教学过程
Step 1 阅读 Getting ready 板块的图文,了解单元话题。
学生观察第65页的卡通图,阅读 Hi 和Lo的对话,回答下列问题。
· What are Hi and Lo doing? (They are running together.)
· What does Hi want Lo to do? (To guess his favourite sport.)
· What is Lo’s answer? (It must be the “Hi” jump!)
· Can you guess why Lo gives this answer? (While he is thinking of an answer, Hi jumps over a rock.)
· What does Hi probably think of the answer? (He probably thinks that Lo’s answer is funny.)
Step 2 完成读前活动,激活背景知识。
1. 学生开展“头脑风暴”,讨论问题What is your favourite sport? Why? 教师将学生讨论的结果罗列在黑板上。
2. 学生完成What do you know about ...? 部分的练习A1,激活背景知识。
3. 学生两人一组,谈论自己喜欢或不喜欢的体育活动,并陈述理由,完成What do you know about ...? 部分的练习A2.教师邀请部分学生口头汇报。
4. 教师出示图片,学生认读和理解单词Canada,Canadian和短语check in (at);认识单词 slope,resort。
Step 3 运用略读和预测的策略,了解主阅读篇章的主要内容。
1. 学生阅读主阅读篇章的标题、首段,并观察插图,然后完成 Before you read 部分的练习。
2. 学生阅读主阅读篇章中各段的首句,然后完成下列选择题。
Which period of the holiday did Vanessa describe in detail?
The first three days.

C the whole holiday.
Step 4 阅读主阅读篇章,了解主人公滑雪度假的主要日程。
1. 学生快读阅读主阅读篇章,然后 Vanessa 的活动与具体某一天配对。如:
The first day She learnt how to ski with her patents and a young couple.
The second day She only fell over a few times and managed to do a few rapid
runs.
The third day She arrived at the ski resort and checked in at thee hotel with
her parents.
2. 学生阅读主阅读篇章,然后完成下表。理解主阅读篇章中各事件发生的先后顺序和
人物的行为。

The following days
Vanessa kept skiing and had a wonderful time.

学生完成 Comprehension D2 的练习,并口头汇报答案。
Step 6 朗读主阅读篇章。
学生跟读录音朗读主阅读篇章。教师加强重读和弱读、节奏、连续等朗读技巧的指导。
回家作业
1. 抄写单词和短语:Canada,resort,Canadian,Slope;check in (at)。
2. 模仿录音的语音、语调,朗读课文。
3. 根据课内完成的表格,按时间顺序,写一篇60词的梗概。
4. 完成《英语(九年级 下册)B》第87页Reading A的练习。
