Period 1 Section A What’s fun in a yard?
一、教材分析
What: 本课时主要包含三部分,第一部分动植物的名称;第二部分谈论小院里动植物的确认及其数量;第三部分介绍元音字母a、e、i、o、u的第二种发音规律。
Why: 通过本节课的学习帮助学生认识农家小院,复习有关动植物的词汇知识,同时学会表达动植物的颜色,数量和特征,培养学生爱护自然的意识。同时学习元音字母的第二组发音规律,提升自己的发音同时根据发音规律辅助单词拼写。
How: 首先通过在农家小院的对话引入What’s this/that?It’s...What are these/those?They’re...这两组有关对动物名称问答的核心对话语言。再通过同学们到Fu Xing爷爷农场的参观复习常见的问候方式,并通过对动植物名称的问答复习物品的确认方式Is this/that/it...?Are they...的句型,同时通过对数量及种类的提问,引入How many..., what kind of... 等核心语言。通过听、说、读、唱感知五个元音字母的第二组发音规律。

1. 五个元音字母的第二组发音规律。
2. 本课时的重点单词和短语。
3. 动植物的名称及数词。
三、教学目标
【知识与技能】
1. 掌握5个元音字母的第二组发音规律及其在单词中的拼写规则。
2. 掌握以下重点单词及数词:
fun、yard、carrot、goose
3. 掌握下列句型:
—What’s this/that?—It’s...
—What are these/those?—They’re...
—How many...does... have?—Two/...
【情感、态度与价值观】
通过认识农场生活增加生活常识,知道自己常见的食物是如何来的,懂得爱护粮食,同时了解农村生活和城市生活的差异,享受农村生活的质朴。
四、教学重难点
重点:有关谈论动植物名称,数量和特点的核心语言;5个元音字母的发音。
难点:对农场的动植物种类及数量的表达,并内化询问和回答小院信息的语言表达方式。

六、教学过程
Step 1 Lead-in
1. Play an English song video The Animals on the Farm and then ask students sing along with the song.
2. T: Watch the video. And tell me what kinds of animals you can see. Now, one, two, begin.

Step 2 Presentation
1. Learn the new words fun、yard、carrot、goose and review the name of some plants in the yard.
2. Practice the new words and some words learned in primary school by some small games such as loud and slow voice.

3. Work on 1a.
(1)Look at the picture. Match the plants and animals with their names.

Step 3 Pair work(Work on 1b)
1. Let students work in pairs and practice the sentence pattern “What’s this/that?It’s...” “What are these/those?They’re...”.
2. Let students pay more attention to the usages of “is/are”“this/that”“those/these”“It’s/They’re”.
3. Choose some pairs to show in class.

Step 4 Listening and Speaking
1. Work on 2a.
(1)Let students listen and follow the recording to read aloud the numbers.
(2)Practice the numbers by flashing the numbers in the PPT quickly.
2. Work on 2b.
(1)Listen and write down the numbers.
(2)Check the answers: 1. three 2.eight 3. eleven 4. twelve 5. thirteen 6. fifteen 7. eighteen 8. twenty
3. Look at the picture and say out the number of the plants or animals in the picture. Let students answer by using complete sentences.
4. Work on 2c
(1)Let students read the questions in 2c and predict the possible content of the conversation and circle the important words in the questions.
(2)Play the recording for students and ask them to circle the correct answers.
(3)Check the answers: B; B; A; B

Step 5 Post-listening(Work on 2d)
(1)Ask students to work in pairs and make up a new conversation to talk about the plants and animals in the picture in 1a.
(2)Conclude the sentence patterns.

Step 6 Pronunciation
1. Work on 1.
(1)Let students listen and repeat the sounds.
(2)Conclude the rules according the table.
在闭音节单词中, 字母a,e,i,o,u分别发/æ/ /e/ /ɪ/ /ɒ/ /ʌ/ 音。
(3)Compare the first rule and the second rule of the pronunciation of a,e,i,o,u.
2. Work on 2.
(1)Play the recording and ask students to put the words into the correct groups in 2.
(2)Ask students to share their answers.
(3)Check the answers: /eɪ/ name; grape /æ/ black; that /i:/ he; these /e/ ten; pen /aɪ/ like; nine /ɪ/ big; six /əʊ/ note; joke /ɒ/ not; box /ju:/ tube; huge /ʌ/ bus; lunch
3. Work on 3.
1. Practice reading the words in groups.
2. Let some students read in class and correct the mistakes if possible.
