A.- 作介词时,along意为“沿着”：

①、Many trees were planted along the river-bank.沿着河岸种植了许多树.

②、There are trees all along the road.沿着这条路从头到尾都有树.

③、The Chinese people are pressing ahead along the socialist road.

中国人民正沿着社会主义道路奋勇前进.

④、Go along / straight the street, you will find the post office at the end of the road.

B.- 作副词时along意为“向前”,常与动词或介词with连用,构成一些常用词组.例如：

①、Let us walk along.让我们向前步行.

②、she will send it back along with some other things.她将此物与其他东西一并送回.

③、He gets along very well with us.他和我们相处很好.

④、How are you getting along?

⑤、How is she getting along with her work?她工作进展如何?

⑥、I knew that all along.对那件事我一开始就知道.

C along with随同…一起

①、It’s exciting to read the poem along with the gentle music.

②、Mother sent me some money along with her letter.

③、The situation is going along with the plan.沿着

▲2.pass

1.通过；走过；经过[单独使用的动词]

Several people were passing but nobody offered to help.有几个人擦肩而过，却没有人主动提出帮助。

I hailed a passing taxi.我招呼了一辆路过的出租车。

[动词 + 名词短语]

You'll pass a bank on the way to the train station.你在去火车站的路上会经过一家银行。

She passed me in the street without even saying hello.她在街上与我擦肩而过，却连一声招呼也没打。

There was a truck behind that was trying to pass me.后面有一辆卡车想要超过我。

2给；递；传递

pass sb. sth.=   pass sth to sb.   =  pass on sth to sb.  =  pass sth on to sb.

①、   Please pass me the salt. 请把盐递给我。=Please pass the salt to me.

=Please pass on the salt to me =Please pass the salt on to me.

②、He took off his books and passed them to the guard.

③、Please pass on the magazine to your friends.

3. 传球He passed the ball to Owen.他把球传给欧文。

4. 转移给，遗留给（继承人等）

On his death, the title passed to his eldest son.他死后，封号传给长子。

5.(of an amount 数量) 大于；超过

Unemployment has now passed the three million mark .失业人口现已突破三百万大关。

6. ~ from sth to/into 转变；变化；过渡

She had passed from childhood to early womanhood.她已由孩童变成青年女子。

7 时间推移；逝去

Six months passed and we still had no news of them.半年过去了，我们仍然没有他们的音讯。

8. 消磨；度过；打发

We sang songs to pass the time .我们借唱歌消磨时间。

9.[单独使用的动词]  结束；完结They waited for the storm to pass.他们等待暴风雨过去。

10测验；考试 及格；合格

[单独使用的动词]I'm not really expecting to pass first time.我真不指望第一次就能合格。

[动词 + 名词短语]She hasn't passed her driving test yet.她还没有通过驾驶执照考试。

11 准予通过；承认合格

The examiners passed all the candidates.主考人评定考生全部及格。

12 经表决通过（动议、法律等）

The bill was passed by 360 votes to 280.这个法案以360票对280票获得通过。

13.允许I don't like it, but I'll let it pass (= will not object) .我不喜欢，但我也不会反对。

14.发生；说出（或做出）[单独使用的动词]

They'll never be friends again after all that has passed between them.

经过了这么多事情，他们已经友谊难再了。

15. 不要；免掉

Thanks. I'm going to pass on dessert, if you don't mind.谢谢，您若不介意，我就免了饭后甜点吧。

C.- 名词 n. 1.穿过,经过[C];2.通行证;护照;入场证[C]; 3.及格;及格分数[C]; 4.传球动作[C]

①、No pass, no passage. 没有通行证不得通过。

②、He got a pass in English. 他英语考试得了个及格分数。

▲3.except / but / besides / beside的区别  【9AP18】

A.- except 除…之外；（除去的部分不包含在内）

①、The window is never opened except summer.

②、We have lessons every day except Sunday.

B.-except for除…之外；只是…。这个结构表示对一个人或事物作总的评价之后；在就局部提出一点建议或看法。

①、Your composition is good except for a few spelling mistakes.

②、The dress is quite nice except for the color.

C.-but = except; 但是but 常用于 no one; nobody; nothing; nowhere; all; everyone; everything; everywhere等词之后。而且but前有do 的任何形式，则后面的动词用原形，否则需要接带to 的不定式。

①、It has no choice but to live down and sleep.          ②、I could do nothing but wait

③、I have asked on one but her to help me.        ④、Everyone but me has been to the London Bridge.

⑤、She left nothing but a message on the table.

D.-besides prep  除…之外；（除去的部分包含在内）

①、We are all present besides Tom.      ②、Besides, I enjoy listening to the popular music.

③、Besides German, she can speak French and Italian.

E.-beside 在…的旁边

①、He saw that ten soldiers were standing beside the pole.

②、There is a small house beside the lake.

1.-[n.]轮流，转弯（处）It’s one’s turn to do sth.轮到某人做某事

①、It’s your turn to clean the classroom.

take one’s turn(动词短语) 依次；轮流     in turn(介词短语，相当于副词) 依次；轮流

①、When people are waiting for a bus, he takes his turn.

②、The children got on the train in turn.

take turns to do sth.轮流做某事

①、We took turns to look after our sick grandmother.

2.-[v.] 翻转，翻动；旋转，转动；转向；（使）变得;达到，超过（某一年龄或时间）

①、I pressed the button and the lathe [leɪð] (车床，机床;)began to turn.  

②、She turned the wheel to the left.

③、Please turn to page23.

④、Leaves turn yellow in autumn.

⑤、Ten years later, he turned a teacher.

⑥、The heat turned the milk sour.

熄灭，关灯；①、Remember to turn out the night when you go to bed.

生产,制造;   ②、The factory turns out 900 cars a week.

造就,培养； ③、This university has turned out some first-rate scholars.这所大学培养了一些第一流的学者。

结果是,原来是④、Everything turned out well.结果是事事顺利。

⑤、He said he was a doctor; but later he turned out to be a cheat.

turn down把…调低，关小；拒绝，驳回   turn up把…调高，开大；露面，出现，来到
