Unit 1 A Day in the Life-Section A
This unit focuses on "A Day in the Life". Section A mainly presents vocabulary related to daily activities, such as getting up, having breakfast, going to school, etc. It also introduces the simple present tense to describe daily routines. Through listening, speaking, reading and writing activities, students will be able to talk about their own and others' daily lives. The dialogues and texts in this section are close to students' real life, which can arouse their interest and make it easier for them to understand and learn.

教学过程
1 Lead - in (5 minutes)
Greet the students as usual. Then, show some pictures of different daily activities on the PPT, such as a boy getting up, a girl having breakfast, etc. Ask students: "What is he/she doing?" Encourage students to answer in English. This activity can arouse students' interest and lead to the topic of this class - daily activities.
2 Presentation (12 minutes)
New Words Teaching
Teach the new words and phrases one by one. Use pictures, real objects (such as a toothbrush for "brush one's teeth") or body language to help students understand the meaning. For example, when teaching "get up", the teacher can pretend to wake up and get out of bed. Read the words and phrases aloud, and ask students to repeat after the teacher several times. Pay attention to students' pronunciation.
Divide the students into pairs. Let one student do the action of a certain daily activity, and the other student says the corresponding English word or phrase. Then they change roles. This can help students remember the words better through practice.
Grammar Teaching - Simple Present Tense
Write some sentences on the blackboard, such as "I get up at 7:00. He gets up at 6:30. They go to school by bike." Explain the structure of the simple present tense, especially the difference between the first - person/second - person/plural form and the third - person singular form.
Use the timeline on the PPT to show some daily routines. Point to different times and say sentences like "At 7:00, I usually have breakfast. At 8:00, I go to school." Explain that we use the simple present tense to describe habits and regular actions.
Write an affirmative sentence on the blackboard, for example, "He plays football after school." Then change it into a negative sentence and an interrogative sentence in front of the students, explaining the changes of the auxiliary verbs "do" and "does" and the form of the main verb.
3 Practice (15 minutes)
Listening Practice
Let students open their books to the listening part in Section A. Play the recording for the first time. Ask students to just listen and get a general idea of the conversation.
Play the recording for the second time. This time, ask students to listen carefully and fill in the blanks with the missing words about daily activities. After that, check the answers with the whole class.
Speaking Practice
Divide the students into pairs. Ask them to make up a dialogue about their daily routines, using the new words and the simple present tense. They can ask each other questions like "What time do you get up? What do you usually do after school?" Walk around the classroom and offer help if necessary.
Invite several pairs of students to come to the front of the classroom and act out their dialogues. The rest of the students listen and watch, and then give a simple evaluation, such as whether their pronunciation is correct and whether they use the grammar correctly.
Reading Practice
Show a short text about a student's daily life on the PPT. The text can include some new words and sentences in the simple present tense. Let students read the text silently for the first time and answer the question: "What time does the student go to bed?"
For the second reading, ask students to read the text carefully again and find out all the daily activities mentioned in the text. Then ask some students to share their answers.
4 Production (8 minutes)
Writing Practice
Ask students to write a short passage about their own daily lives. They should include at least 5 sentences, using the new words and the simple present tense. Remind them to pay attention to grammar, spelling and punctuation.
While students are writing, walk around the classroom and offer guidance. After students finish writing, ask them to exchange their passages with their deskmates and check each other's work. Then ask several students to read their passages aloud to the whole class.
5 Summary and Homework (5 minutes)
Summary
Summarize the key points of this class with the students, including the new words about daily activities, the structure and usage of the simple present tense. Ask students to recall what they have learned in this class.
Homework
Ask students to make a daily schedule in English, using the simple present tense to write down what they do at different times of the day. They can also draw some pictures next to the schedule to make it more vivid.
Ask students to recite the new words and phrases and the important sentences in the simple present tense.
教学反思
After this class, I need to reflect on the following aspects. Firstly, in the teaching process, whether the teaching methods are suitable for students. For example, when teaching new words, using pictures and body language can indeed help students understand and remember, but some students may still have difficulty in pronouncing some words. I should pay more attention to individual students' pronunciation problems in the future. Secondly, for the grammar part - the simple present tense, although I have used examples and timelines to explain, some students still make mistakes when using the third - person singular form of verbs. I need to design more targeted exercises to strengthen this point. Thirdly, in group work and pair work activities, most students can actively participate, but there are still a few students who are relatively passive. I should think about how to encourage these students to be more involved in class activities. Overall, I will adjust my teaching methods and strategies according to these reflections to improve the teaching effect in the next class.
