Step 1: Warm-up

※辨析: die, dead, dying和death
1) die 作动词,意为“死亡”强调动作,为非延续性动词,不能和表示一段时间的状语连用。
eg:Li Ming’s father died in 2020. 李明的爸爸死于2020年。
2) dead 意为“死的,无生命的”,为形容词,作表语和定语,强调状态。当有时间段时,用be dead,不能用die。
eg:The dog is dead. 狗死了。
3) dying die的现在分词,也可作形容词,意为“垂死的”,常用作定语或表语。
eg:The dog is dying. 这只狗正垂死挣扎。
4) death die的名词形式,意为“死,死亡”。
