教学过程

教学环节

学习活动(包含设计意图)

Step 1: Warming-up & Lead-in (5 minutes)

1.1 Greeting and Daily Talk (1 minute)

Teacher: Good morning, class!

Students: Good morning, teacher!

Teacher: How are you today?

Students: We are fine, thank you. And you?

Teacher: I'm great. Did you have any interesting things happen to you last week? Who wants to share with us?

(Invite 1-2 students to share briefly, using simple past tense sentences. If students have difficulty, the teacher can give examples, such as "Last week, I was reading a book when my cat jumped on the desk.")

1.2 Lead-in with Pictures (4 minutes)

The teacher shows a set of pictures on the PPT, including unexpected events such as "a mobile phone suddenly rings", "a bird jumps out of the window", "it suddenly rains when someone is walking", etc.

Teacher: Look at these pictures. What happened in them? They are all unexpected things. (Write "unexpected" on the blackboard, pronounce it /ˌʌnɪkˈspektɪd/ and explain its meaning: not expected.)

Teacher: When unexpected things happen, what were people doing at that moment? Today we will learn Unit 7 A Day to Remember, and we will talk about what people were doing when unexpected events happened.

Design Intention: The daily talk links students' real life with the lesson content, reducing their psychological distance from the new knowledge. The picture display intuitively presents the core concept of "unexpected events", helps students understand the meaning of the key word "unexpected", and naturally leads to the topic of the lesson, laying a foundation for the learning of subsequent vocabulary and sentence structures.

Step 2: Presentation (10 minutes)

2.1 Vocabulary Presentation (5 minutes)

The teacher continues to use the PPT pictures to present other key vocabularies:

Point to the picture of "a mobile phone suddenly rings": This is a mobile phone. It is ringing now. (Write "ring - rang - rung" on the blackboard, explain the meaning: make a sound, and give an example: My phone rang just now.)

Point to the picture of "someone picking up a phone": When the phone rings, what do we do? We pick up the phone. (Write "pick up" on the blackboard, explain the meaning: lift something with hands, especially a phone, and demonstrate the action.)

Point to the picture of "people staring at a strange thing": They are looking at the thing for a long time because it is strange. So they are staring at it. (Write "stare at" on the blackboard, explain the meaning: look at something fixedly, and demonstrate the expression.)

Point to the picture of "a bird jumping out of the window suddenly": The bird came out quickly and unexpectedly. So it suddenly jumped out. (Write "suddenly" on the blackboard, pronounce it /ˈsʌdənli/ and explain the meaning: happening quickly and unexpectedly.)

The teacher leads students to read the vocabulary 2-3 times, paying attention to correcting their pronunciation. Then, use quick response to check students' mastery: the teacher says the Chinese meaning, and students say the English word or phrase.

2.2 Sentence Structure Presentation (5 minutes)
