Unit 6 Seasons-Integration
This unit focuses on the theme of "Seasons". In the Integration part, students will be exposed to a variety of materials related to seasons, aiming to comprehensively improve their language skills and cultural awareness.
Reading: Students will read an article about the 24 Solar Terms in China. They will learn about its division basis (seasonal and weather changes), its guiding role in agriculture, and its cultural significance (related to traditional festivals). This reading material helps students understand the unique wisdom of the Chinese people in observing nature and seasons.
Listening: There are three listening tasks. In B1, students listen to the weather records of four different cities (Moscow, Shanghai, Cairo, and Sydney) in December and complete information about temperature, weather conditions, and sunshine hours. B2 requires them to listen to the weather forecasts of these cities and fill in outdoor activity suggestions. B3 is to complete an article written by Simon about the December weather in these four cities based on the information obtained from listening, which integrates the listening and writing skills.
Cultural and Language Skills Development: Through these activities, students can not only improve their language skills in listening, reading, and writing but also enhance their cultural understanding. They will learn about the cultural value of the 24 Solar Terms in China and compare the seasonal characteristics of different cities around the world, deepening their understanding of the relationship between nature and culture.

1. Lead - in (5 minutes)
Show students some pictures of different seasons and weather around the world, and ask them to describe what they see in English. For example, "What season is it in this picture? What's the weather like?"
Then, ask students if they know anything about the 24 Solar Terms in China. Briefly introduce the concept to arouse their interest.
2. Reading (12 minutes)
Pre - reading: Present some new words and phrases related to the 24 Solar Terms on the blackboard or PPT, such as "solar term", "crop growth", "farming", etc. Let students read and understand them.
While - reading:
Ask students to read the article about the 24 Solar Terms quickly and answer the general question: "What is the main idea of this article?"
Then, let students read the article carefully again and answer the detailed questions on the textbook, such as "What are the uses of the 24 Solar Terms?" and "Which solar terms are related to traditional festivals and how to describe them?"
After that, divide students into groups of four to discuss the cultural significance of the 24 Solar Terms in modern society. Each group selects a representative to share their ideas with the whole class.

教学反思
After this class, I found that students were generally interested in the content, especially the part about the 24 Solar Terms, which aroused their curiosity about traditional Chinese culture. However, there were also some problems.
In the listening part, some students had difficulty in catching the rapid - fire weather information, especially when there were different accents. In the future, more listening practice with various accents should be provided, and some listening skills training, such as predicting key information before listening, could be strengthened.
During the writing process, some students had problems with the logical structure of the article. Although they had the relevant information, they could not organize it well. Next time, more writing - structure guidance and sample analysis should be carried out before writing.
In group discussions, a few students were less active. I need to encourage these students more and create a more relaxed and inclusive atmosphere to make every student participate in classroom activities actively. Overall, through this reflection, I will adjust my teaching methods and strategies to improve the teaching effect in the following classes.
