The understanding and reading of the text, cultivating students' reading comprehension ability and language sense. 3.2 Teaching Difficult Points Guide students to accurately and fluently describe their favorite school places and the reasons in English, cultivating students' language expression and thinking ability. Help students understand and distinguish the "because" - led adverbial clause of reason and the "We can..." sentence pattern for expressing the ability to do something, and correctly use these two sentence patterns for expression. Cultivate students' writing ability, enabling them to write a short passage with certain logic and coherence based on imitating the text. 4.1 Vocabulary School places: library (图书馆), playground (操场), classroom (教室), art room (美术室), music room (音乐室), canteen (食堂), gymnasium (体育馆), school gate (校门), laboratory (实验室), reading room (阅览室) 4.2 Sentence Patterns Asking about favorite places: What's your favourite school place? Answering about favorite places: My favourite school place is the... Expressing reasons: I like it because... Describing activities: We can... there. For example, We can read books there. (We can play basketball there.) 教学过程 5.1 Warming - up (5 minutes) Greet students: T: Hello, boys and girls! Nice to see you again. How are you today? Ss: Fine, thank you. And you? T: I'm fine, too. Sing a song: Sing a song related to school life, like "School Days". While singing, students can clap their hands or move their bodies to the rhythm. This can not only enliven the classroom atmosphere but also lead in to the topic of school life. 5.2 Lead - in (5 minutes) Show pictures: Display pictures of different school places on the multimedia, such as the library, the playground, the classroom, the art room, and the music room. Each picture is shown for a few seconds while the teacher asks questions. T: Look at the picture. What's this? Ss: It's a library. T: Very good. Do you like the library? Ss: Yes/No. Free talk: Then start a free talk. T: OK, everyone. You all know these places in our school. Now, please think about it. What's your favorite place in our school? Turn to your partner and share your ideas. Give students 2 - 3 minutes to talk, and then invite some students to share their answers with the whole class. 5.3 Presentation (15 minutes) Vocabulary teaching: Use word cards to teach the new words one by one. For example, show the word card of "library" and say, "This is the word 'library'. L - I - B - R - A - R - Y, library. It's a place where we can read books and borrow books. Follow me, library." Let students read the word several times, first in unison, then individually. Do the same for other words like "playground", "classroom", etc. After teaching all the words, play a game called "What's missing?". Show all the word cards on the blackboard, let students look at them for half a minute, then ask them to close their eyes, and the teacher takes away one card. Students open their eyes and guess what's missing. This can help students review and remember the words. Sentence pattern teaching: Present the key sentence patterns on the PPT. For the sentence "What's your favourite school place?", read it aloud, explain the meaning and the pronunciation, and let students imitate and read. Then use the same way to teach "My favourite school place is the...", "I like it because...", and "We can... there." Give examples for each sentence pattern. For example, T: Look at me. I like the library. So I can say, "My favourite school place is the library. I like it because I can read many interesting books there. We can also borrow books to read at home." Let students repeat the sentences after the teacher. 5.4 Practice (10 minutes) Group work: Divide students into groups of four. Give each group a set of cards with different school places on them. Each group member takes turns to pick a card, and then uses the learned sentence patterns to describe the place on the card. For example, if a student picks a card with "playground", he/she can say, "My favourite school place is the playground. I like it because I can play basketball and run there. We can also have P.E. classes there." Other group members listen and can ask questions if they have any. The teacher walks around the classroom, listens to the students' conversations, and gives guidance and help when necessary. Role - play: Invite two groups to come to the front of the classroom to do a role - play. One group member acts as a new student, and the other three act as old students. The new student asks each old student about their favorite school places using the sentence "What's your favourite school place?", and the old students answer using the learned sentence patterns. After the role - play, let the other students give their comments and the teacher gives evaluation and feedback. 5.5 Summary (5 minutes) Review together: Review the new words and sentence patterns learned in this class with students. Write the key words on the blackboard and ask students to read them aloud. Then ask students to recall the sentence patterns and give some examples. Ask students to summarize: Invite several students to summarize what they have learned in this class. The teacher can guide them from aspects such as vocabulary, sentence patterns, and what they know about their classmates' favorite school places. 5.6 Homework (5 minutes) Written homework: Ask students to write a short passage about their favorite school place. They should use at least three sentences we learned in class, including what the place is, why they like it, and what they can do there. Oral homework: Ask students to share their writing with their parents at home in English, and listen to their parents' favorite school places when they were young. 教学反思 After teaching this lesson, I have the following reflections. In general, most students were actively involved in classroom activities, and they showed great interest in the topic of favorite school places. Through various teaching methods such as picture - showing, group work and role - play, students' enthusiasm for learning was effectively mobilized, and they basically mastered the key vocabulary and sentence patterns. However, there are still some areas that need improvement. In vocabulary teaching, although the game "What's missing?" was helpful for students to remember words, some students still had difficulty in spelling long words like "gymnasium" correctly. In the future, more spelling drills and memory - aiding methods can be used. When it comes to the practice of sentence patterns, some students were a bit shy to speak in groups, and their language expressions were not very fluent. I should give more encouragement and guidance to these students, and design more activities to provide them with more opportunities to practice speaking. In terms of teaching time control, the group work took a little longer than expected, which made the summary part a bit hasty. Next time, I need to be more accurate in estimating the time required for each activity to ensure that the teaching process is more compact and complete. Overall, I will continue to adjust and improve my teaching methods according to the students' learning situation to better meet their learning needs. 2 / 37 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
