Yes, football, basketball, swimming. Now, look at these pictures. What are they? Right, they are e-sports. Today, we are going to explore the world of e-sports." B. Pre - reading (10 minutes) Vocabulary teaching Present the new vocabulary related to e-sports on the PPT, such as "e-sports player", "competition", "team", "champion", etc. Explain the meaning of each word with pictures and examples. For example, when teaching "e-sports player", show a picture of a famous e-sports player and say, "This is an e-sports player. He plays e-sports games professionally and competes in many competitions." After explaining, let students read the words aloud several times to practice pronunciation. Prediction Show the title of the reading text "The Popular E-sports in the World" and some pictures related to the text on the PPT. Ask students to predict what the text may talk about. T: "Look at the title and these pictures. What do you think the text will tell us? Maybe it will introduce some popular e-sports games, or the famous e-sports players. Discuss with your partners." Let several students share their predictions. C. While - reading (15 minutes) Fast reading Let students read the text quickly to get the general idea. Then ask them to answer the question: "What are the main ideas of the text?" After students finish reading, call some students to share their answers. T: "OK, stop reading. Who can tell me what the text is mainly about? Yes, it mainly introduces some popular e-sports in the world, like League of Legends and Counter - Strike: Global Offensive." Careful reading Let students read the text again carefully and answer some detailed questions on the PPT, such as "What are the characteristics of League of Legends?", "How many players are there in a team in Counter - Strike: Global Offensive?" After students answer the questions, check the answers together and explain some difficult sentences in the text. For example, for the sentence "League of Legends is a multiplayer online battle arena game where two teams of five players compete against each other to destroy the enemy's base." Explain the structure "where" introducing an attributive clause. D. Post - reading (10 minutes) Group discussion Divide students into groups of four or five. Give each group a topic related to e-sports, such as "Do you think e-sports should be included in the Olympics?", "What are the advantages and disadvantages of playing e-sports?" Let students discuss in groups for about 5 minutes. Then ask each group to choose a representative to share their group's opinions in front of the class. During the discussion, walk around the classroom to offer help and guidance if necessary. Writing Based on the reading text and the group discussion, ask students to write a short passage about their favorite e-sports. They need to introduce the game, the rules, and why they like it. Give students some writing tips on the PPT, such as how to organize the paragraphs, what vocabulary and sentence structures to use. Let students write for about 5 minutes. Then ask several students to read their passages aloud, and give them some positive feedback and suggestions for improvement. E. Summary and Homework (5 minutes) Summary Summarize the key points of this class with students, including the new vocabulary, expressions, and sentence structures related to e-sports. T: "Today, we have learned a lot about e-sports. We learned new words like 'e-sports player', 'competition', etc., and expressions such as'score a goal', 'win the game'. We also learned how to describe e-sports events and players. Remember to review these knowledge after class." Homework Ask students to search for more information about an e-sports event they are interested in and write a short report about it, including the time, place, participants, and results of the event. Suggest students to watch an e-sports game video and write down their feelings about it. 教学反思 After teaching this class, I think the following aspects have been successful. The warming - up activity effectively aroused students' interest in the topic of sports and smoothly led to the introduction of e-sports. The vocabulary teaching with pictures and examples helped students understand and remember the new words easily. In the reading part, through fast reading and careful reading, students gradually mastered the reading skills and understood the text well. The group discussion and writing activities provided students with opportunities to practice speaking and writing, which improved their language output ability. However, there are also some areas that need improvement. During the group discussion, some students were a bit shy and did not actively participate. In the future, I should encourage these students more and create a more relaxed and friendly atmosphere. In the writing feedback, due to time limitations, I could not give detailed feedback to each student. Next time, I will consider asking students to exchange their writings in groups first for peer review, and then I can focus on the common problems. Overall, I will continue to adjust and optimize my teaching methods to better meet the needs of students. 2 / 37 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $$
