在小学阶段，学生对于26个英文字母并不陌生，在初中课本的过渡单元以键盘的形式再次呈现，很好地引导学生进一步认识字母，并认识到字母的实用性及便捷性；帮助学生掌握字母发音的元音音素，使其初步了解音标，为接下来的元音字母的音标等学习奠定基础；部分缩略词的认识，让学生了解字母也具有相应的主题意义，了解具有中国特色和时代特点的缩略词，加强其爱国主义情怀。

首先，让学生听26个字母并以问答的对话形式在键盘中找到它们，了解了字母在键盘中的位置；其次，以听音跟读的形式让学生了解字母的不同元音音素的发音，给26个字母分类；然后，学生通过听和看的方式获取缩略词的信息；最后，以听唱歌曲的形式重温26个字母。
