1. Lead - in (5 minutes)
Greet the students and show some pictures of famous tourist attractions around the world, such as the Eiffel Tower in Paris, the Sydney Opera House in Sydney, and the Great Wall in China. Ask students: "What do these pictures show? Do you like travelling? What does travelling bring us?" Encourage students to express their opinions freely.
Then introduce the theme of this unit - "Go sightseeing".
2. Pre - reading (10 minutes)
Present some pictures of different ways of transport and ask students to name them in English. Write the new words on the blackboard.
Show some incomplete mini - texts about travel destinations. Let students guess the names of the cities or countries according to the descriptions. For example: "This is a city in Europe. It has a very famous wharf. You can take a ship here to see some amazing scenery." (The answer is Bergen.)
Ask students to circle the city names in the mini - texts and underline the ways of transport while reading.
3. While - reading (15 minutes)
Divide students into groups. Give each group a set of cards with the names of cities and countries. Let them match the cities with their corresponding countries. Then check the answers together.
Ask students to read the texts carefully again and answer some questions:
Which continents are these countries in?
What travel activities can you do in a certain place?
Which way of transport is the best choice for seeing a particular landscape?
Guide students to complete a chart about travel. The chart includes columns like "Place", "Transport", and "Sightseeing".

Do a listening exercise. Play a short dialogue about buying tickets for a cable car. Let students listen and fill in the blanks with the missing words. Then check the answers. The dialogue could be like this:

教学反思
In this class, the use of pictures and group activities can effectively arouse students' interest. Most students actively participated in the discussion and reading activities. However, some students still had difficulties in expressing their travel plans clearly due to limited vocabulary. In the future, more vocabulary - building exercises and speaking practice should be provided.
The reading materials are relatively simple, which is suitable for most students at this stage. But for some advanced students, more challenging tasks could be designed to meet their learning needs.
The listening exercise can help students improve their listening skills, but the content could be more diverse in the future to better train students' ability to understand different accents and topics related to travel.
