The analysis of the text
It is firmly centered around the unit theme of "comparing people and understanding friendship". The vocabulary section in 2a - 2c provides the language tools to describe and compare people, while the writing part in 3a - 3c allows students to apply these language elements to express their viewpoints on friendship, creating a seamless connection between language input and output.
The analysis of students
They have learned the basic forms of comparative and superlative degrees of adjectives and adverbs. But when it comes to using them accurately in writing, especially in complex sentences, many students may make mistakes, such as incorrect spelling of comparative forms or wrong word order in comparative sentences.
Core competences
Through this lesson, ss will be able to:
1. master the new adjectives and adverbs related to people and friendship, and use them correctly in sentences.
2. understand and apply the comparative and superlative forms of these words in different contexts, both in speaking and writing.
3. develop students' reading skills to extract key information and understand the use of vocabulary in context from the passage.
Teaching thoughts
The teacher sticks to the principle of student-center, leads students to work in groups or in pairs and learn English through activities, it aims to develop students’ core competence.

Warm up
1. Greetings.
2. Show the word snake in 2a and guide students to find the hidden words.The teacher reads the words aloud and explains their meanings,and helps students understand them by combining real-life examples

Practice
Work on 2b and 2c
Let the students complete the exercises in 2b and 2c.Then ask them to share their answers.The teacher will explain and correct the answers,explain some key points.
Ss finish the tasks in 2c and 2b and understand the feeling:
We should regard our “community” as a bigger “home”,and everyone in it should help each other.
To observe whether ss can identify and correct incorrect collocation methods.
Purpose
To consolidate their mastery of key vocabulary usage and collocation,and review the composition and usage of comparative levels.

Writing
1. Lead ss to read the post quickly and answer the question in 3a.
2. Let students read again and complete a table.
3. Guide students to complete 3c:Write a reply to the post using the table in 3b.

Purpose
To train writing skills and language application abilities.

Teaching Reflection
The time allocation was not ideal. The vocabulary practice in 2b - 2c took a bit longer than expected, leaving less time for in - depth writing feedback in 3c. In future, I will better plan the time for each part to ensure sufficient time for students to write and receive feedback.
