the author? A. She saved a lot of money. B. Her husband was supportive. C. Her idea was really effective. D. She did better than her husband. 26. What was the competitive side of the plan? A. The author set herself and her husband specific goals. B. The author aimed to take part in a sports competition. C. The author tried to break as many bad habits as possible. D. The author presented a friendly challenge to her husband. 27. What is the best title for the text? A. It pays to keep walking B. Money cannot buy health C. A dollar saved is a dollar earned D. Daily walking keeps the doctor away C Teenagers’ fitness is now a major concern, to which physical exercise is very important. It reduces stress and improves fitness. Exercise makes your body strong, and helps you to keep the right body weight. Sports scientist Dr. Helen Lopez offers the following advice to teenagers: “Firstly, you need to find out your present level of fitness. Then you can design a programme that will help you become healthier.” Dr. Lopez suggests that there are three levels of fitness that need a change of lifestyle. “Overweight” means that the person gets very little exercise and often has a serious weight problem. “Inactive” means that the person does not join in many physical activities, but is not seriously overweight. “Active” refers to people who take part in sports and other physical activities, but do not have a high fitness level. According to Dr. Lopez, overweight teenagers should keep active to keep healthy. Ride a bike, play volleyball or basketball for a while, and go for a twenty-minute walk each day. All these will help to burn up calories. Inactive teenagers should do similar activities, but add some bending and stretching exercises, such as push-ups(俯卧撑) and sit-ups(仰卧起坐), starting with twenty of each a day. “Inactive people can take a little more exercise than overweight people because their bodies are stronger,” said Dr. Lopez. The same principle applies to active teenagers. Dr. Lopez suggests one hour a week or more on running and other forms of intensive exercise, together with fifteen minutes a day spent on stretching and bending activities. “These are really important in order to prevent injuries,” Dr. Lopez said. Some weight-training and other body-strengthening exercises could also be planned in the programme in order to increase the person’s strength. 28. What can we learn from the passage? A. Active people always have a high fitness level. B. Overweight people always take more exercise. C. Inactive teenagers are not seriously overweight. D. Keeping fit means changing teenagers’ lifestyle. 29. Which of the following statements is NOT mentioned in the text? A. Physical exercise can make the teenagers grow taller. B. Physical exercise can help teenagers become healthier. C. Physical exercise can help to burn up calories. D. Physical exercise can increase teenagers’ strength. 30. In order to prevent injuries, you should do some ________ exercises. A. walking B. stretching and bending C. riding D. weight-training 31. What is the best title for the passage? A. Doing exercises B. Teenagers’ fitness C. Different lifestyles D. Overweight teenagers D Motorcyclists seeking to solidify their reputation as risk-takers could do worse than(不妨做某事) book a session on a Wall of Death. These are small circular velodromes(圆形赛车场) where the track almost stands at an angle of 90° to Earth’s surface. What drives these brave souls up the wall is their speed. At around 50 kph, the forces acting on them are strong enough to counterbalance gravity’s pull, and keep them pushed outward. Now a group of scientists have tracked down one more need for such equipment. In a paper in Royal Society Open Science, they propose that astronauts living on NASA’s planned lunar base could run on the track to prevent their bodies from wasting away(变得消瘦、衰弱) under the Moon’s reduced gravitational pull. In low-gravity environments, muscle decreases in strength, bone becomes easily broken and fitness and motor abilities decline. Even exercise, made less effective by weightlessness, struggles to counteract such effects. Alberto Minetti from the University of Milan wondered if running in a Wall of Death might provide a workout capable of limiting the body’s decline. To test it he rented a 10-metre-wide Wall of Death and called in two brave volunteers. His team tied the volunteers, a man and a woman, to ropes hanging from a crane(起重机) above the track. The ropes relieved the volunteers of five-sixths of their body weight, in effect mirroring the Moon’s gravity. After some practice rounds, the volunteers could run parallel to(与……平行) the ground at speeds averaging around 20 kph, without assistance. Dr Minetti says such motion can generate a force on the body similar to the effect of gravity on Earth. According to his calculations, running this way may be enough to battle the negative effects of lunar life. NASA may not even need to find extra room: he suggests that if the lunar shelters for the Artemis Base Camp were built in a circular design, astronauts could simply go for a jog around the inside walls. In principle it is “not a completely crazy idea,” says Kevin Fong, a doctor and specialist in space medicine at University College London. But, he adds, the limited medical care available in space means he would be nervous about astronauts running at speed. 32. Why is a Wall of Death mentioned in paragraph 1? A. To highlight its great forces. B. To stress its tough challenge. C. To imply its another good use. D. To show its global popularity. 33. What was the purpose of Dr Minetti’s experiment? A. To explore exercises for astronauts in space. B. To find approaches to cycling in a Wall of Death. C. To assess the benefits of workouts on the Moon. D. To measure the impact of gravity on human health. 34. What is paragraph 4 mainly about? A. The method used to create lunar gravity. B. The process for selecting brave volunteers. C. The speed required for the body’s movement. D. The cooperation needed in low-gravity conditions. 35. What is Fong’s attitude towards Dr Minett’s suggestion? A. He is optimistic about it. B. He does not care about it. C. He is strongly opposed to it. D. He does not fully support it. We all know that exercise is good for our health. But some kinds of exercise may be better than others. Running, for example, may help to protect against the heart disease and other health problems. Running is good exercise, but it can  be hard on the body. 36 Take it easy. Do not run too much or too fast. Most people get running injuries when they push themselves too hard. The body needs time to get used to the increases in distance or speed. 37 Listen to your body. Most running injuries do not come unexpectedly(出乎意料地). 38   They may include body aches, sore muscles(肌肉) and pain that does not go away. 39 There are no best shoes for every runner. You should find the shoes that offer the best fit  and support  to your feet. More importantly, you should replace your shoes every 500 to 800 kilometers. Take good notes. Spend some time after each run writing down what you did and how you felt. Look for things that happen over and over again. These notes will help you find the best exercise for you. Cross training. As we said earlier, running is hard on your body. So physical fitness experts suggest some forms of cross-training to improve muscle balance and to help you avoid injuries. They say, besides running, swimming, yoga and riding a bicycle are good exercise. 40 A. Get good running shoes. B. Usually, there are warning signs. C. They are easier on the body. D. Running may also help you live longer. E. Muscles and joints (关节) need time to recover. F. Here are five ways to reduce the risk of injuries. G. Edward had completely stopped talking two years ago. It all started after a terrifying storm that struck their town. Edward was at home alone when the power went out, and the loud thunder and flashes of lightning left him terrified. After that night, he became increasingly withdrawn(孤僻的), and eventually, he stopped speaking altogether. When Victoria took her son to the hospital, the doctors were convinced that it wasn’t anything physical, but rather it was psychological. Since then, Victoria has come to accept Edward’s condition as their new normal. She tried taking him to therapy, but he still wouldn’t speak. One day, Victoria got into an accident after she came back from work. Victoria went into a coma(昏迷), and her family was greatly saddened by her condition. Victoria’s husband, Oliver, struggled to keep their family strong and hopeful. Things were already difficult with Edward not speaking, but now Victoria was in a coma. The doctors were not sure how to bring Victoria out of the coma. They just suggested that the family all talk to Victoria whenever they got the chance. They believed that the voices of family members might help bring Victoria back to consciousness. During the following weeks, Victoria’s family would visit her and talk to her, although she never responded. Victoria’s doctors said that even though Victoria wasn’t conscious, her brain was working and that talking with her family could help her get over her condition as soon as possible. While the family would come to talk to her every day, Victoria’s condition didn’t improve. Edward used to sit with Victoria for hours, crying at her bedside. He missed his mother very much, and he hoped that her mother would get better soon. One day when Oliver and Edward were visiting Victoria, Oliver left the room to answer a call from work, leaving Edward and Victoria alone. In desperation, Edward cleared his throat and tried something he hadn’t done for long. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The doctors said it was Edward’s song that had helped Victoria come back. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 试题 第7页(共10页) 试题 第8页(共10页) 试题 第9页(共10页) 试题 第10页(共10页) 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $ 2025-2026学年高一必修第二册英语单元测试 Unit 2●提升卷 学校:___________班级:___________姓名:___________分数:___________ (时间:120分钟,满分:150分) 注意事项: 1. 1. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The doctors said it was Edward’s song that had helped Victoria come back. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ( 10 / 10 )学科网(北京)股份有限公司 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $ 2025-2026学年高一必修第二册英语单元测试 Unit 2●提升卷(参考答案) 第一部分 听力(共两节,满分30分) 1. With tears in his eyes, he softly sang a song that his mother used to sing to him. Then, suddenly, Edward felt a light squeeze in his palm. Victoria began to respond, gripping Edward’s hand tighter. Oliver stepped in to see Victoria’s hand movement and couldn’t believe what he was witnessing. He instantly rushed out of the room, looking for the doctors. The doctors finally came in to check on Victoria, and she was indeed coming out of her coma. The doctors said it was Edward’s song that had helped Victoria come back. Over the next couple of days, Victoria began to recover. She was glad to see her family and missed them dearly. Edward’s voice, once lost, began to return. One sunny afternoon, Victoria gently took Edward’s hands. Her eyes filled with gratitude, she conveyed her deep appreciation for Edward’s efforts. Edward felt warmth in his heart. Daily walking keeps the doctor away 【答案】24. C 25. C 26. D 27. 根据文章第一段“Since we’ve had quite a few medical problems, we’ve been advised to get more exercise.(由于我们有一些健康问题,我们被建议要多运动)”可知,由于身体健康问题,医生建议作者和丈夫多运动;由此可知,医生的建议激励了作者和她的丈夫去散步。故选C。 25. 根据文章第四段“Dave liked the idea, so we started putting it into practice, and to my surprise, it worked!(戴夫喜欢这个主意,所以我们开始把它付诸实践,令我惊讶的是,它奏效了)”可知,作者的想法十分有效,这是作者没有预料到的。故选C。 26. 根据文章第二段“In addition to the money, I figured there would be a little competition, which might add to our motivation.(除了钱,我还觉得会有一些竞争,这可能会增加我们的动力)”及倒数第二段“The competitive side of the plan worked as well. We found ourselves telling others that we had to go out for walks so we could earn our walking points. “Dave is way ahead of me this week,” I would say.(这个计划的竞争方面也发挥了作用。我们发现自己会告诉别人,我们必须出去散步,这样我们才能获得步行积分。‘戴夫这周走在了我前面,’我会说)”可知,计划的竞争面是作者向丈夫提出了友好的挑战,增加动力的同时获得步行积分。故选D。 27. 主旨大意题。根据文章第二段“What if we paid ourselves to walk? My plan was this: we would each keep track of our walking time on the calendar, adding it up as “walking points.” Whenever we reached 120 points, we would get $10 to spend on or save up for whatever we wanted.(如果我们付钱让自己走路呢? A。 C Teenagers’ fitness is now a major concern, to which physical exercise is very important. Overweight teenagers 【答案】28. C 29. A 30. B 31. 根据第二段中的““Inactive” means that the person does not join in many physical activities, but is not seriously overweight.(“不活跃”是指这个人不参加很多体育活动,但没有严重超重)”可知,不活跃指的是不经常参加体育锻炼,但不是过度肥胖。 根据第一段中的“It reduces stress and improves fitness. Exercise makes your body strong, and helps you to keep the right body weight.(它可以减轻压力,提高身体素质。运动使你的身体强壮,并帮助你保持适当的体重)”可知,锻炼能让青少年更健康,B选项正确;根据第三段中的“Ride a bike, play volleyball or basketball for a while, and go for a twenty-minute walk each day. All these will help to burn up calories.(骑自行车,打一会儿排球或篮球,每天散步20分钟。所有这些都有助于燃烧卡路里)”可知,锻炼能够燃烧热量,故C项正确;根据最后一段中的“Some weight-training and other body-strengthening exercises could also be planned in the programme in order to increase the person’s strength.(一些重量训练和其他加强身体的运动也可以计划在计划中,以增加人的力量)”可知,锻炼能增加人的力量,D项正确;A选项在文中未提到。故选A。 30. 根据最后一段的“Dr Lopez suggests one hour a week or more on running and other forms of intensive exercise, together with fifteen minutes a day spent on stretching and bending activities. “These are really important in order to prevent injuries,” Dr Lopez said.(Dr Lopez建议每周至少花一个小时进行跑步和其他形式的高强度运动,同时每天花15分钟进行伸展和弯曲运动。Dr Lopez说:“这些对防止受伤非常重要。”)”可知,为了防止受伤,你应该做一些伸展和弯曲运动。故选B。 31. 主旨大意题。根据首段中的“Teenagers’ fitness is now a major concern, to which physical exercise is very important. It reduces stress and improves fitness.(青少年的健康现在是一个大问题,体育锻炼是非常重要的。它可以减轻压力,提高身体素质)”以及全文内容可知,本文首段首先提出话题,接下来分析了青少年常见的健康问题,并给出具体的运动方案,可以判断,本文的主题为青少年的健康。因此推断B项“Teenagers’ fitness(青少年的健康)”为最佳标题。故选B。 D Motorcyclists seeking to solidify their reputation as risk-takers could do worse than(不妨做某事) book a session on a Wall of Death. C 33. A 34. A 35. 根据第一段的句子“Motorcyclists seeking to solidify their reputation as risk-takers could do worse than(不妨做某事) book a session on a Wall of Death. These are small circular velodromes (圆形赛车场) where the track almost stands at an angle of 90° to Earth’s surface. What drives these brave souls up the wall is their speed. In a paper in Royal Society Open Science, they propose that astronauts living on NASA’ s planned lunar base could run on the track to prevent their bodies from wasting away(变得消瘦、衰弱) under the Moon’s reduced gravitational pull.(现在,一组科学家已经找到了对这种设备的另一种需求。在《英国皇家学会开放科学》杂志上的一篇论文中,他们提出,生活在美国宇航局计划中的月球基地的宇航员可以在轨道上跑步,以防止他们的身体在月球引力减弱的情况下消瘦)”可推知,死亡之墙被提及是为了强调其作为一种极限运动的挑战性,并引出下文科学家对其新用途的研究。故选C项。 33. 细节理解题。根据第三段的句子“In low-gravity environments, muscle decreases in strength, bone becomes easily broken and fitness and motor abilities decline. Even exercise, made less effective by weightlessness, struggles to counteract such effects. Alberto Minetti from the University of Milan wondered if running in a Wall of Death might provide a workout capable of limiting the body’s decline. The ropes relieved the volunteers of five-sixths of their body weight, in effect mirroring the Moon’s gravity. After some practice rounds, the volunteers could run parallel to(与……平行) the ground at speeds averaging around 20 kph, without assistance.(他的团队把志愿者(一男一女)绑在铁轨上方吊车上悬挂的绳子上。这些绳索减轻了志愿者六分之五的体重,实际上反映了月球的重力。经过几轮练习后,志愿者可以在没有辅助的情况下以平均20公里/小时的速度平行于地面跑步)”可知,第四段的主要讲的是实验中他们用来制造月球引力的方法。故选A项。 35. 根据最后一段的句子“In principle it is “not a completely crazy idea,” says Kevin Fong, a doctor and specialist in space medicine at University College London. But, he adds, the limited medical care available in space means he would be nervous about astronauts running at speed.(原则上,这“并不是一个完全疯狂的想法,”伦敦大学学院的太空医学博士和专家Kevin Fong说。但是,他补充说,太空中有限的医疗保健意味着他会对宇航员的高速奔跑感到紧张)”可推知,Kevin Fong并不完全支持Dr Minetti的建议。故选D项。 第二节(共5小题:每小题2. 5分, 满分12. 5分) 阅读下面短文, 从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 We all know that exercise is good for our health. G. As Nike’s running shoe ad says, “Just do it.” F 37. E 38. B 39. A 40. 36. 由上文“Running is good exercise, but it can be hard on the body. (跑步是很好的锻炼,但对身体可能有伤害。)”及下文“Take it easy. 注意: 1. 续写词数应为150个左右; 2. 请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 In desperation, Edward cleared his throat and tried something he hadn’t done for long. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The doctors said it was Edward’s song that had helped Victoria come back. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】 In desperation, Edward cleared his throat and tried something he hadn’t done for long.
