Unit 1 Me and my class Lesson 2 What will I be? 教学设计 I. Teaching Objectives 1. Knowledge Objectives Students will master vocabulary and phrases related to future careers (e.g., pilot, engineer, take steps, grow up, stop... from, travel around) and understand the passage about Tiantian's future aspirations. Students will be able to comprehend the passage, complete related tasks like mind - mapping and passage - filling, and talk about their own future plans. 2. Ability Objectives Improve reading and writing skills: Extract information from the passage to complete mind maps and fill in passages. Enhance speaking and critical thinking skills: Discuss Tiantian's future plans and share personal future aspirations with partners. 3. Affective Objectives Inspire students' thinking about their future careers, help them realize that they can take active steps to overcome difficulties in pursuing their dreams, and encourage them to set and strive for their future goals. II. Language Knowledge 1. Key Vocabulary & Phrases Career - related words: pilot, engineer Key phrases: take steps, grow up, stop... from, travel around 2. Key Sentence Patterns Talking about future careers: “Maybe I’ll be an airplane pilot.” “Or maybe I’ll be an engineer and make planes.” Expressing overcoming difficulties: “But that won't stop me from becoming a pilot. Key and Challenging Points Key Points: Understand the passage about Tiantian's future aspirations, master related vocabulary and phrases, and complete reading and writing tasks. Teaching Procedures Step 1: Warm - up & Lead - in Activity: Career Discussion Ask students: “What do you want to be in the future?”. Let students share their ideas and tick the jobs they might like from the list (teacher, doctor, pilot, engineer) or add more. Step 2: Reading & Comprehension Activity 1: Reading for Main Ideas Have students read the passage and answer the questions: “Is Tiantian sure about her future?”, “How will she deal with her fear of heights?”, “What will Tiantian's plane be like?”.
