一、教学内容
Talk about zero and first conditionals.
二、课时教学目标
Language Abilities
●Grasp the following important points and be able to read and write correctly.
●Key words and phrases:promise,seriously,has difficulties in doing,reach her by phone,make a plan for our training
●Key sentences:①If you want to solve the problem,a face-to-face talk usually works the best.
②Texting can make things worse if you're not careful with your words.
③If the rehearsal ends at 7:00 p.m.,I'll pick you up at 7:15 p.m.
④If I go there,I will try all the delicious local food.
⑤If you stay calm and say sorry,it will help.
Learning Abilities
●Learn to understand the structural differences between zero conditionals and first conditionals,summarizing grammatical rules through comparison and induction.
●Learn to make inferences and judgments based on known conditions.
Thinking Qualities
●Be able to flexibly use conditionals to express complex logic through story continuations,situational skits,and other activities.
●Be able to clarify the logical relationship between conditions and results,learning to think and express in an organized manner.

重点:
1.Students are able to master the basic structures of zero and first conditionals.
2.Students are able to distinguish between the two and use them correctly in different contexts.
难点:
1.Students may have difficulty telling the difference between zero and first conditionals,especially in some ambiguous situations.
2.Students may have difficulty using tense in if-clauses correctly.
四、教学过程
Step 1 Review & Lead-in
Show a video of a plant growing under the action of light,and ask the students about the question “If a plant doesn't get sunlight,would it grow?”.
【设计意图】通过播放植物生长的视频导入新课,为接下来的学习做铺垫。
Step 2 Grammar(3a)
Work on 3a
1.Ask students to read the sentences and work in groups to discuss the usage of if-clauses by observing the sentences.
(When students share the answers,the teacher writes key points on the blackboard. If necessary,correct their mistakes at the same time.)
2.Ask students to find more sentences with if-clauses in Section A.

Step 3 Practice(3b~3c)
Work on 3b
Ask students to match the two parts to make sentences.
Work on 3c
1.Ask students to fill in the blanks with the correct forms of the verbs in brackets. Then discuss what the situations are and whom the information is for.
2.Ask students to share the answers and other students help to correct the grammar mistakes.
【设计意图】通过做练习,学生能够在真实的情境中充分理解和掌握目标语法。
Step 4 Speaking
1.The teacher prepares a big spinning wheel labeled with different conditions (it's sunny;I'm late;my friend is sad) and another wheel labeled with results (go hiking;take a taxi;tell jokes).Ask students to spin both wheels and use “If...,I will...” to form complete sentences.
2.Ask groups to compete within 1 minute to see which group can create the most reasonable sentences. The group with the most valid sentences wins the title of “Best Conditional Sentence Group”.

Step 5 Summary
Ask students to draw a mind map to summarize the usage of “if-clauses”.
Step 6 Homework
1.Do the exercises in students' workbooks.
2.Extended:Use if-clauses to make a story with 6 to 8 sentences.
