Then ask students: "What do you think these pictures are about? Have you experienced such a situation?" Let students share their experiences and feelings briefly. 5.2 Vocabulary Presentation (10 minutes) Present the new vocabulary related to pandemics on the PPT one by one. For each word, show its definition, pronunciation, and an example sentence. For example, for the word "pandemic", show the definition "a disease that spreads over a whole country or the whole world", read the pronunciation /pænˈdemɪk/, and give an example sentence "The COVID - 19 pandemic has affected people's lives around the world." After presenting all the words, play the recording of the words for students to listen and imitate the pronunciation. Then ask students to read the words in pairs to practice pronunciation. 5.3 Discussion (15 minutes) Divide students into groups of four. Give each group a discussion topic: "What are the common diseases you know? How do they spread? And what can we do to prevent them?" Each group discusses the topic for about 8 minutes. During the discussion, the teacher walks around the classroom, listens to the students' discussions, and provides necessary guidance and help. Then, ask each group to choose a representative to report the group's discussion results to the whole class. After each group reports, other groups can ask questions or make comments. 5.4 Summary (10 minutes) Summarize the key vocabulary and expressions learned in this class with the students. Write them on the blackboard or show them on the PPT again. Review the common diseases, their spreading ways and prevention methods that students discussed. Emphasize the importance of taking preventive measures to protect our health. Assign homework: Ask students to write a short passage about a disease they are familiar with, including its symptoms, how it spreads, and the prevention methods. The passage should be at least 80 words. 5.5 Homework (5 minutes) Instruct students to complete the writing task at home. Remind them to use the vocabulary and expressions learned in this class. Encourage students to collect more information about pandemics, such as news reports or stories, and be ready to share in the next class. 教学反思 Positive Aspects: In this class, the lead - in part effectively attracted students' attention and activated their prior knowledge. The vocabulary presentation method was clear, and students' pronunciation practice in pairs was helpful for them to master the new words. The group discussion made students actively participate in the class, and they could express their own views and exchange ideas with their peers. Problems: Some students still had difficulties in using the new vocabulary accurately when expressing their views in the discussion. And during the group discussion, a few students were a little passive and did not fully participate in the discussion. Improvement Measures: In future classes, more vocabulary - using exercises can be designed, such as filling in the blanks, making sentences, etc., to help students master the vocabulary better. For the passive students in group work, the teacher should give more encouragement and guidance, and assign specific tasks to them to make them more involved in the group activities. 2 / 37 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
