These growers also like to show their colourful vegetables online or share what they learn from growing vegetables with each other.
It is easy to grow vegetables on the balcony, so many children are interested in it too. For children, it's a good way to stay away from TV or smartphones for a while. It also helps them learn about farm work and brings fun to their lives.
Zhang Chao, 14 years old, is one of these young growers. "I started to grow vegetables when I was in primary school. At that time, I lived with my grandpa in the countryside. He taught me how to grow vegetables. I know farming is never easy, but I feel happy when I see seeds become vegetables," he said.

As a teenager, probably, you often have a fight with your parents when it comes to chores. In fact, chores are one of the most common problems between parents and teenagers. Studies show that only 20% of mothers and 10% of fathers are happy with the amount (数量) of housework their teenagers do.
What affects the amount of housework that teenagers do? There is more than one factor (因素). If a teenager's mother has jobs, usually the teenager does more chores. Also, teenagers from large families usually do more chores. For boys, if their father does many chores, they are tend to do more chores. However, these days, even some parents do few chores because they have housekeepers.
At the age of 7 or 8, girls and boys usually spend similar amounts of time on housework. But as they get older, girls usually do more housework than boys. At around 15 or 16 years old,

teenagers usually want to spend more time with friends, in after-school activities, or in paid jobs, so they spend less time on chores.
Usually, boys and girls do different chores. For example, boys are often asked to do outdoor chores like shopping, cleaning the car and taking out the rubbish. But girls often get indoor chores such as kitchen work, house cleaning, and taking care of young children.
So how can parents encourage teenagers to take on different chores? Probably, the best way is that parents themselves do more different chores. Boys may be ready to do some "women's chores" if they see their fathers doing them.
