| Teacher: Great! Many of you have interesting trip experiences. Today, we will learn Section B (1a-1d) of Unit 7 "A Day to Remember". We will listen to some people talking about their trips, and learn to describe past events. First, let's look at some pictures. (Show pictures of different activities: milking a cow, riding a horse, feeding chickens, visiting a fire station, going for a walk, taking photos) Teacher: What is he/she doing in this picture? (Point to the picture of milking a cow) Student 1: He is milking a cow. Teacher: Very good! "Milking a cow" (write on the blackboard). What about this one? (Point to riding a horse) Student 2: She is riding a horse. Teacher: Correct! "Riding a horse" (write on the blackboard). Let's read these phrases together: milk a cow, ride a horse, feed chickens, visit a fire station, go for a walk, take photos. (Students read the phrases after the teacher twice) Design Intention The daily talk uses the past tense sentence patterns related to trips to review the knowledge of the past tense learned in Section A, laying a foundation for the new lesson. Showing pictures to present the key phrases can make the abstract vocabulary more intuitive, help students understand and remember them quickly, and arouse students' interest in learning. |
Step 2: Presentation (10 minutes) | 2.1 Introduce Adjectives for Feelings Teacher: When we talk about a trip, we often talk about how we felt. Look at the words on the screen: exciting, scary, interesting, boring, wonderful, relaxing. (Write the words on the blackboard) Teacher: Let's learn their meanings. "Exciting" means making you feel very happy and interested. For example, a trip to the amusement park is exciting. |
