Unit 1  Making friends

Textbook analysis:

This unit focuses on the theme "Making Friends," which falls under the "Human and Society" category, covering peer interactions, mutual respect, and friendly assistance. It includes six texts: three dialogues, a picture book story, a poster, and a drawing activity guided by a mind map.

Text 1 features daily life dialogues for primary school students, teaching them to introduce themselves and greet others in English.

Teaching objectives:

1.              Use the core language “Hello!"during interactions with classmates."Hi,I’m…. “ ”My name is…” “Nice to meet you.” ”Nice to,meet you too.”to introduce oneself and greet the other person.
2.            Practice repeating after the speaker.Engage in role-playing and correctly use polite and friendly body language to greet others.
3.            Gain a preliminary understanding of the differences

between Chinese and foreign names .And also learn the English writing requirements for names in both cultures.

Key point :

1.              Be able to use “Hello,"during interactions with classmates. Use” Hi,I’m.../My name is…”“Nice to meet you ./Nice to meet you too."to introduce oneself and greet the other person.
2.            Be able to engage in role-playing and use polite and friendly,body language to greet others correctly.

Difficult point

Gain a preliminary understanding of the differences between Chinese and foreign names,and also learn the English writing requirements for Chinese and foreign names.
