Novel: A long - form narrative work with complex plots, multiple characters, and a developed story world. Play: A form of literature written for performance on stage, with dialogues between characters being the main means of expression. 教学过程 5.1 Lead - in (5 minutes) Activity: Show students some pictures of famous literary works such as the cover of "Romeo and Juliet", a page of a collection of Tang poems, and the cover of "Harry Potter". Ask them if they know these works and what they think of them. Purpose: To arouse students' interest in the topic of literature and activate their prior knowledge related to literary works. 5.2 Vocabulary Teaching (10 minutes) Presentation: Use flashcards or the PPT to show the new words "poem", "poet", "novel", "writer", "playwright". Pronounce the words clearly and let students repeat after the teacher several times. Explanation: Explain the meaning of each word with simple examples. For example, for "poem", show a short poem on the screen and read it aloud, then explain that this is a poem. For "poet", introduce a famous poet like Du Fu and say that Du Fu is a great poet who wrote many wonderful poems. Practice: Word - matching game: Prepare some cards with the new words on one set and their definitions or pictures related to the words on another set. Let students match the words with the correct explanations or pictures. Oral practice: Ask students to make sentences using the new words. For example, "I like reading poems" or "My dream is to be a writer." 5.3 Understanding Literary Forms (15 minutes) Presentation: Use the PPT to show examples of a poem, a novel, and a play. For the poem, choose a simple and well - known one like "The Goose" by Luo Binwang. Read the poem aloud and analyze its rhythm and rhyme briefly. For the novel, show a short excerpt from a popular children's novel and point out the elements of plot and characters. For the play, play a short video clip of a scene from a play and explain how the story is presented through dialogues. Group Discussion: Divide students into groups of four. Give each group a task to discuss the differences between the three literary forms they have just seen. After 5 minutes of discussion, each group chooses a representative to report their findings to the class. Summary: The teacher summarizes the characteristics of each literary form based on the students' reports, emphasizing the key differences such as the form of expression (rhythm and rhyme in poems, narrative in novels, dialogues in plays), length, and the way to present the story. 5.4 Listening Practice (10 minutes) Pre - listening: Tell students that they are going to listen to a short passage about a famous writer and his masterpiece. Ask them to predict what they might hear based on the vocabulary and knowledge they have learned in this class. While - listening: Play the recording. The first time, let students just listen and get a general idea of the content. The second time, play the recording again and ask students to take notes on the key information such as the name of the writer, the title of the masterpiece, and what the work is about. Post - listening: Check the answers with the students. Ask some students to retell the content of the passage in their own words. 5.5 Summary and Homework (5 minutes) Summary: Review the new words, expressions, and knowledge about literary forms with the students. Ask them to recall what they have learned in this class. Homework: Ask students to find a short poem, a novel excerpt, or a play scene by themselves and bring it to the next class to share with their classmates. Write a short paragraph about their favorite literary work, including the name of the work, the type of literary form, and why they like it. 教学反思 After this class, I need to reflect on several aspects. In terms of vocabulary teaching, although the students seemed to be interested in the word - matching game, some students still had difficulty in correctly using the new words in sentences. Maybe more guided practice and individual correction are needed. When it came to the discussion of literary forms, most groups actively participated, but a few students were a bit passive. In the future, I should encourage more students to express their opinions and ensure everyone's participation. For the listening practice, some students had trouble catching all the key information. I might consider providing some pre - listening vocabulary or more context in advance to help them better understand the content. Overall, this class laid a foundation for students to explore the world of literature, but there is still room for improvement in teaching methods and student engagement. 2 / 37 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
