Lesson 5 Jane's Lucky Life 一. Teaching Objectives Language Competence Students can master key words and use core sentences to talk about lucky things in daily life Cultural Awareness Students understand that "a lucky life" usually comes from small, warm things (like family care, friend support, and fun times) in both Chinese and English-speaking cultures. Thinking Quality - Students can connect Jane’s "lucky moments" (e.g., family love, friend help) to their own lives (e.g., "My dad helps me. I’m lucky too"). - Students can explain simple reasons for "being lucky" (e.g., "I’m lucky because I have good friends"). Learning Ability - Students can remember new words by linking them to Jane’s story scenes (e.g., "gift" = the present Jane gets on her birthday). - Students can work in pairs to share their own "lucky things" using simple sentences. 二. Teaching Key & Difficult Points Key Points - Recognize, pronounce, and use key words about "lucky life" correctly. - Use core sentences to describe Jane’s lucky experiences and their own. Difficult Points - Use "has/have" properly (e.g., "Jane has a friend" vs "I have a friend"). - Express "lucky reasons" clearly (not just say "I’m lucky", but add "because..."). 三. Teaching Aids - Picture cards: Jane with her family (mom, dad), Jane playing with friends, a birthday gift (toy bear), Jane getting help from a friend. - Props: a small toy gift box, "happy face" stickers, a toy ball (for "play" action). - PowerPoint: 4 simple slides of Jane’s story (1. Jane eats dinner with family; 2. Jane’s friend helps her pick up books; 3. Jane opens a birthday gift; 4. Jane plays ball with friends). 四. Teaching Procedures Step 1: Warm-up & Lead-in 1. Greet and review: "Good morning, class! Last class we learned ‘Don’t smoke, please.’ Who can say that loudly?" (Ask 2-3 students to answer, then praise them with "Good job!") 2. Lead-in: Show the "happy face" sticker. Ask: "Look! This is a happy face. When do you feel happy?" (Let 2 students share, e.g., "I feel happy when I play with friends.") Then say: "Today we’ll meet a girl named Jane. She is very lucky and happy. Our lesson is Lesson 5: Jane's Lucky Life.") Step 2: Presentation 1. Teach key words: - Family/friend: Show the picture of Jane with her family. Say: "This is Jane’s family. Family means mom, dad, and you." (Repeat "family" 3 times; ask students to say "my family".) Show the picture of Jane with friends. Say: "These are Jane’s friends. Friends play with you." (Repeat "friend" and let students wave to a partner.) - Gift/play:"This is a gift. Jane gets a gift on her birthday." "We play with a ball. Play means having fun together." (Repeat "play" and let students mimic rolling a ball.) - Lucky/happy/help: "Jane is lucky. Lucky means you have good things." She is happy. Happy means you feel good." "Her friend helps her. Help means you make things easy for others." 2. Teach core sentences: - Use Jane’s family picture. Say: "Jane is lucky. She has a good family." (Repeat 2 times; emphasize "has" for third person.) Ask a student: "Do you have a good family?" (Help them answer: "Yes, I have a good family.") - Use the "friend help" picture. Say: "Her friends help her. She is happy." (Repeat.) Use the gift picture: "She gets a nice gift on her birthday." (Repeat.) - Take the toy ball and play with a student. Say: "We can play together. It’s fun." (Let the whole class repeat.) Step 3: Practice 1. Pair work: "Talk About Jane" - Give each pair a picture card of Jane (e.g., Jane with friends, Jane with a gift). - Provide a model dialogue: - Student 1: Is Jane lucky? - Student 2: Yes, she is. - Student 1: Why? - Student 2: Because she has good friends./Because she gets a nice gift. ※has/have/had 区别:三个单词的区别在于不同时态和不同人称之间,三个单词其实表达为一个意思。用法: 如果是一般现在时:第三人称单数的时候用 has ,其它(如第一人称和第二人称)用 have 。 如果是一般过去时:全部都用 had 。 拓展: have been , has been , had been 1.区别: has / have been 是现在完成时, has 用于第三人称单数; had been 过去完成时,跟前者相比,比前者更为过去; 3.例句: (1) He has been doing this work for a period of time . (2) I want to have this book .Have you pass the math exam ? ※because 连词because的用法 He is smart because he is a scientist. - Let pairs practice. Walk around to help 2. Class game: "My Lucky Thing" - Stick "happy face" stickers on the blackboard. - Ask students to take turns saying one lucky thing about themselves (e.g. family love, friend help). For each good answer, put a sticker on their desk. Step 4: Consolidation & Extension 1. Show the PowerPoint story of Jane (4 slides) again. Ask students to retell with you: - Slide 1: "Jane has a good family. She is lucky." - Slide 2: "Her friend helps her. She is happy." - Slide 3: "She gets a nice gift. It’s fun." - Slide 4: "She plays with friends. She is lucky." 2. Extension: Ask: "What’s one lucky thing for you today?" (Let 3 students share, e.g., "I’m lucky because I play with my friend.") Step 5: Summary & Homework 1. Summary: - Review words: "Let’s say together: lucky, family, friend, gift, help, happy, play." - Review sentences: "What do we say about Jane? (Students: Jane is lucky. She has a good family.) What about you? (Students: I’m lucky because I have friends.)" 2. Homework: - Tell your family one lucky thing about you (e.g., "Mom, I’m lucky because I have a good friend."). - Draw a picture of your "lucky thing" (e.g., you and your family) and write 1 sentence under it (e.g., "I have a good family."). Step 6. Blackboard Design Key Words Core Sentences lucky 1. Jane is lucky. She has a good family. family 2. Her friends help her. She is happy. friend 3. She gets a nice gift on her birthday. gift 4. We can play together. It’s fun. help happy play 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $$
